Posted December 16, 2012 I'm making a lineage of tag lines or jokes from Yu-Gi-Oh: the Abridged Series, and I may have a couple of names that I need checked out. I'm going to guess no but doesn't hurt to check. Wanker's Cramp http://dragcave.net/lineage/FOgFL I'm Not Gay I'm Just British http://dragcave.net/lineage/mNTQj Definitely no to the first and I would avoid the second as to not offend people. I agree with the song lyrics - with so many of us finding them questionable, I would just go with your really clever grain substitutions. =p Kaelaboo - are you asking about "Naked Heat by Richard Castle" or "Naked Heat"? First might be okay, second is really iffy. Share this post Link to post

Posted December 16, 2012 Those seem fine to me. I got a serious giggle out of Winker's Cramp, imagining your dragon winking at everyone that walked by and wigging out by the end of the day because of a painful eyelid. I think that guys needs a description. ;p Share this post Link to post

Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Would it be inappropriate, if I used the following names: The Cry of the Devil http://dragcave.net/lineage/t22m The Hellish Howl http://dragcave.net/lineage/UYYW There's no real reason for having such names, except that I'm planing on starting to breed mints, and wanted to name all the males in angelic/demonic way, and all the females in above mentioned style. Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) I decided to rename a dragon and thought up of a random name on which I simply slapped on the dragon. Didn't think much of it until recently. Cognac Blitzer http://dragcave.net/lineage/n4B3 Edit: Oh, didn't notice that Z, thanks. Edited December 30, 2012 by Durppie Share this post Link to post
Posted December 28, 2012 Cognac Blitzer is fine, (when posting links you need to be exact, your link is to another members dragon.) http://dragcave.net/lineage/n4B3 Share this post Link to post
Posted January 5, 2013 I am a massive fan of the show Avatar: The Last Airbender, and have named some of my dragons after characters in the show, notably Aang of Benders and Zuko of Benders. Obviously, the names are meant to reflect the show, where 'Benders' are the people who have the ability to 'bend' elements - air, water, fire, or earth - to their will. It has come to my attention recently that in Britain, 'bender' can be a term that means something entirely awkward instead. Should I change Aang and Zuko's names to, for example, 'Aang of Airbenders' and 'Zuko of Firebenders', or are their names acceptable as they stand? Share this post Link to post
Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) LibbyLishly, I thought both names as they stand were fine. Edited January 8, 2013 by purpledragonclaw Share this post Link to post

Posted January 18, 2013 Kshitij is an actual name, although it contains a rather impolite English word. Thoughts? Share this post Link to post
Posted January 18, 2013 I was looking for a plant name for one of my Vines and found Horehound... That wine is already named... I wonder if it would be alright to name a dragon Hanukkah I was tempted to use that name but didn't dare to keep it. Hannukah would if approved be used either as a surname or first part of a name. If Hanukkah would be offensive than what about Hannu (Hannu is the Finnish version of John) so it's a real name as is Kah which is a real surname. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 19, 2013 Name of dragon: Q'piss II Link of dragon: http://dragcave.net/lineage/qpi5S Right, a bit of background: I name all of my dragons directly after their codes - starting with the first letter of the code, using all the letters in their codes, in order, with leet-speak substitution of letters for numbers, with the minimum number of additional letters and no more than one apostrophe to make them pronounceable. (Followed by a roman numeral indicating gen, and possibly a surname after that). Up until now this has been fine, but as you can see, following these rules the little one above ends up with the word 'piss' in his name. I'm not sure whether this counts a 'vulgar' word - I personally wouldn't think so, but I thought it was worth running the idea past some other people just in case! Share this post Link to post
Posted January 20, 2013 There's nothing wrong with the name "Hot Sauce from Hell", is there? I just wanted to check. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 20, 2013 There's nothing wrong with the name "Hot Sauce from Hell", is there? I just wanted to check. Seems fine to me. Zaxian - as I'm not sure about your name, I'll let another mod answer. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 20, 2013 I would say it's fine as it's not censored on the board and you're not using it in any kind of inappropriate manner. I don't use the word myself, but I think it's okay [Zaxian's name] in that manner. Share this post Link to post

Posted January 22, 2013 Thanks for the answers guys, I'm still a little undecided myself, but 'Q' is a tough letter to start a name with and I'm a little stumped trying to think up other variations that don't involve adding lots of superfluous letters . I think I'll leave it as is for the time being (going on Sock's reasoning that it's not censored on the forums) but I'm open to other suggestions! Share this post Link to post
Posted January 22, 2013 I have been been working on the poem, The Purple Cow, and will eventually have some rather pretty Purples quoting the poem. The initial poem is no problem. I never saw a Purple Cow, I never hope to see one; But I can tell you, anyhow, I'd rather see than be one. However, there is a follow-up that I also want to use, expressing the poet's regrets for the original poem. Can I use the last line of the follow-up, or should I modify the threat for the Cave? Ah, yes, I wrote the "Purple Cow" - I'm Sorry, now, I wrote it; But I can tell you Anyhow I'll Kill you if you Quote it! By the way, the murderous author died in 1951, and never killed anybody.
