Posted January 27, 2015 I have a request I'm not sure anyone will fill, but I'm going to ask anyway: those of you with second gen prizes- what did You trade for them? What could I offer in trade for an even gen offspring that is 3rd gen? I've sent a couple of PM's with no response- they were pretty nice non- demanding ones, so I'm not sure? It depends on the breeder. I have one 2G silver shimmer and I paid a 3rd even gen checker holly for it. I consider it a lucky trade that I had a low gen to offer and something that the breeder really wanted since they love purples. Some go for metals, some NDs, some hollies, some a bunch of super commons, etc. It's hard to pin down in reality because it's subjective to what the breeder wants and needs at that time. Posted January 27, 2015 Thanks guys! I feel bad pming when I don't know what people want, but I'm not asking for 2nd gens, only 3rds (or even higher). I guess I'll just keep at it. They don't come up for trade often because I think most people want stairs, so I feel like all I can do is pm the owner of the 2n gen and see if I can convince them to try for an even instead. I guess they can just keep ignoring me if they want! @ Rhaegal, I see 5gens going for not much, 4g maybe not. I bet you'd have better luck looking for posts that have such an egg and want offers, and then offering on it, but others may not agree. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 27, 2015 Would people actually trade trio eggs for other trios? I've been cavehunting in the desert and i've got thunders. Kinda want magmas because I've too many ices and thunders, but I don't know if they're considered "rarer" than ices and thunders. So on a more direct point, is a thunder worth trading for a magma? Would all of them together be worth a CB neglected? I've been trying to trade with no avail I'd try pooling them if I were you. While that particular 3G may be the first of its line, it's a relatively easy line to breed and there will likely be more 3G's if you continue breeding the parents. It is a 2014 line which is more valuable, but most 3G's I've seen traded go for 1 or 2 CB metals. I'm not sure the exact value of the neglected but I think it's probably a bit higher. I thought the same, but it didn't seem to be true I now think that an ND is worth a cb gold or 2 cb silvers, so it should be an absolutely fair trade. Trading bundles works well if you offer the bundle for a rare someone else has up for trade, but they usually don't catch offers if you make a trade of your own and wait for someone with a rare to offer on the bundle. @ Silverswift: My experience with funny codes is that they're only worth a lot if they're a perfect 5-letter word. Perfect palindromes and all-number-codes also attract collectors, but all of them can only fetch you a rare if they're cb. Funny, non-perfect codes or funny codes on messy lineages usually get you a hatchie or two, or a specific bred egg. Share this post Link to post

I am a code collector, and I collect "God" codes. For your egg, since the line is imperfect and mostly impossible to continue, I would offer something I can breed or get, like this. I think the problem here is that... well, that's a common line. And it's 2013. And the fact that most people don't bother breeding tinsels/shimmers below 4th gen...
