Posted January 11, 2017 This: https://dragcave.net/lineage/umluk Was thinking of doing a complete mirror - until I forgot that holidays can't mirror... I thought of doing some type of checker, but was thinking what else can I do (and in your options, what would you influence this? female?) I bred this egg! ... And here's the complete lineage (just like Sock's first idea): https://dragcave.net/lineage/awmQf (I can try the other pair for a Moonstone next week if you like?) Share this post Link to post

A big thanks! https://forums.dragcave.net/index.php?showt...0entry9386695 Yeah, after posting I did see your lineage... Which did look really cool! But at the same time, the mirror mates the sock posted look great as well. I'll have to sleep on it and decide either way. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 25, 2017 (edited) Garnering opinions. For tinselkins, do you favor gendering after the Tinsel or after the other parent? Don't have any plans or pairings yet, so I am unsure. Edit: I do have a pairing! This has been long in coming so I forgot! However, I would still like to hear people's opinions, for future reference. Posted January 26, 2017 What's everyone's favorite substitutes for Hollies in lineages? I want to breed a mate for her but I'm stumped. Of course the ideal would be like, Holly x Silver or something but yeah... not gonna happen I don't like Reds as substitutes when it comes to small lineages and can't use female-only breeds but anything else is possible. How about royal crimson? Maaaybe sunstone? Maybe something like anagallis to make the holly pop more? (Just did a longer lineage so you could see what it might look like... also was too lazy to re-size the template, lol.) I personally think royal crimson is the best match. I agree with Sock on the Royal Crimsons. They aren't perfect, but nothing but a Holly would be perfect. Share this post Link to post

Pyropes would be another option: (I was going to ask what you're using as a substitute for the Tinsel, but I guess you have that covered... ) Share this post Link to post
Posted January 27, 2017 Thanks guys! I'm surprised how much I like the Anagallis but I think that would be an interesting pair. Though Royal Crimson and Pyrope both look neat too. I think I'll have to breed her a couple different mates! Share this post Link to post
Posted February 22, 2017 I received this egg in return for a favor I did for my cousin. Problem is, I'm not sure what gender I should influence it to and what it should be bred to when it becomes an adult. Granted, I have a bit over 3 days to decide, but I also have to go to work during those days. Any ideas? Share this post Link to post

If it was me, I'd either leave it up to fate for the gendering or influence based on a gender I have less of for that color shimmer. For a mate, I'd find another arrowhead prize of the same generation. You'll get something like these babies are: https://dragcave.net/progeny/OVWNK ^^ Share this post Link to post
Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) I am working with my Husband and my two friends with grabing/breeding, gendering, hatching, growing, and pairing dragons. Here is my question: I captured and influenced an egg, then hatched it, it is to be the perfect CB mate for my friends CB dragon, it is currently just a hatchling if I trade it now will it lose the influence or should I wait till it is a Dragonet to trade it? Dragon Ageing: egg>hatchling>dragonet>dragon Edited February 24, 2017 by Tayshelaran Share this post Link to post
Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) Hatchlings do not lose their influence anymore, no matter if they display their gender or not. Only eggs lose their influence upon leaving their scroll. That would have been a Tiny Little Question Edited February 24, 2017 by Ruby Eyes Share this post Link to post
Posted March 9, 2017 So I have this lovely lady here: https://dragcave.net/lineage/PwtiT She is 3x great-grandchild of the mythical Penk, and as you may have seen has nebulas in her lineage and has an Aegis father. Now, I would love to breed her for the next Glittering Gold Raffle that will be held this upcoming week. I was curious as to who her mate should be. Here are the candidates I chose from my group: https://dragcave.net/lineage/QcWOo - A purple Nebula. This way, there can possibly be a "patterned" staircase that people can continue, if you get what I'm saying? https://dragcave.net/lineage/r8Fri - A white dragon to follow the colors of the Aegis https://dragcave.net/lineage/zJDVK - Just because he's a pretty Sunsong https://dragcave.net/lineage/mw42n or https://dragcave.net/lineage/0SVsF - semi-following the blue tones of the Aegis https://dragcave.net/lineage/iPtud - follows most, if not all, colors of the lineage and is an eastern like the Aegis. Now I know most of this may seem weird as heck, but I really just want suggestions on how to breed my girl. I'm at a loss. If you have any breeds to suggest that I don't have listed of a male, go ahead and suggest. I want this to be the best breeding possible (I'm aware there is also the chance at a prizefail, but I'd think any egg related to the spriter's alt would be valuable.) Thank you! Posted March 9, 2017 I'm not sure switching mates so many times is too desired, especially for stairs with an established patterns. So I would vote, for mates, in order of my personal preference: green neb, a 6th gen male prize stair (mate/s not as important), aegis, then purple neb. Share this post Link to post

I'll probably have to go with the purple nebula because I don't have a CB green Nebula or Aegis, and mt male prize stair is a 7th gen shimmer..... Ok, I'm going to ask that question again because I'm really second guessing the pairing. Should my tinsel be bred with my CB purple neb, or this PB green neb: https://dragcave.net/lineage/Oyhiq Edited March 9, 2017 by SaphireKat Share this post Link to post

Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) I vote the cb. Ok, Purple Neb will be her mate unless I get either a CB green neb or he's been used for a separate breeding Pfff editing this because I have yet another question..... This xenowyrm: https://dragcave.net/lineage/bHJvy I was wondering what I could use as a replacement for a desipis? I was thinking an Ember, but maybe a Spiritward or Brute could work too? I know the hatchling isn't an adult yet, but when he is I'd like to know what to breed him to.... Edited March 10, 2017 by SaphireKat Share this post Link to post
Posted March 11, 2017 This xenowyrm: https://dragcave.net/lineage/bHJvy You could always pick up a a Desipis for him at Halloween, but that's a bit off yet. In the meantime, Ember, red Nebula, Black, Turpentine, and Spirit Ward could all work. I'd personally stay away from Brute because of the color difference, but pose-wise it's okay. Posted March 11, 2017 Or another xenowyrm with the same lineage to make an even gen? I'd be happy to breed you one if you decide to go that route, just message me. Share this post Link to post

I think I'll make a stair step of both him with spirit wards and him with embers, then some even gens of him at a later date. I'll keep an eye out for a desipis mate for him at halloween (Maybe even go to breeding, gifting for one) and then get a xeno mate at a later date as well. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 12, 2017 (edited) Okay, so I have a 2nd gen gemshard from a spriter alt, which is difficult because of the colors. I have tried a few different mates for it but nothing I'm in love with. I just realized kingcrownes came out and might make a good replacement for the yellow mistletoe. They're a little darker than I thought, though. So just looking for thoughts! Here's what I've bred: Here's what I'm partial to: Other mockups I made: Anything stand out as your favorite? Or do you have another suggestion for the mate? Posted March 13, 2017 Red Gem from blue Gem and green Mistletoe and hope for a green 3rd gem Gem? How would a Sunsong work in place of the Mistletoe (male or female?) Share this post Link to post
Posted March 17, 2017 @Socky From your "Other mockups I made:" the left one is my favourite. I don't see another dragon with this warm yellow or light orange colours... *sigh* ETA: I deleted my old post and reposting this and this addtion. What about using a Terrae instead of the Mistletoe or Kingcrowne? The colours on the Terraes are warm so this could work. Share this post Link to post
