Why impossible? CB Nebulas are usually easy to swap, in my experience ...

No one wants red/green right now. Everyone wants blue/purple, self included. If they were easier to trade I wouldn't have ~20 miscolored CBs on my scroll...

 

My last neb turned purple overnight, yay! 3/5 isn't terrible.

I saw a 3rd gen that had used luminas in place of the Tinsels, if you can't find a tinsel based mate maybe a 3rd gen checker with luminas would be a good replacement??

I tried a pair of each but I got a blue ridgewing and purple dorsal.

 

Also, in a similar vein (but easier) to two posts above me, I'm hoping to get a mate for this dude.

While I don't have a "proper" mate for them, I'll be more than glad to breed a 3G pink from Male Silvers if you don't find something more suitable last minute. My sweetling is still being stubborn with my ridgewings. I think he's just jealous of all my tan ridgie pairs with other people's dragons.

It's 2nd gen 2009 from purple and skywing. The parents used to have cute names which sadly got lost to inactivity. I usually just stairstep them. Granted, I realize I am asking in a thread with deep biases But should I continue stairstepping and not even-gen them? I wouldn't do it to build a line for me, but just for breeding to the ap during the holidays. I guess part of me is worrying people won't like them due to the nameless parents or that maybe stairsteps are becoming too rare. They are easier for newbies to breed with.

Best gifts for newbies - via AP or directly - are indeed stairs, I think, especially when the mate is a common like a Daydream.

I actually caught 2 this week, while I never seem to be able to catch the other Seasonals, and need to trade for them.

 

Golds, on the other hand, are quite an issue still.

I derped on winters. I had casually been looking in Forest for a couple and remembered yesterday they were in Alpine. Refreshed on the hour and saw two pyralspites and a gold go by in 2 seconds. I was not ready to see that. I kinda went. o.O' O.o' O.O! then /nab winter >.<

 

It didn't seem too bad to catch a couple winters but it did take a hour of randomly checking on drop refreshes.

Usually my metals are quite happy to breed for gifting, but today, my 3 female CB Golds were not so nice...

I'm kind of thinking gold x arsani might be the way to go, since it seems highly unlikely I'll ever get a perfect mate, sadly, and mirrors are impossible with holidays. The issue I have with silvers is that they aren't, well, shiny enough. Both tinsels and arsanis have very deep colors and I want to keep that trend in his mate.

 

If anyone can breed a 3rd gen arsani from gold checker, I would love to do a trade! Otherwise I can breed it myself, it'll just take an extra year.

 

Alternately, if anyone has a 2nd gen arsani from a gold, I can try to breed a gold mate for it in exchange for a 3rd gen this year. I just don't want to have to wait an extra year...

I have a 2G Arsani from Gold too, though my last attempt to breed her a mate didn't work. I think my CB Arsanis are free to breed in a day or so...

Why not have both options? Get mates to even gen both of them and you can breed commons in the off-season and stairs during V-day breeding. Both are moderately popular mates for 09s and people are always looking for 3G mates in the off-season.

 

You could also breed one as an even gen this year, one as a stair, then switch which you EG and stair next year. People also need the 09s as EG mates, too. ~_^

also, I tried my Arsani and so did hubby - no eggs, 1 refusal.

 

I guess when everyone is breeding in the month before Valentine's Day, it affects the chance of getting something.

 

For next year I think I'll do this during the summer. And I think I'll start on Halloween pretty soon

If you don't mind waiting a week, I can get you one after breeding a mate for my 2nd gen Lurker. She's been needing one since 2013, so getting you a 3rd gen would be a good motivation.
