Zombie Success stories

I really don't get how we can make undead S1s - even my very last hatchlings that just died last night, made it to S2. I fogged them right after they hatched and each and every turned S2. How am I supposed to ever get all of the S1 Zombies??

You have to freeze them at S1. It's the only way.

You have to have hatchlings with an absurdly low view count if you do the fog kill method. It's hard, but it can be done. The best way is if you have a hatchling that was a failed ND experiment. I got some this way.

The less time a dragon has the less views it needs to hatch/grow up. You can exploit that to get S1 zombie attempts, but it requires patience.

Haven't been prepared this year:

2 dead hatchlings

2 dead adults

1 dodge

1 zombified Spitfire

 

Overall I have 5 adult and 2 hatchlings zombies. Don't like killing dragons...

I did much better with today's kills than I did last night.  Out of 5 kills I got 3 Zombies, so all things considered, it's been a good holiday. :D

I fogged and killed about 15 hatchlings. Of those, I did get 4 who died at S1. Those four were ones where I happened to be sitting at the computer at the moment they hatched. So yes, it is possible to fog-kill S1s, but you need to like babysit the egg and fog it the Second it hatches.

Update:

Finished off the hatchlings that died earlier in the week. Here's results so far... still disappointing.

1 revive (hatchling), 17 disintegrates (all 5 adults and 12 hatchlings), 1 zombie (hatchling)

Blah blah blah.... so much for better odds.

 

More blah. Got my 5 kill slots back, used them all on adults. 4 more disintegrations and 1 zombie.

Not great odds this year for me, very disappointed.

Makes my new total: Out of 24 attempts on hatchlings and zombies, 2 zombified, 1 revived and 21 disintegrated. 8% success rate this year, yuck.

Didn't prep with hatchlings or pre-killed adults this year (no time, work's killin' me) but out of 5 stabbies I did just now, 3 disintegrated and 2 turned. I call that a success.

I've gotten a fairly large number of S1 zombie hatchies, none of them from frozen. My advice is that you can't ER them until they're 3 days, 20 hours at the most. (Without Incubating. Eggs that are Incubated take more views to hatch.) And you should fog them as soon as they hatch, especially if they're at or close to 3d20h, since with the lower-time eggs you have a greater margin of error. By waiting until they're at least 3d20h to ER them, I consistently get fodder that stays S1. Here's my zombie group, so you can see the sort of views you need.

I got two zombies this year, last two years I had no luck at all! One eastern and one pygmy dragon, so better than nothing. Didn't know about this fogged stuff, wew!

I zombified one Ridgewing hatchling (the only zombie I tried for this year!).  And, the code looks like the word, 'Risen'!  :)

3/11 all adults, will add later when we're back home on Sunday and I get back to my device. 

I'm almost done with my hatchie goal until next type is released, but I didn't manage to get enough fodder of it that would also die for today, I mean I had 3 but 2 of them are still alive...

 

Also never have I had SO many dodges so far... Lost nearly all chances to try for the rarest types - despite having a few fodders each but eastern pygmy...

Killed another 4 tonight and got 2/4 turns! Yay. I didn't have a two-headed sea serpent yet.

This year I didn't go for Zombie hatchies, but if you look at the top group of S1 hatchies here, you can see that they need to have very few views and particularly umique views, too: https://dragcave.net/group/10160 (the ones here were all created just by fogging quite them a while ago).
