Lineage Advice

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to pair up some of my mateless dragons and I'm running across a recurring issue--misgendered spirals like this fellow. To continue the pattern he should've been a girl and now I don't know what to do with him. I have a bunch like this that I really want to breed but I don't want to destroy the pattern. What type of shape looks best paired with this type of line?

I have seen some like this carried on by breeding with another CB female, then breeding the next two generations with CB males, etc. I don't have an example right now to link you to, but I'll see if I can find one somewhere on my scroll. wink.gif

I've seen a few like that, so I might try that. Has anyone tried mirroring them? I think mirrored stairs look really great, but I'm wondering if mirrored spirals just look messy, haha.

Hmm, the shorter mirrored one looks a little strange, but I really like that 8th gen one. I think I'll have to try them both. Thanks so much, guys!

I'd say, trade for one with a similar lineage: Prize breed on the outside, common on the inside, shaped like an arrow.

I have a quick question, how would I continue this lineage? I'm sorta new and I'm confused about lineages.

Thanks!

most people go for one of two patterns

if you want an arrow, influence your egg male to get an open pattern similar to this > http://www.coup-detat.info/NDER/Lineage.ph...en=4&mate=HIOpI

if you like a pyramid pattern, influence it female to get a closed pattern like this> http://www.coup-detat.info/NDER/Lineage.ph...en=4&mate=YJJ3l

What dragon should I breed with (or how do I get one) to produce either lineage. What about the stair (?) lineage.

The problem with a stair-lineage is that your egg is a Shimmerkin not a Shimmer itself. If you want it to STAY a stair you'd have to breed your resulting dragon with a cb, but unless you have ever won a cb bronze shimmer that will break the pattern of Golden Wyvern with Bronze Shimmer mate.

It's possible of course.

^I mistakenly made that dragon a girl, and I have been trying to breed a male prize from her to try get the lineage back on the rails. (the first son got rejected. laugh.gif)

Should I keep trying that or just leave it to become a spiral/whatever you would call it?

Edit: Thanks! I will think about which one I want. (and yaaaaaaay, I can make it not ugly then.)

Then to continue this lineage, I just breed with a CB male water dragon of the right gender?

https://dragcave.net/lineage/45Vhz

Yep, breed the prize with a male water.

Some kind of pattern is going to most visually appealing IMO. So either make it a 'spiral' that switches every fifth gen or a 'spiral' that goes four male prizes, one female, four male prizes, one female, etc.

I snagged this egg but am drawing a blank as to what mate to go with and what gender to influence to continue the line.

Any suggestions?

I got a White sibling of that laugh.gif

Obviously, the chances at acquiring a 3rd gen Prize are rather low. So I was considering making a fake mirror, using a Spessartine instead of the Prize (for color and no gender difference), Thunders instead of the Ices, Daydreams instead of the Whites and Golden Wyverns instead of the Golds. The 4th gen should then be a Daydream, which will probably be the biggest issue when breeding Daydream with a Pyralspite ...

Otherwise, find someone whose 3rd gen Prize misgendered and offer them a 3rd gen spiral mate of some sort ...

Need some advice.. which two COMMON dragons most remind you of Egypt... if any?

I'm going to start a new lineage representing the ancient Pharoahs, but I'm not sure which two dragon species to use... or if I should make it purebred.

Spitfires maybe? They live in the desert and idk why but they just sort of remind me of Egypt...

It's the patterns on them. Also, stones kind of do, as well as brimstones.

Black Tea for the cat-like appearance? Likewise, Magi reminds me of the Sphinx.

Sunsongs seem to have that god-like demeanor that you'd expect from a Pharao, too, although their biome seems to disagree. xd.png

I agree with Avarule though, the Spitfire seems to represent its Desert biome quite perfectly.

Agreeing with Spitfires. For the other, in order: Gold, Lumina, Magi, Black Tea... maybe Brute.

Gold x Spitfire would look nice if you could do it (I realize you said common but it would be perfect).

How does that look? Not quite a mirror, but kind of similar colors. I can breed a sibling of the female gold, though most likely it'll be an ice instead of the gold. Let me know in a pm

Egyptian, yeah spitfires and luminas. Two of my luminas happen to be named Opalescent Isis and Iridescent Osiris xd.png

Hmm.. for one I'd say Imperial Fleshcrownes: the yellow of their body is like the sand of the desert, and their crowns remind me the headgear of the pharaohs

And for the other Black Tea for sure: since the first day they have remined me a sphinx

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Don't know why I couldn't decide for myself, but I just blanked on the whole idea.

I've decided to go with purebred Spitfires. I liked the female Imperial Fleshcrowne as well, but the two shades of blue/green clash with each other. Black Teas have the perfect pose, but their pinkish color just doesn't work for me.

Thanks again to everyone who posted.
