Of course I take absolutely no credit for the dragon artworks, I only copied and pasted the dragon, hatchling and egg images onto the banners. I'm not sure who to ask for permission to use those images or if it's necessary to do so since I didn't actually modify the way the DC artwork looks. I apologize if this was taboo and I understand if the images need to be removed.

the name of each artist is listed on the pages of the dragons where you got the sprite.

Breeding sure can turn up some surprises.

 

I always breed two uncommon dragons that I don't need. Expecting to fail at Red Dorsal again, I bred one of those with a whiptail, and it sure can turn out surprises because I got a Red Dorsal.

I, definitely. take this oath. Before i breed, I make sure they are rightful mates and both will not create an inbred egg.

I've seen these banners around and wondered what the "breeding oath" was.

 

Finally took the time to check it out.

 

But unfortunately I can only be a supporter right now as I breed specfically to gift on TGT, and if I breed a rare, and the result is a common, I don't keep that egg.

 

I still consider myself a supporter though, as #1. I try to only breed my rares with commons that are ALSO listed on TGT as someone wanting them (most of the time though they want a hatchling and I'm not willing to hold an egg for 6+ days for someone just to see if it genders the way they want it to - hold it yourself if you want a certain gender!! (<-- a pet peeve of mine ), #2. I grab from the AP too for the purposes of gifting - usually gendered hatchlings, but also eggs that someone has listed they wanted, #3. I NEVER breed just for breeding's sake, and #4. I NEVER participate in mass breeds as I find them to be a completely defeating of the purpose they are going for - if you mass breed then there will actually be less of said dragon dropping in the cave and not everyone wants your lineaged dragons; a fair amount of people want CBs and mass breeding takes away rather than adds to those dragons people want most.

 

So hopefully all those things above make me a 'supporter'. I added the banner to my signature so if I am incorrect in my assumption (of being a supporter) then someone please speak up and tell me and I'll take the banner off.

I follow these ideas mentioned as per my own will almost all the time unless there's an accidental breeding or emergency. I think its a great initiative but I'm personally not the type to tie myself to any oaths or such so I won't be taking the oath.

 

However, if what I said above qualifies as being supporter, I'm all for it. I wish good luck to this project.

This oath prohibits mass breeds.

 

Let me try to explain the reasoning: Metallics can only breed with commons, and the pairing more often results in commons than it does in metallics (by a long shot), so even metallic mass breeds tend to bring up a bunch of commons.

 

That's because the ratio commons:rares is fixed, so if there aren't enough commons to be, well, common, the cave makes sure you get more commons from such breeding. Of course, in the same vein, you could argue that mass breeds do nothing particularly nasty, but:

 

Regardless what the eggs are, they do go into the AP, meaning they block the cave entrance. Mass breeds can have the effect that the AP is clogged longer; though none I know of are so popular as that they'd make any significant difference in the AP clogging level (which doesn't mean they don't exist, just that I don't know about them).
