ButwaitIthought has a bad memory, to put it mildly. In fact, his "name" comes from his reaction every time someone asks what his name is. "Do you have a name" "Yes. It's... but, wait, I thought..." is normally how it goes, and some dragons have just decided that it's "ButwaitIthought". They're not here to judge, after all.

ButwaitIthought lives in a nursing cave, despite barely being an adult. This is because of his horrible memory, which is so bad that he forgets that he is flightless, and his special diet. After getting hurt or sick one too many times, he was sent to the nursing cave. Now he believes that he truly is old, and he talks with the other elderly dragons about how much he wishes his grandson would just hurry up and hatch and give him a call. Nobody has the heart to tell him otherwise.

Sharmindarr likes to learn. In fact, he lives to learn. Of course, good luck standing him long enough for him to tell you anything, because when anyone talks to him, he'll talk as slowly and deeply as possible, with liberal amounts of "hmm"s to make it even slower.

He was constantly trying to kill his neurotic grandson that seemed to be invincible, until he killed him as of late and declared himself leader of all ember dragons. Not that anyone listens to him, but it's his power trip, so most other dragons just let him do what he wants as long as he doesn't try to talk to them.

Hoffiny is ashamed of both her name (therefore, she goes by Hasslehoff) and the rotten pumpkin she lives in. It has caved in so much that she can barely fit inside it anymore, and so, she is constantly trying to steal another home. Sadly, her pumpkin is possessed, and it refuses to let her abandon it, so every time she tries to get out of it, it gets even more rotten and heavier. Not fond of being crushed, she rolls her pumpkin around and pokes her head out of the mouth to say hello to others. Obviously, this looks more than a little odd.

Considered the 'son' of Circe, Hesali is considered the second-in-command of the Von Seggrern clan. Of all the vampires in the clan, he is the most level-headed. He often serves as the voice of the Von Seggrerns and as such gets along with the other dragons of the cave better than most vampires. However, like others in the Von Seggrern clan, he has a deep hatred of the Vondrak clan.

Uh, was I just accused of plagiarism or something? I've never read Twilight (at least haven't made it past the first few pages) and have never seen the movie.

 

Titus Aelius is the oldest Magi in the cave, as well as one of the oldest dragons. Many consider him intelligent, though his arrogance often pushes others away. While he is very tolerant of others, he deeply dislikes vampires after Circe Von Seggrern bit Titus's egg. Ever since then, he has fought to keep vampires out of the cave, with little success.

For "The Lord of the Wings":

From the moment she hatched, this dragon knew she was destined for something great. Indeed, she has always strived to be the best she can be. If someone is truly better than her at something, she gives her sincere congratulations, and tries that much harder to improve.

She is very fair-minded and wants the best for everyone, but can be arrogant and bossy. She tends to appoint herself the de facto leader of any group; luckily, she's a natural, and always rises to the occasion when really needed. Even most dragons who dislike her admit that they would rather follow her than anyone else.

Other dragons wanted to call her the Lady of the Wings. She refused. Despite her skills, she had always been called "Lady" as a hatchling -- as in "see what the little Lady's done," with an air of surprise -- almost always patronized despite her accomplishments. No, she wanted to be acknowledged as strong in her own right.

Quick-witted, sharp-tongued, and fair-minded: this is the Lord of the Wings.

* Reject: It's one thing to try their best and be ambitious, but another to be destined to be great. Also, arrogance and open-minded contradict each other.

 

... Not really? :| She thinks she's destined to be great, but her successes come from her drive. She wants to be the dragon she thinks she is -- which is the best, so she tries her best.

Arrogance and open-mindedness don't necessarily contradict each other, either. She thinks she's the best thing since sliced bread and will crow it from the rooftops, but part of being a good leader means listening to the people you lead, even when (you think) you know better than they do.

Kalt Glace does enjoy brains, but not in the sense you'd think. Rather than attacking innocent dragons and saying "brains", he acts as feminine as possible. He, for some reason, thinks that he's a six-foot-tall purple squid monster with a black dress. He has a whiny, nerdy, and in general, pathetic voice when he does speak, and this is only to say snarky comments before eating the brain, and only the brain, of his prey.

Zombie Rake is doomed to live a most miserable and humiliating life: eating pumpkin pies deliciously sprinkled with brains. But just a touch, dear. For you see, the irresponsible owner of this particular zombie dragon was a newb, through and through, and epically failed when it came to the spell needed for this dragon.

Now Zombie Rake sits and talks with its girlfriends, gossiping about whatever it wants and eating as many brain-covered pumpkin pies as it wants. Then it eats its gossiping buddies. But, hey, it got a good five-hour's worth of gossip, knitting, and eating done. And have you heard about Tera lately...

Tanzantriom StarShimmer (after the gemstone: Tanzanite) is the 34th clan dragon, bringing with him a new and unique element to the clan cave. He spends much of his time wandering the night heavens, finding peace and happiness among the stars. His scales and wings reflect the namesake of his species, as does his temperament and demeanor. On cloudy nights, when the twinkling of the stars cannot be seen, Tanzantriom restlessly soars through the sky, attempting to overpower and replace the dullness with his own, shimmering likeness. He holds a special place in The Clan Mother's heart, a mix of the dark, blackness of night and the glittering beauty of the stars. Each morning, upon his return to the clan cave, all the clan dragons, both young and old, seek a glimpse at the intricate sparkles that cover his body, wondering in awe if, and how, the pattern has changed from the night before. Tanzantriom accepts this curiosity with grace and good humor, posing upon request for each admirer.

Getting in the holiday spirit I started writing descriptions for my holiday dragons and I just got my first comment.

 

My Yulebuck, Bah Humbugg:

Unlike most Yulebucks Bah Humbugg (or just Humbugg for short)isn't the least bit friendly nor does he carry about an air of holiday spirit. As soon as the seasons change for the colder Humbugg will spend most of his time moping about complaining about how atrocious the weather has become. Giving a hard huff and turning his nose up at any attempts to get him out to play the other dragons of the cave have started calling him Bah Humbugg due to his particular distaste for the Christmas holiday and his tendency to snort Bah Humbugg whenever anyone tries to wish him a happy holiday.

Description:

This dragon has a very strong dietary preference for goats, pinecones, and cheese.  He only eats other foods if he cannot get these.  Other dragons do not like when he eats cheese because he does not digest it well.  Fortunately, both goats and pinecones are abundant in the mountains where he lives.

The only possible ground for rejecting I can find would be "During the autumn months, harvest dragons will eat whatever they can find" which would conflict with "He only eats other foods if he cannot get these." Seems rather fussy though. You could resubmit and see what happens, tweak the description a bit to fit in the 'eats everything' bit, or pm Sockpuppetstrangler (she's the only mod currently reviewing descriptions, right?). That, or I have no idea :/

I did modify the description to make it a little more clearly aligned with the breed description:

I seem to have gathered one of our random rejections on this description for one of my male purples:

 

Tyree is a Bachelor dragon. Yes, that is Bachelor, with a capitol B. He exults that no female dragon has ever caught his eye. He is also more of a loner than most other dragons of the Rainbow Cavern. His own company is more than enough for him. He recognizes himself as the most interesting, intelligent, and best looking dragon of the cave, and sees no reason to bother himself with the companionship of any of the lesser dragons he sees around him. He may be the happiest dragon of the cave. He certainly is the most shallow. Shallower even than Dawn Glow and Lavender Jade.

Nope, it looks fine to me, raindear. Only thing I can think of is that someone doesn't like the idea of a shallow/misogynist-type dragon -- some people seem to think they should be accepting/rejecting based on what they like instead of what's a good description. I mean, hey, I wouldn't invite your Tyree to tea, but it's a good description.

The thing I dislike the most is when people reject or abstain my description but don't tell me WHY they rejected/abstained. It doesn't tell me what I need to do to improve my description, which is the whole point of the editing system.

 

Oh, and a comment for this description:

 

Weird Bleached Guy was raised a Slashclaw, but currently resides with the Rabid Ones; due to a mental problem that has plagued him since birth, he was abandoned in front of the Rabid Ones' cave. When his escort was asked why he was being carried away from home, the escort callously told him he was useless and had to be disposed of.

Slashclaw warriors are notorious for their love of violence, but Weird Bleached Guy cares only about his appearance. He is convinced that he was born a different color and drove everyone crazy obsessing over what it was. A dragon like this was unwelcome in the clan, and after his abandonment, he took a severe blow to his self-esteem.

Rabid Sea Breeze, the Rabid Ones' leader, is his hero. Thanks to Sea Breeze, he was transformed from a tremulous hatchling unsure of his future to a boisterous, confident male ready to spread the 'blessing' of lunacy. He remains to this day one of the Rabid Ones' most devoted followers.

[Switch]

From Switch the Headcrab's description, my waterhorse...

Switch is a very odd dragon with a mix of different personalities. She rarely ever leaves the pond she calls home, and when she does, she acts very blunt and wise-cracking. The oddest thing about her, however, is that she constantly bites other dragon's heads, giving no explanation as to why. She is quick to get into arguments with dragons of higher rank in the keep than her, and has been shunned by several authority figures in the keep. Being very hard to befriend, she has only a few companions in the keep, being kind only to them. If she is upset greatly, she will hide in a dark area and let out loud moans and will mindlessely attack anyone who goes near her (some call her Switch-Witch whilst she is in this state.) Switch is known for constantly getting into fights with a trio of Magi, specifically the leader of the three, Argent-Smith. The two will often argue, wittily insulting each other until Switch ends up biting his head, leading to even more enraged comments from Argent-Smith.
