Naming based on code

I've done it a few times and so has one of my friends. My most recent is a female nebbie whose code is "AdCav" so guess what I called it? AdCav. It sounds boyish now that I've had a chance to say it in my head but guess what? AdCav is a girl!

I do it quite often actually, unless the dragon's code is a perfect word, and in that case, I don't name the dragon at all.

 

Case in point, one of my female Vamps has the code Usuck (caps messed.) I thought it was perfect to just leave it as a code

I was already in the silver trophy category before I forgot about DC for about a year *facepalm* I lost all my names and have had to start naming all over again now that I'm back. I don't remember original names (except for my splits because their names amused me so) so I've been looking at their codes and naming them the first thing that pops into my head

 

...it helps that I'm dyslexic LOL. I was just going through to find some examples and reading the codes and then the names I gave them I'm all "...how did I get this from THAT?"

I've named... two dragons based on code. lol. To be honest I only name after the code if it's something that really catches my eye somehow.

 

Nin4D: Nintendo 4D (Sort of a reference to the 3DS)

 

ALFr5: Alph of Mid-Childa (Was going to be Alfred, but it gendered female. So I made an anime reference instead)

I usually use codes as a kind of inspiration, sometimes. I was lucky enough to get code 'lOki', so that was a no-brainer.
