By the way, do you know of any inbred checker that shows the repeated dragons? I wanted to offer to breed you a sibling of him, but they seem related and I don't know how much. Too many dragons to check manually. If there are just a few, maybe a lower gen would work?

Oh hay! I recognized half of your line. I may not have a consistent naming scheme but I recognize my own dragons. I do gift out eggs and drop the occasional long even gen into the AP. But if you'd like a mate, I can breed one very easily.

I am keeping my project scroll only otherwise I'd be begging lots of 2nd gens off people! lol!

So...I just realized I have enough miscolored CB nebs to do a purebred 5th gen of just reds and greens and still have some to spare. Yep.

 

I might be insane, but not enough to do two purebred nebula lines at the same time.

 

Heck, maybe by the time I've collected all the CBs I need I'll have enough red/greens to make another 5th gen, hah. I'm not quite halfway done with that. But for now, I've just named my new base pairs and set up my templates to keep track of it. The theme for this new one is Outlaw Star. To begin breeding after I'm done with the Babylon Project.

 

I really need some of my current projects to finish. >_< I just set up 4 new ones, wouldn't want to be bored or anything.

 

How many lineages do you usually handle at a time?

 

Technically I have 17, but most of them aren't active. Some are just hunting mates for AP-caught pretties, 2 are holidays, 1 is an out of season seasonal and several have been set up but I haven't started doing anything with them yet. I'm actually only actively breeding 3 of them. Of those, one is nearly complete, one is halfway there and the last is the nebulas, which is going to be ongoing probably through most of this year unless I get really super lucky with colors.

well i have something for the mardi gras project (purple, green and gold). to make a 7th gen parade marshall i do 8 different checkers. did one. working on another 7th gen line.

then i have a PB undine project. alternating gen colors. the last gen is stubbornly NOT turning yellow.

 

then i have a ice x winter checker. found half in the AP and of course couldn't throw it back. and of course it won't give me an ice....

 

then i have a black tea x swallowtail checker. got that to 4th gen and i can't decide if i should be done with it or not at 4th gen.

 

then i have a balloon x bleeding moon checker that refuses to give me a balloon at 3rd gen. so its stuck.

 

and then i have a purple x coastal waverunner checker that will be done at 5th gen if i ever get a purple out of it.

 

also making mates for my holidays i think i have 4 potential mates as eggs on my scroll at the present time.

 

and then i traded for a really pretty egg that's all wyverns that i will probably feel the urge to make a mate for. http://dragcave.net/lineage/5SWZ7 influenced it male. undecided if i should make an exact mate or a mirror. guess i have time to decide.

 

so that's 12 without holidays? still have more holiday mates i need for halloween and christmas. not sure what to do with the solstices cuz the ones i really wanted the blush wings for are plain blue and the ones that were ok with the blue wings are blush. there are a couple i bred potential mates for but i don't know what i want to do on the others.

 

thank god for google sheets. i would have probably inbred something by now without them. gotta finish naming my dragons and putting them in the appropriate places.

I feel a bit lazy after seeing something epic like that.

 

Luckily I didn't do much with Solstices. The only two I have were one from a gold which could have gone either color and one from a GoN. I'll probably leave the GoN alone and just try to find a mate for the x gold as I want it to go with my other Christmas x Golds.

Um, max. 7? That's the usual eggslot limit

 

There are a few checkers that I am always trying and always stuck on, like trying for tan Ridgewings from Tri-Horns or Silvers from green Coppers, and such. There are also a bunch on inbred lineages, mostly even-gens and one spiral.

 

I also wanted to do a checker of Avatars and blue-winged Solstices, but the 3rd gen I traded for had its mother turn rosy. Now I need to trade for another Avatar for the Solstice I will breed next Christmas, and I'll need to trade for another Solstice next Christmas for the Avatar I have.

 

Another Avatar lineage is still in the planning phase. Avatar from white-winged Snow Angel (I'll need to trade for the 2nd gens) with Soulpeaces from Daydream fathers. Might start that after Valentine's, provided I haven't forgotten about it until then.

My problem is keeping track of them all. Every now and then I go through my scroll, and find all sorts of UFPs. Usually halted by events, and then forgotten about. Then I pick them up and make mistakes like this I was meant to be replacing the regular Black with an Alt. It's off to the AP, unless anyone wants to rescue it first.

 

I have 2 Solstice's from Gold, 1 blush and 1 blue , guess I'll have to remedy that next Christmas.

I've started too many. Over twenty. But many of them involve metallics or holidays, so I simply spend my time either breeding them week after week and tossing common offspring to ap or waiting for the breeding season. Even in case of (un)commons it's also easy to get stuck on something like this (first problem: get them to produce nebulas, second: get nebulas to color red - this one is the lucky exception ) or this, so it's taking me ages to finish something (and by finish I mean reach 5th gen). I have them all listed in one spreadsheet (and I always forget to update it )

There are no Nebulae in your link to a project about Nebulae, but I love what you linked instead. And I bet getting Magmas out of them was no easy task as well.

 

And about commons holding up projects... I had many, this is the one in (more or less) progress:

The upper line of my "All Blue" lineage is supposed to consist of Waters. How hard can it be to get a Water, right ?

Well, start by breeding a Water to an Ice:

1. Refusal

2. no egg

3. no egg

4. Ice

5. Ice

6. no egg

7. Water

Weird. Allright, now to 3rd gen, this time 2nd gen Water + 2nd gen Skywing:

1. Skywing

2. no interest

3. no interest

4. no interest

5. Bluna (I never even thought about that possibility in this case. Yet there it was, of course, those two can make a hybrid.

6. Bluna (Yes, allright, got it.)

7. no egg

8. no interest

And trying...

In the lower half, I need a Royal Blue from Blue-banded, at least here I expected it to be a pain. (But I want my beloved Royal Blues to make up the frame.)

 

And I'd be absolutely lost without my Excel spredsheets on as good as all my lineages.

@ nooey yes , it does help to go back through ones scroll now and again, I find stalled projects all the time and usually they finish faster

I try to keep working projects together on my scroll so when I have breeding room I go down the page until I get an egg !!!

It seems like some of the older commons are out of whack. Someone posted they hadn't seen greens in awhile and made me realize I hadn't either. I think TJ replied that they had been at least 1 that weekend. But... 1? That's rarer than metals. There's a person in the lineage thread that's been trying to get a black out of black carmine. At least 5 of us have tried and all come up empty.

 

I'd actually LOVE to try a Blue nebula x winter. But My last neb breeding was 5/6 red. So I'm not sure it's practical right now until the ratios work themselves out.

 

I also tried my Gold x Arsani, but no luck.

3rd Heartseeker x Waverunner - I just love this lineage, but I'm afraid there aren't too many people doing it. Still, this is the one that's most important to me of all these.

I have a 2G Pink from Alt Sweet x BP, but alas no 2G Sweetling from same to be her mate. I *do* have a Sweetling from Reg Sweetling and new Pink that I was planning to maybe use as a mate this year. It wouldn't be a perfect match, but I could try them and send you the egg in case you don't find something better? (And *this* year I'll see if I can't find a better mate!)

 

ETA: Oooo, also not quite the same, but I have a Sweetling from alt Sweet x Flamingo. The colours might be a better match?
