Review: They keep hinting at what I figure is going to happen. I'm a little disappointed that this is coming off as predictable as it is, but I have to finish the series just to see if I'm right or not.

Book Title: The Dark Elf Trilogy Book One: Homeland

Author: R. A. Salvatore

Review: I cannot recommend this series highly enough! The first chapter is terrible to get through, but after that, it's insanely amazing. This is a trilogy in the Forgotten Realms (DnD). It follows a drow prince named Drizzt Do'Urden and his coming to terms with his race's lack of honor and integrity.

Book Title: City of Glass

Author: Cassandra Clare

Review: I thought that was how it was going to end. Everything wrapped up nicely, and I'd been predicting the plot "twist" since around page 30 of the first book. I'm still going to be buying the next book when it comes out, just to see where she is going to go with the series next. There is also a prequel series that she has started to release, so I'm going to have to read that as well. The writing style didn't change though. It was still very juvenile and predictable. I suppose if I want deep, thought producing literature I should probably stop shopping in the Young Adult section.

After this, everything is going to be rereads for a while, at least until I get some money together and pay my library fines or get back to the book store. New books just don't last long enough.

Book Title: League Of The Scarlet Pimpernel

Author: Baroness Orczy

Rating: 3/5

Review: This was a series of little adventures The Scarlet Pimpernel got into in France. These adventures took place after The Scarlet Pimpernel, the novel. It became a source of amusement for me to guess which character was Sir Percy Blakeney in disguise. I would have liked to have seen more of the other men in the League, though.

Book Title: Death of a Pirate King [e-book]

Author: Josh Lanyon

Rating: 3/5

Review: I liked the mystery although I regret ruining the journey by peeking at the end. Although I enjoyed Adrien's new family, I did not think that the author portrayed his new 12-year old kid step-sister very well. She seemed way too young. There was also something else that irked me but I cannot seem to remember what it was.

Book Title: Red Azalea

Author: Anchee Min

Rating: 4.5/5

Review: Anchee Min's first published book are her memoirs about growing up in the communistic China and about the hardships she endured before emigrating to the States in 1984., including being forced to name her favourite teacher as a traitor to the nation, being a communal farmstead worker and working in a film studio and acting for a never-released movie right before the death of Mao Zedong. It was quite powerful in a horrifying sense and I'm eager to pick up some of Min's novels the next time when I visit the library.

I'd like to join this too, even though it's a bit late... I just want to see how many books I can read during the time that's left. ^^
