I am NOT a Piece of Bread

This dragon is, amazingly, not a piece of bread. The other dragons apparently think her coloring and small stature makes her look exactly like a dragon-shaped and, oddly enough, breathing loaf of bread.

She hates this, but the first thing dragons ask her is if they can eat her. She responds with "Go eat a Pygmy, they taste like berries." (It's actually true; some pygmies do taste like wild strawberries. To other pygmies.) Luckily, she has not been eaten yet.

Accept: I can't believe she's not actually bred. I'm questioning my entire acceptance of reality now. ~D

Reality? What's that?

14-Too bad! The trade was canceled.

Too Bad had an issue when it was an egg. It was going to be traded, until a Magi told DSL some bad news, and showed her a heritage. And then the egg hatched just as the same Magi said "Oh, dear. It's too bad; the trade was canceled." The hatchling repeats those words every day, trying to find a meaning to them, and will interrupt philosophers and drakes alike with a cry of "TOO BAD! THE TRADE WAS CANCELED!"

Accept: D: I feel so sad for the trade was canceled

...I may link a video to the joke.

Mega Sableye lives in a cave and isn't often seen by humans. That's just as well, since she has a sharp-toothed "grin" that chills them, and they say that looking into her red eyes will deprive them of their soul. She doesn't have a hoard in her cave like some dragons, but she does carry an enormous jewel everywhere she goes.

Oh god yes, I needed this thread because...

The Tawny Jasper's description (keep in mind this is part of my headworld):

"Tawny's tale of how she came to the dragon ranch is a long story filled with sighs. As a hatchling, her nest was raided by a band of black market dragon salesmen and she was taken to a large corral where she spent her adolescent years being mistreated and abused by man and dragon alike. Raised with the inability to trust anyone, her heart grew harsh and she plotted escape and revenge on the men who had taken away her freedom. As she matured, she was put out for auction and displayed as a gentle worker, though her captors knew too well of the anger she displayed with her talons and fangs. She was sold off to a farmer's wife and shortly after escaped, leaving the daughter fatally wounded and left to die. Shortly after her rampage, she was captured and sentenced to be destroyed as she was seen as a danger to the local men and fauna. But the ranch keeper saw potential in the hardened female, and Tawny is now being cared for by the touch of gentle loving hands."

"Abstain: danger to the local men and fauna - if she attacked a human how is she a danger to plants?"

...I wanted to just point out to whomever wrote this, fauna is a word used for animals. Flora is for flowers..Ugh, stupid stupid.

This dragon is convinced that she is a cat. As a hatchling, she was taken in by a family of felines and learned their behavior. She soon grew much larger than her adopted family, but she remained convinced that she was one of them. The cats didn't seem to mind, and they were greatly appreciative of the prey Katriena caught for them. (As a Tangar, she was able to catch birds with ease and would leave them as gifts for her foster family.) She claims she is able to speak the language of cats. "A simple language, to be sure," she remarks, "but a language nonetheless." Other dragons are sceptical of this claim, but Katriena knows that cats are wiser than they appear.

I think "skeptical" is the newer American spelling, but "sceptical" is correct too. (I'm actually American, not sure why I used the older/British spelling. I do the same thing with grey...)

Eyirla is an intelligent, enterprising Wyvern. As a hatchling, she spent a great deal of time wandering through human marketplaces, marveling at the various things for sale. When she grew older, she left the human cities in favor of life among other dragons. Feeling slightly homesick for the busy markets, she set up a small bartering stand of her own using her knowledge of plants and herbs. To her surprise, the stand (located in an easily accessible bay) quickly became popular among the neighboring dragons, and it began attracting dragons from all over the Cave. The bay soon became known as Eyirla Bay, though visiting dragons stumbled over the pronunciation of her name, often shortening it to just "E". As her customer base expanded, so did her wares. Eyirla began selling things on behalf of other dragons, as well as continuing to stock her herbs. Her stand carries a wide variety of items, and she proudly tells her searching customers that whatever it is, they can get it at E-bay.

Have gotten several nice unsigned comments on other dragons, as well. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to review!

One thing puzzles me, though - do we have any tropers on here? I've had a Red Oni and a Blue Oni sitting in the queue for a while now, but no comments besides a short note from Dimar on each.

Gustave Le Grand is a baker from a foreign place that regularly puts out thin-moustached dragons, apparently. His must be glued to his face. He also uses some odd-sounding but fancy phrases that a few other dragons understand. He specialises in "ey-clares", these small oblong pastries with creamy filling, and he's boastful about their quality, though they are quite delicious. He will also sincerely compliment other chefs for their creations, so people don't really think of him as a jerk.

What Is This ON Mah Tail

What Is This often stares at the red things on her tail, wondering what they are. She doesn't have another dragon of her breed to tell her "it's just a ribbon", and DSL likes watching her struggle and put the ribbon in other dragon's faces, asking them what it is. What Is This will not rest until she knows what the red things are.

As with most Frostbites that live near human settlements, Niachore has risen to a near legendary status. Rumors have sprung from the fact that her mother is a Guardian of Nature, leading some of the townsfolk to regard her as the bringer of winter. She's anything but, though decided to humor her worshippers by prancing along the farmlands as soon as she senses the first frost coming. They harvest the crops that weren't trampled in her stride, then leave out salted meats in hopes that her winter is merciful.  She stores the meats and sacrifices away as its simple to hunt for boars in the northern forests. In the dreariest times of winter, Niachore makes a small feast of the meats along the edge of town before taking all day to pick her way through it. The humans often come out of their homes to watch her curiously, though bolder children instead opt to climb onto her back for a better view of the snowy terrain.

Okay, wow, I'm pretty sure that's the nicest thing possible that could come from a description comment.

Cardinal grew up fending for himself, away from any form of contact with other dragons. He never got the hang of telepathy as his only companions were some friendly squirrels. When a patrol of clan born dragons discovered the hatchling squeaking and trying to climb trees, they took pity on them and brought him back to the nursery where other hatchlings lived together. Cardinal barely received his name when he escaped into the wild, desperately trying to find his squirrels again. After months of wandering around he met an old Hellfire Wyvern called Fieril, who wandered the mountains alone. The dragon taught Cardinal to fly and hunt, along with numerous life skills. One day he discovered that she was about to fly away and tried to stop her by attacking, though she broke his wing which grounded him for life. Cardinal remains in the location where he last saw her, hoping to get even a glimpse of the wyvern again.

Radaran grew up simply as a normal Brute, chasing after his mother for his first few years of life. When he was around five years of age an older Brute scared him away from his mother, leaving him alone. A Falconiform Wyvern approached him a few days after that and Radaran marked it up to him getting lucky, before taking refuge in the mountains. Eventually the news reached him that a certain Falconiform had left a hatchling behind in a community and he flew down from the mountains, adopting his Vampire daughter, Beech. He taught her how to hunt and fly as best he could, until one day she said that be leaving tomorrow. Heartbroken, he began to prepare a final meal for them to share. When tomorrow rolled around Beech stayed behind, claiming that she would leave the next day. This continued until he realized that she wasn't going to leave and he was overjoyed, willing to let her share his mountain until they were both ready.

From the moment her egg was laid, Fivwif was almost treated as if she was a legendary GoN herself. The Embers and Nebulas that made up her clan nestled her in a nest of fine coals, regularly talking to her through her shell. When she hatched, they fed her only the finest goats and sheep plucked from neighboring farms. As she grew, it was discovered that she was indeed a female and thus allowed to live in the clan, as only female red nebulas were allowed to join, so they took her atop a towering mountain to choose her nebula. Her mother pointed at a swirling crimson nebula, unclaimed by all others, though a tiny blue pattern of stars caught the hatchling's attention. The clan could only watch in horror as her jet black wings swirled with flashes of blue, a forbidden color. Her mother screamed and begged for her first born to be saved, trying to fight off the others. They agreed before the mother hurt herself, allowing the hatchling to live at the edge of their territory.

Not many dragons wish to come across the tiny Waverunner hatchling. Even if they tried, most of the year the stunted beast would simply be as if he never existed. However shortly before October rolls around the tiny hatchling could be found upon a hill overlooking a clearing where many dragons typically gather. He watches silently, always in deep thought. Its always on the seventeenth of the month he makes his decision of who is slaughtered first. The five dragons who posed the greatest risk to the safety of the clan were destined for the greatest punishment; trapped upon the mortal plane as a zombie. On the thirty-first, when the reviving begins, the hatchling chooses another five for hopeful reanimation. As soon as the slaying sword had been resharpened and the last spell cast, he disappears for another year.

I'd be worried if it wasn't considered creepy. I couldn't fit in a sentence that explained his frozen state fully, so I hoped that 'the stunted beast' would be enough. The actual dragon hatched on Aug 08, 2013, though the description counterpart is at least a hundred or so years old.

As I continue my cruel, evil inbreeding, I give you the Hapsburgs!

Joseph Franz Hapsburg, male Sunstone

Joseph Franz Hapsburg is the patriarch of a proud, albeit inbred, Sunstone family.  He believes in keeping the bloodline purely Hapsburg, and, excluding himself and his mate, has made sure that his children have kept to this policy.  In his eyes, this keeps the Hapsburgs pure and free from any messy, unworthy dragons.  However, Joseph Franz's obsession with purity has made him ostracized by the other dragons of the cave, and has caused his family to become isolated from the community he believes the Hapsburgs should rule.

Well, Miss Historypants Herk, it's either way. The Habs I believe is the traditional Germanic spelling while the Haps is the English spelling. Also I prefer the English spelling because if they had their own TV sitcom it could be called "What's the Haps?"

Maria Theresa Hapsburg, female Sunstone

Maria Theresa Hapsburg is the haughty matriarch of the inbred Hapsburg family.  Like her mate, Joseph Franz Hapsburg, Maria Theresa believes in keeping the family line pure.  She also believes in tiny green men who kidnap peasants in order to harvest their brains.  But the Hapsburgs claim that's simply the medicine talking.

As a hatchling, she ran away from her family because she felt too different and unwanted. She made her way to the Eastern Dragon Camp, which soon became the only real home she'd ever known. Easily the smartest dragon residing at the Camp, this dragoness dreams of one day becoming the finest architect her cave has ever seen. When not studying about things like flying buttresses and Gothic arches (Whatever those are, no one else in the cave seems to know, and if one were to ask her, she could go on for hours, so it's best not to ask.) she spends her time in combat training or keeping Percystorm (her mate, whom she jokes about having seaweed for brains) out of trouble. Even before her quest with the rest of The Seven, the pair had already had many adventures. Like the time they had to search for the Golden Sheepskin to heal a magic tree, or the time they held up a weight as heavy as the sky to rescue a trapped deity. As long as they're together, there's very little they can't accomplish.

Seven Dragons shall answer the call

To storm or fire the world must fall

An oath to keep with a final breath

And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death

This is the Prophecy of Seven, and while its meaning is mostly unclear, some of the events foretold have come to pass.

-

Originally from a land far to the north, this dragon came to the Western Dragon Camp in the hopes of learning the identity of his father. Once in the camp, however, most of the other dragons looked down upon him as he was shy and quite clumsy. The only thing he was good at was forming highly accurate 'arrows' with his combat magic. That all changed though, when he went on a quest with a Green dragoness (who he secretly had a crush on) and a strange Tsunami Wyvern who was a newcomer to camp, during which he grew into his potential as a great warrior. His specialty is not only his 'archery', but he is also a strategist and can use magic to disguise himself. As one of The Seven, he tries to prevent the apocalypse.

I was looking through the many descriptions of mine this week, and noticed a comment that really made my day.

A noble and kind dragon, The Studio's Secret is the sixteenth member of the Trial By Music clan.

Secret's song is one where a playwright is confronted about an incident five years ago. However, as soon as their suspicions are confirmed, the playwright summons a small group to get rid of them. The song requires three singers.

When not on-stage, Secret can often be found speaking with Overture or watching what events are going on at the current nearby villages in the area.

Sir Eggsitter enjoys sitting on eggs, as his name suggests, and some dragons simply call him "The Egg Lover" due to this. He sits on bird, reptile, and occasionally dragon eggs when his owner gives them to him. His "nest" consists of a pile of rocks. He has yet to crush any eggs.

My Avatar of Destruction

Refith uses his affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature to predict disasters such as forest fires and floods and then attempts to warn people about the impending danger. However, since this means that he is seen shortly before the disasters that he tries to warn people about, they think that he is the cause of said disasters. Because of this, Refith has no clan and is forced to keep moving, stealing food where he can from the edges of other clans' hunting grounds.

This little dragon prefers to remain nameless for "reasons of mysteriousness". She looks like a rock, especially since she likes sleeping in a tightly curled ball, but it doesn't take an igneous mind to look closer. Because she's often idle, other hatchlings think she's just a gneiss girl and take her presence for granite, but during the evening, she stays near a contested territory border with the adults for a reason. It takes a lot of bravery for someone so young to patrol, and no one her age is boulder than she is. She is a slate-of-the-art fighter with a hard head. Dragons who underestimate her cannot get past her rock-solid defense and gravel at her feet once they're walloped.

My Shallow Water with the code 'OM5TR':

This dragoness lives up to her name... well, mostly. It's true that her scales are an eye-catching shade of orange and she has a sunny, bubbly personality, but as far as her intelligence is concerned, she's really not all that bright. She insists that she is not a dragon at all but actually some kind of snail-like creature called an 'Omastar' (though none of her cavemates have ever heard of such a thing, her owner claims that they do in fact exist in a faraway place called Kanto) and so she spends most of her time swimming quite slowly along the bottom of the lagoon she calls home, happily eating algae and seaweed.

Majestic Sea Flap Flap is named after the most beautiful ocean creatures, the Sea Flap Flaps. Sea Flap Flaps are flat and are related to Sea Pancakes, except they're more rhombus-shaped, have two lobes on their heads, and don't have a stinging spine. They start out as adorable, slimy little pups and only get cuter as they grow up. MSFF likes following the Sea Flap Flaps and watching them feed on fish and crustaceans with their gaping mouths. Sometimes she'll join one at a reef when it gets its belly cleaned of debris. She has trained some of these majestic creatures to be ocean steeds. It's only a little scary when her ride leaps out of the water, gracefully flapping its fins, presumably because it wants to fly like her. "It's okay, Sea Flap Flap," she says to it. "You may one day become an Aerial Flap Flap. Never give up."

First try at a more sad, tragic-crazy description. This one has by far the most comments, and they're more intense than usual. Sorry guys wink.gif

Nobody knows what disaster fell upon this nameless dragon's family, just that her children disappeared days after they hatched and that one morning she found her mate dead inside a marsh, his body covered in horrible wounds. She has been consumed by insanity ever since and wanders by herself in the desert, shunned and feared by everybody.

Whenever she spots young Brimstone hatchlings, she swoops down and kidnaps them, holding them close until she realizes they are not her own. Her shattered mind blinded by despair, she then rips them apart with her claws and mouth.

Gotten a couple of comments on two of my Trial By Music dragons that I thought were nice.

A melancholic and lonesome dragon, TheWayThingsWere II is the fifteenth member of the Trial By Music clan.

Her song is a repeat of Way's. However, it's more downtrodden as the broken elder gives the defense a vital piece of evidence and recounts what happened five years prior. Were's song only requires one singer.

When she isn't on-stage, Were can often be found resting near The Fourth Alice's personal studio, watching her co-members prepare for meetings, or simply sleeping near Kim's camp.

A level-headed dragon, DecreeOfTheProsecutor is the eighteenth member of the Trial By Music Clan.

Decree's song is told from the other side's point of view. An individual who often goes against the defense, the prosecutor first questions what it means to be what his profession is. He soon turns around, determined to make criminals pay and seek the truth from his side. He then vows to meet this defense once again. This song only requires one singer, and it is the last song before intermission.

When he is off-stage, Decree is often seen sleeping in utterly random positions and places. This is because doing the musical several times a day does take its toll on the dragon.
