Posted May 27, 2016 Finally... 8th Gen PB Spring. https://dragcave.net/lineage/KGwN4 Does not look as good as before with thr new lineage view, unfortunately. I'll definitely finish all four seasons, but not sure about all the other commons... What do you people think about this change? Will you continue your luneage plans now? Share this post Link to post
Posted May 27, 2016 Congrats on the 8th gen! I'm a bit unhappy about the new look - I picked short names for all the dragons in this PB Red-finned Tidal lineage because they looked best with no space between the tiles. Now the extra space won't go away no matter how short the names are. Up to 4th gen (or maybe 5th) and for projects with random length names I think I can get used to it. I'd probably be more annoyed with the new look if I hadn't used up all my unhappiness when I saw the male Frills. I had two adult Frills from before they were retired, and they are both male, so all my hopes and plans for The Return Of The Frills (like 2nd gen Holidays from my one CB Frill) were based on how they used to look. I also really, really liked lineages like this, but they don't work anymore with the dimorphism. I hope there won't be more breeds that suddenly get retroactive dimorphism. It has a potential to ruin lineages no matter how pretty or cool the new sprite is. (The new male Frill does look cute to me when I enlarge the view page as much as my browser will allow. But in lineages it might just as well be a picture of a plant because the outline is not dragon shaped at all. ) Share this post Link to post

Amazing. Congrats! For pure seasonals, that's no small accomplishment. A lot of people don't realize that it takes years because of such a small breeding window. Are you thinking of continuing past 8? Getting to 9th gen is tough. 'Specially if you have a lot of distractions during the breeding window. My autumns have taught me that. I REALLY miss the old lineage view. It was nice, compact, organized and easy to read and I'm hoping that the new view is temporary. The way TJ mentioned it in the news post sounded like he was maybe just testing it out with the site. There was a time when TJ tried this with lineages. And as I recall, that didn't last very long. For the meantime I'll continue working on my projects. I posted a mockup of a Striped River x Hellhorse checker sometime ago. Well, I've got half of it done so far. Posted May 28, 2016 not sure what to think of the new view yet. on one hand, i like how you see the whole dragon instead of their head half or tail half depending on the direction they face. on the other hand, i'm not sure i like all the lines eventhough it looks more like a family tree type thing now. Posted May 30, 2016 4th Gen of my Eye of the Tiger lineage <3 1/4 of the way there, but I've got plenty of dragons for the next part of the first half, so that should be done fairly soon. Doesn't stop me being so damn happy with this bit :3 Share this post Link to post

Posted June 3, 2016 The dragons refuse to even go near each other. *sigh* Well, it's not for a project, but still... They were so perfect for each other. ;_; Share this post Link to post

Posted June 10, 2016 /sends out anti refusal vibes Just thought I'd mention I've seen a few, and caught, some almandines in the alpine lately. Perhaps the rarity has finally backed off a bit. Share this post Link to post

Posted June 12, 2016 (edited) After more than a year of regular breeding, I've finally managed getting my Angallis / Hellhorse checker up to 5th gen: http://dragcave.net/lineage/9mWB3 It took forever just to get these three (!!) hellhorses from Anagallis because my Anagallises hardly gave me anything but Anagallises (this: http://dragcave.net/progeny/c8zva is not uncommon). Only very recently has there been a "surge" of Hellhorses (that is, one in 10 attempts seems to be successful). I'm so motivated now that I might try a 6th gen. Also, isn't Magma x Nebula pretty? http://dragcave.net/lineage/ZfESC Edited June 12, 2016 by Fly-by-Night Share this post Link to post

Posted June 19, 2016 Is anyone else working on this combination? http://dragcave.net/lineage/eyuH3 I have a trade up in the even gen trade thread looking for a blood swap, either breed, but no nibbles so far. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 19, 2016 I wasn't trying it but I can try breeding one up for you real quick. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 19, 2016 https://dragcave.net/lineage/nD0of https://dragcave.net/lineage/OaHHH Looks like this is as far as I'm getting this spring. I put out a plea on trades and breeding threads for a 3g spring, but I think this is the last day for spring breeding, so I'm not holding out much hope. So, ta da for now! They didn't refuse and I am so happy with the way this lineage turned out . Share this post Link to post

They didn't refuse and I am so happy with the way this lineage turned out . I have the opposite genders up to 4g, and their beauty is why I tried to get to 4g with the male springs as well. Next year! Your lineage is marvelously ambitious and you succeeded! Congrats! Edited June 24, 2016 by stardust13 Share this post Link to post
Posted July 2, 2016 Huh, that almandine + spring is rather pretty. Nice find on that combo! /grabby hands at the epic nebula pairing Share this post Link to post
Posted July 5, 2016 Years ago I started my Neverending breeding project. Following my then guidelines, I did make it to 7th gen. With old breeding rules done away for metallics and the trio done away, it further expanded and my guidelines shifted even further and new hybrids also becoming available, I realized I didn't' have them in the project. I then decided to put it on the back burner. What I was wanting to ask is should I just start over with second gens and go from there? There are still a number of CBs I need to breed PBs of and I would like to get more of the hybrids in there. And I really turning this into a neverending project or should I just continue with where I left off? Share this post Link to post
Posted July 25, 2016 Is anyone else building male astrapi x GW ? I am, and I could use collaborators.... I'm stuck at 2 gen, and have trades up, but no takers. (Both my males made astrapi babies, and since then, both have produced GWs but I can't get bloodswaps for them ) Share this post Link to post
