Posted May 31, 2013 M. Green x F. STD That looks lovely! @Vaati: Agreed. Guardians look very nice with them *taps foot impatiently waiting for her Seragammas to grow up so she can try them with coppers* Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 Brown Copper x Red Copper= Red Copper, I believe with mixed color pairings they'll only breed one of the adult's colors. Will experiment with biome theory once my greens grow up Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 Heh. This was irresistible to try. Not sure I"m going to keep it though. Maybe I'll try to trade it for something. male brown copper with female alt shadow walker = brown copper. Share this post Link to post

Oh, that's gorgeous. I really like the way the colors look together. But too bad the rest of us can't breed that exact pairing. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 I just bred my pure Emerald Copper pair and got an egg, then I bred my Bronze/Flame copper pair (just my names for them) and also got an egg. Thank God they didn't refuse. lol Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 I decided to try male hellfire with plain (orange) copper female, since it's a combination I want for a rainbow even gen. Looks pretty spiffy. Got an orange copper egg from them. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) So far I've bred a Green Copper to a Thunder (resulting in a Brown Copper egg) and a Bright Copper to an Ice (resulting in a Bright Copper egg). ...interesting. I'll probably freeze the babies unless someone wanted them, I need to go back to freezing hatchlings anyway. Edited May 31, 2013 by silver_chan Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 I really want more Coppers, but I don't see ANY in the biomes, wasn't it said they are NOT rare? So far I bred green with brown, gave no egg and orange (bright?) with silver which gave an orange egg. Share this post Link to post

So far I bred green with brown, gave no egg and orange (bright?) with silver which gave an orange egg. The demand for them will make them harder to find for a while--especially with people breeding them to see what breeding combinations will make what egg. They might turn out to be falsely rare, like Blacks and Stripes were/are. And those were supposed to be commons, while I'm pretty sure Coppers are uncommon? Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) Here are some of the pairings I tried out: M. Orange x F. Red Neb M. Green x F. STD M. RB x F. Orange M. RC x F. Brown - This is the favorite pairing that I've tried. I think I might make a lineage with this one. I love the one with the red neb and also the one that is your favorite. Both of those would make very pretty lineages. Sadly I don't have even one orange Copper male and it seems like it could take a very long time to get one. Edited May 31, 2013 by purplehaze Share this post Link to post

They are just not dropping on the way I would expect for a non-rare. Yesterday, during a long "hunting session", paradoxically, I saw quite more Golds, Silvers and Blusangs than Coppers. Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) I'm actually rather fond of the way Female Brown Copper and Male Tri-Horn came out... although I am a little sad the egg didn't alt to a verdigris. Dunno if I'm going to keep it, mind you, but it was a fun experiment. Edited May 31, 2013 by RinniGold Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) I didn't breed this pretty (caught it in a FFA) but it is a green copper x thunder and gave a brown copper. edit: http://dragcave.net/lineage/suWzi (silly me forgot the lineage link). Edited May 31, 2013 by rubyshoes Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) So far I've bred a Gold x Verdigis and gotten a Brown (I was sadfacing, since I really wanted a verd from the pairing). http://dragcave.net/lineage/WXVuR Also bred this: http://dragcave.net/lineage/UKMPh http://dragcave.net/lineage/QLd57 http://dragcave.net/lineage/BElTu I noticed what appears to be an interesting pattern (if it is correct) I bred this, and the egg above from green males x female golds http://dragcave.net/lineage/rxWTK Then I tried this and got a verdigis: http://dragcave.net/lineage/W02i1 Is it possible that the egg takes after the color of the mother? (edit: Thought it might be the case, as that was the pattern, right up until the red dorsal... No clue why that would be different, so I guess my hypothesis is out the window. :\) Edited May 31, 2013 by Pink Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 I bred a brown female to a Blusang male and got a brown egg. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 Granted, I'm locked for awhile as I also need to take a hatchy delivery (squee!) but I'd be happy to blood swap with people wanting to do even gens. That's what we have to do with metals and holidays, after all. I have CBs of almost everything so feel free to pm if you want to set up something. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 I tried a red copper x gold and got a green copper. I haven't tried anything else, yet. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) After my first pair, a tarnished x tarnished couple REFUSED I'm tempted to try them with the new Seragammas. And I think they look good with Cavern Lurkers! Edited May 31, 2013 by dustpuppy Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) So are we still working out how these breed? I've seen bright copper x bright copper produce a bright egg and tarnished x tarnished produce a tarnished egg. Anyone have a case of a PB copper egg being of a different color from its parents? Edited May 31, 2013 by Coronaviridae Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 To me, it sounds like the color of the Copper egg depends on what biome the mate comes from. For dragons that can come from any biome (metallics, Holidays, etc) it's random. Indeed. I bet if you breed two different colored Coppers it's random. Or maybe it's only one of the parents' colors. But it'd be cool to breed, say, a brown and an orange and get a green. That was my theory when I heard someone wonder if it's based on the Biome. Breeding true makes sense, but breeding different colors of Coppers might be a bit trickier to work through. What if you breed a Copper with a dragon that comes from two or more Biomes? OOOH! What if it depends on the Biome you actually caught it in? That would be so annoying because I doubt breeders keep lists of that. Otherwise, it sounds like it might alternate. Such as Copper x Stripe could be verdigris or rainbow. Or the color of the Copper parent. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 Bred these: http://dragcave.net/lineage/BBNgE http://dragcave.net/lineage/vRilk My favorites from the breeding: http://dragcave.net/lineage/FLI6B and http://dragcave.net/lineage/L7zXr Unfortunately i was locked so it was APed Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 VICTORY! http://dragcave.net/lineage/uEuj0 That lineage looked so pretty on the first page, I just couldn't wait to try it! So... tl;dr - Verdigris x Whiptail = Verdigris That is really pretty! There have been so many beautiful lineages posted. <3 I love the one with the red neb and also the one that is your favorite. Both of those would make very pretty lineages. Sadly I don't have even one orange Copper male and it seems like it could take a very long time to get one. purplehaze, I feel your pain. I am in need of a Brown Copper female for my male. Maybe it is my eyesight but I have not seen any drop. Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2013 I'm pretty fond of the Royal Blue x Green Copper I just bred. uwu http://dragcave.net/lineage/WW4Hr Share this post Link to post
