Posted August 6, 2010 aww... one day the AP was so empty i donated a few eggs, a stone, purple, and glory drake. the stone died the purple just hatched and the glory grew up. the glory's parents were Velvety Sleek and Gamblin In Daylight. Their baby was named Velvety Daylight by the owner. it just made my melt a little inside...aww! so sweet! Share this post Link to post
Posted August 7, 2010 Personally, I like to name dragons after their parents. It makes naming so much easier. Posted August 7, 2010 I would love it if that happened with my eggs. But it never really does. What stinks, though, is when you look back and realize that one of your dragon's children is frozen. D8 I honestly hate it when people do that. I personally think that if someone picks up an egg from the AP that has parents, it's best not to freeze the resulting hatchling. I agree. That's never a good feeling. But what I think is worst is when someone freezes your dragons' offspring and then releases them. That always bothers me. But you can't really control what other players do. I think this is my favorite so far. Posted August 7, 2010 I named a geode Senor Sparklepants the Second after his daddy. Also, I recently got a dragon with both parents having 'Zek' at the end of their names. I carried that on. I've had it happen to me a few times. It's excellent. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 7, 2010 I don't really do this often, but I Thuwed vine I got had recurring surnames so many times I couldn't help but put some in her name. Venus Natchsnap Thuwed - Natch (German for black) and Snap appear a couple of times, and the Venus part makes it sound like Venus Flytrap. http://dragcave.net/lineage/VbQG That would be the offspring of my dragon I released into the AP on purpose so someone else could get a Thuwed. 8D I'm glad to see that someone gave her a good home. Posted August 29, 2010 I think it's really cool to find offspring that are named after their parents. When I first started I didn't do it myself, but I try to do it now. =) This was the first person to just randomly keep my odd "Doom" lineage going... probably helped being a Dorkface, it was still cool seeing it. The first offspring of my 2 CB splits was named after their Thabto (Two Heads Are Better Than One) lineage, which I thought was very cool. http://dragcave.net/lineage/nqis I like to think this lil girl is named after her momma... http://dragcave.net/lineage/jgYq I should go through and check again. Posted August 29, 2010 (edited) I've named a few of my dragons after their parents, but I dont think anyone has done that with any of my dragon's offspring. Infact, I just checked. Pretty much ALL of my dragon's children that I didnt keep arent named at all.... Edit: Actually, I didnt see ONE that was named....c'mon people. Posted August 31, 2010 I've done this on quite a few dragons now. This little minty lady was named after her parents and her code - TOXO. What I think is extra special is the naming after parents scheme has gone on for quite a few generations, and I feel proud to continue it. My first frozen summer, Solar Wave Dorkface, was named after her parents Solor Summersong and Aqua Wavemaker My second frozen summer, Maseru Wind, was also named after her parents Maseru and Welcome Wind. My third frozen summer, Pink Summer Delight, has a name based off of her parents Seasonals Spring and Pink Wing Delight. I loved the prefix of this Vine's parents so much I had to use it for their daughter. Share this post Link to post

Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) My white dragon, Moravio Tirablanco Dorkface, was named after his father (Tirablanco DF Fontainebleau) and grandmother (Shallyna'ar Morovius Dorkface) From the father, obviously, I took Tirablanco and Dorkface. From his grandmother, I took an adapted version of her middle name. Quarec Carlyle, my ocredrake, is sort of named after his parents. All the other dragons in his lineage were called "____ Carlisle".
