Book Title: Translations of Beauty

Author: Mia Yun

Rating: 5/5

Review: Quite a moving novel about a Korean immigrant family in the US, who leave Korea in hopes that their daughter with a disfigured face due to a childhood accident would have a future and about her indentical twin's resentment about having been spared.

Could we have a contest to see who wins first (I'm a super crazy reader for my age)? Then when each person finishes the 250, mark the date?

I would like to join this project. I tried to join the last one and just lost the motivation to actually keep track of every book that ran through my hands.

I do need to know if omnibuses count as one book or however many books they've combined. Because depending on definition, it really changes the number of books I've read today. If they count as one book, I'll come back and edit this to reflect the proper numbers.

Bear in mind when you look at these numbers that I don't have kids, I didn't have to work today, I'm not in school, and I average about 150-200 pages an hour when I'm really into something. That said...

Book Title: Night World Series - Dark Angel

Author: L.J. Smith

Review: Am going to write one review for all 9 books in this series. Not extremely well written. It is definitely a teeny-bopper supernatural series. This is a reread since the first time I read them (I think I was 12) I didn't know they had an order and just read them at random from the library. I missed a couple of the series and the storyline makes a lot more sense now. I am extremely upset that book number 9 came out in 1998 and book number 10 is not scheduled for publication until 2012. How long does it take to write a very simple supernatural book?

Book Title: Dark Visions - The Strange Power

Author: L J Smith

Review: Not bad. Another series with a very very juvenile writing style. This is another re-read from my early teen years. The story interested me back then, before I'd really learned what quality writing was, and it is still good for a read if you want something simple. The kind of book where you don't have to think much because you aren't supposed to.

Book Title: The Mortal Insturments: City of Bones

Author: Cassandra Clare

Review: Very predictable. Without giving anything away, I can say that I kind of knew what plot twist they were going to throw at us at the end of this one (knew it from about 30 pages in) and I have a feeling I know what is going to happen at the end of the series. Not a bad read though. Definitely earned its place in the Young Adult section. Another good one if you don't want to think too much.

Erm, don't mean to be a bother, but you added my name but no book numbers? I've got two so far; the first one was here and the second was here.

Edit: The edits to those posts weren't actual edits, just btw (I didn't alter the text at all). I just wasn't sure how else to get the direct link to the post. xd.png

I don't mean to sound annoying, but on the list it says Raistlin (24) and it should be Raistlin24 (3).
