If the code is a name already, I sometimes don't name them at all - what's the point of catching a dragon with a cool code if the code is not visible on your scroll because you replace it by a name?

 

I have a guardian with the code TobY. I named this one though, because it is inbred and I mark the dragons I do not breed with "ib" (inbred) or "ml" (messy lineage), so it is called TobY ib now

 

I also have a Sunstone with the code SeNFo. I didn't name it to keep the code visible on my scroll, but I named its mate Senfo's girl

I have only named after a code once... this Grey Thuwed. Her code is DZUKA, so I altered it a little bit and named her MM Bazooka Thuwed.

Lake named Q'onn Maih (qnMAe)

Nebula named Nebej (NEb3J)

 

And my favorite: a Pink named Dr. Doi (dRDOi) - The best part was that my daughter's orthodontist is... Dr. Doi

I've got so many dragons like this. Sometimes I wonder how I got the name from the code. But I just stare at the code and zone out until something comes to me, for the weirder ones.

Usually I don't name things according to their codes, but sometimes when I don't simply come up with any kind of name, I'll look at the code for little help.

 

Though my naming is so peculiar that I rarely have any troubles with naming.

I managed to trade for a pretty little stripe with the code, xoupa (caps messed.) The name couldn't be anything but Xoup Dragon!

When my Sweetling hatched I noticed his code was q3Cub, so I named him Babie Bear (BabyBear and Baby Bear were already taken)

I've done this more and more lately, particularly if I'm out of creative juices or if a code pops up that I just can't ignore.

For example, I got a Whiptail a while back to be frozen for my scroll. The letters were "k-f-c-f-c." I immediately thought of Kentucky Fried Chicken and couldn't get past it. So, yes, I have a frozen Whiptail on my scroll named Kentucky Fried Chicken, lol.

Sometimes I do it when I get a word code :3 Then I do not even change any caps.

That's why I have "ApRlL CB Zz" and "FAaIL CB Zz" on my scroll, for example =)
