Sky Shiner just kept his head low. He was shy, afraid of the world again. He was not reassured by Stoneza's words. Oh gosh, he was going to lose his nerve any moment now. Sky began to quiver all over again.

Scarleon walked through the freezing forest, each head looking around for possible attackers. "Well, it looks like nobody's here, so let's just go to sleep, okay?" said the left head of Scarleon, with a male personality.

 

"Why do you have to spoil all the fun?" complained the right head, which due to Scarleon's unusual genetic condition, was female. "Let's go explore! Maybe we'll meet some other hatchlings!" Taking control of the rest of the body, she flew into the air and out of the forest.

Combine fluttered her wings. She stretched every limb on her body and pounced on Jessamine. Jessamine woke up with a small bird like screech. Thetwo tackled and played for a few minutes. Columbine was the first to roll away. "Common Jess, we need to go hunt. I know a place full of mice!" she said bounding away. Let's see if Jess follows me... she thought happily.

 

Jessamine stood in a tired fashion. "Alright, I'm coming!" she chased Columbine out of their little hole in the ground. Jess ran up the nearest tree with Columbine following close behind. "Wait for me!" the little Soulpeace shouted at Jess. Jessamine slowed down and rested on a large tree branch. Columbine caught up and panted. Out of shape, hey? Jessamine chuckled to herself.

Sky Shiner quietly slid off Stoneza. Slithering off, he found another rock. He curled up behind it. What was wrong with him? Who was that evil dragon he'd met earlier?

 

Now that he was alone, he relaxed. He was bold. Brave. Being around others just hindered him. No way he was returning to the others, now that he had found this new joy, this...pleasure. He giggled, the rock shielding him from the sun.

Crusher crested a hill to scout a little make sure there was no trouble ahead. The quest its self had been trying and hard. Even he head a number of new scars on his bright orange hide. After locating Gretsen the weakened GoN she told them where they might find something to combat his evil counter part. Fighting through strange creatures, avoiding human settlements, Crusher and the others still with him had pressed on.

"All clearly." he said behind him limping forward as his injured hind paw touched the ground. He was not flying to avoid attracting attention. But his foot had been badly cut in his last fight.

Sky Shiner didn't say anything in reply to Crusher. He was really antisocial and would have preferred to be on his own but he stuck with the group, anyway, since he knew himself that there was no way possible that he could face Evil Crusher alone, especially now as he was still a hatchling, albeit a matured one now. Narrowing his eyes, he looked around warily as he slithered forward along with Crusher. He had grown quite a bit now and also earned a few scars, though not as many as Crusher.

 

His eyes caught sight of Crusher limping and he averted his gaze. He felt sympathetic for his...friend but he didn't want to expose such emotion.

It's been a few years since Crusher found Irah in the forest.

As soon as Crusher gave the signal Irah emerged from a cluster of bushes. In her mouth were a few branches which were strung with bright red berries. "These berries taste amazing!" she said, and that's when she noticed that Crusher was walking with a limp. "You should rest, Artemis will be here soon." she said, her voice quieting down somewhat.

Crusher nodded and sighed "We can't afford to pause." he said before closing his eye's and sighed "Alright, we'll rest here." he said opening his eye's again and looking around before sitting down though his eye's always watchful now. The last fight the creature had crushed his hind foot in the last fight. While it was still in one piece it sure as heck did ot feel that way when it made contact with anything. "Irah, where did you find those berries?" he asked looking at them.

Artemis trudged through the greenery with little fanfare and joined the group. "I nearly lost you guys from the last rest stop!" she complained, albeit good-naturedly. "I'll have you know that hygiene and thorough cleaning is a must for a dragoness like me!" She plopped herself next to Crusher and grimaced at the salty scent wafting near her. She looked down and pulled back slightly, catching sight of Crusher's paw. "We should get that attended... I can try healing that if we can find a body of water," she offered, though not so hopefully. She remembered the last time they stopped at a lake she got distracted so much that she didn't realize the group had moved on.

"In a bush...by the river." said Irah as she grasped the branches with one hand and plucked the berries with the other. She looked up at Crusher with an innocent smile unaware that her face was covered in berry juice.

Just then Artemis showed up as expected and Irah moved aside to give her some space. She didn't mention the river again knowing that Crusher already knew where it was.

Crusher smiled a little as Artemis came and caught up and said her lines. He never understood her mind set of looking like she flew all the time but, he had no reason to argue.... besides slowing the group down at times but he already tried having tht talk with her.

"The old rivers close by. I suppose we could make a stop there, grab a drink, patch up then find our tunnel entrance." he said before looking at and sighed "Irah, you got lucky again, please don't pick and eat random berries, you haven't found too many of the bad ones thankfully. I don't want to see you ill alright?" he said in his best fatherly tone before looked at Sky "And how are you?" he asked making sure he did not leave Sky out of the group.

Irah's smile quickly faded. Crusher made a good point and he wasn't the type to be easily fooled into thinking there was no way she could cause trouble.

"Okay father..." she said reluctantly, unable to think of what else to say. She dropped the branches and parked herself near Sky Shiner, clearly unimpressed by how her day was going.

<OOC: Wait, Crusher's Irah's dad? Did I miss something? Also, LLD, do you think you could pinpoint our location (if we're using the map, of course)?>

 

Sky Shiner looked at Crusher as the Magi dragon spoke to him.

 

"...I'm fine," he answered, turning away as he spoke. His eyes swept over the skies and he found himself wishing fervently that he could fly. If he did, he would attract unwanted attention as he had been warned by Crusher. He scowled, lightly slapping his tail against the ground. He was fairly good at flying now, having been practising as time passed.

((lol no you haven't, he more or less adopted Irah before when he first found her. He has no mate yet to have hatchlings with. As for the map, bottom left hand corner just below the point where the map ends.))

 

Crusher nodded "Thank you Irah. If you find berriers you think you'd like, show me them first alright? I'll let you know if there safe or not and if so, then you may have them." he explained as Sky looked into the sky. "Alright, lets get to that river. Besides, I am kind of thirsty from all this walking." he said standing back up wincing as his injured foot touched the ground for a moment.

Artemis hopped to her feet and bounded ahead, excited at the prospect of a possible grooming time. "I'll meet you guys there" she shouted before her bushy tail disappeared from view. The bushes shook and rustled violently after her trail.

Crusher nodded and watched Artimes take off before he started to limp after her "Alright, Come on, after this stop we then locate the tunnels again so we can find Gretsen, and see just how do we use what we found." he said keeping his injured foot off the ground. His wings where half extended to help with balance as well as hit tail on the ground to steady. He paused though looking back at the Hatchlings waiting for them. He never let them out of his sight if he had the option.

"Yes father..." Irah replied before tagging along with the others. She knew it wouldn't be long before she was at the berries again, she couldn't help it, when she caught sight of them she would always forget the consequences of eating too many.

As the hatchlings followed behind Crusher Irah kept looking back at Sky Shiner. "Hurry up Sky!" she shouted, walking at a slower pace so he could catch up.

Sky Shiner suppressed a growl as Irah called to him. Instead of replying, he slithered after the others, catching up with them. He did not look at Irah. He merely ignored her. He knew that he might seem grumpy, but he just didn't know how to react to others. Was he supposed to look at her? What for? What was he supposed to say back to her, anyway? So, most of the time, Sky resorted to complete ignorance to stop the annoying questions bugging his mind.

Crusher waited till Sky had caught up before resuming limping. He looked behind him to make sure neither had run off from time to time and noticed Irah's look "Eat too many berriers and you'll look like one." he teased trying to cheer her up before he paid for not looking where he was going and his injured foot caught on a stump making him wince gritting his teeth "And I gotta make sure my foot does not make contact, or I'll have no more foot." he said half to himself as they went.

Irah could never figure out why Sky was always so timid. It seemed like no matter what she said or did Sky rarely said anything. His typical response was to just nod or stare at her but that didn't stop Irah from at least trying to get to know him a bit better. She waited till Crusher had focused his attention on his injured foot before leaning over to Sky. "I'll show you where the berries are once we get there." she whispered, hoping to get a reaction from him.

Artemis bounded towards the sound of the river and jumped in with a happy squeal. Water splashed the dry banks and soaked her to the bone. She yelped. "Ahh! That's cold!" She dunked her head into the current and let it wash off any dust clinging onto her fur and antlers. Then she floated belly up and relaxed in the water, using her tail to gently guide herself within the area if the current pushed her too far.

Crusher continued to limp to the river and after a bit, reached it. He waded into the cool water before sitting on his hanches to one side to keep weight off his injured foot but have it in the water. "Ahhhhaaahha" he sighed as the water washed over the sensitive foot. He looked back at Irah and saw more berry juice on her lips. that little one just loved her berries. thankfully she was not finding the poison ones. Plus, he could not be too hard on her, so young and already gone through so much and yet still fnds it in her self to be the hatchling she was. "Come on in Irah, waters not to bad, plus a certain hatchling needs to clean her lips as well." he said with a smile

Irah turned away from Sky after being ignored completely. "Fine, more for me than." she said bitterly.

Once they got to the river Irah jumped into the water with a splash and paddled alongside Crusher. "Are you better now?" she asked, unaware that things took time to heal.

Artemis turned around once she heard splashing and swam towards the group. She ducked down and inspected Crusher's paw before popping to the surface again. "Want me to try healing that?" she offered.
