Posted November 19, 2010 it, how do you guys "run out" of books? I have a to-be-read list over 150 long.. :'P Who ran out of books? If you mean why are rereading, I love rereading my books. I work at a library and could have a pile of new books (like I do now) and still reread older books. It's mostly what I'm in the mood for. Book number: 88 Number of pages: 250 Title: The Man Who Doesn't Take Off His Clothes 2 (Yaoi NOVEL) ~R~ Author: Narise Konohara Review: I like book 2 better than book 1, and I've read them both so much, I just skipped to book 2 this time. Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) I apologize to the mods as well. I made an error with my counting; counted #26 twice. Book Number: 29 Number of pages: 248 pgs [paperback] Book Title: Death of a Pirate King [e-book; reread] Author: Josh Lanyon Book Number: 30 Number of pages: 304 pgs [paperback] Book Title: The Dark Tide [e-book; reread] Author: Josh Lanyon Book Number: 31 Number of pages: 400 pgs [paperback] Book Title: The Further Observations of Lady Whistledown [e-book] Author: Julia Quinn, Suzanne Enoch, Karen Hawkins, Mia Ryan Rating: 3/5 Review: It was a nice and fluffy read after reading the angsty Not Quite a Husband and the Adrien English rereads. The style of these authors is humorous and light-hearted, one of my favorite styles to read. It took me a while to warm up to these stories. It started off with Suzanne Enoch's. Although I liked the story (and the hero), the heroine was spoiled and irritated me. The middle two stories were okay but seemed to end abruptly. I did like how one of the hero's flaw was his inability to speak properly after being wounded in the head during war. The last story for Julia Quinn's, and although the world felt more comfortable (Lady Whistledown's Regency being her creation), I think that I liked her story the least. Book Number 32: Number of pages: 288 pgs [Amazon.com Large Print] Book Title: Emergency: Wife Lost and Found [e-book] Author: Carol Marinelli Rating: 4/5 Review: For a free e-book, I was surprised to like it so much. Book Number: 33 Number of pages: 288 pgs [Amazon.com Large Print] Book Title: The Daddy Dilemma [e-book] Author: Karen Rose Smith Rating: 3/5 Review: The heroine impressed me. Book Number: 34 Number of pages: 224 pgs [paperback] Book Title: An Honorable Texan [e-book] Author: Victoria Chancellor Rating: 2/5 Review: In a word, boring. Rest of review up on Goodreads. Book Number: 35 Number of pages: 256 pgs [paperback] Book Title: To Protect The Child [e-book] Author: Anna DeStefano Rating: 4/5 Review: I liked it. It got a bit difficult to suspend disbelief at certain points but I managed it. It got better once the truth came out. I liked the characters. The end seemed a bit sudden but it wasn't too bad. Book Number: 36 Number of pages: 384 pgs [paperback] Book Title: To Wed a Scandalous Spy Author: Celeste Bradley Rating: 4/5 Review: Fun. Book Number: 37 Number of pages: 192 pgs [paperback] Book Title: Their Newborn Gift [e-book] Author: Nikki Logan Rating: 3/5 Book Number: 38 Number of pages: 357 pgs [paperback] Book Title: Her Vampire Husband [e-book] Author: Michele Hauf Rating: 3/5 Book Number: 39 Number of pages: 224 pgs [paperback] Book Title: Cody [e-book] Author: Kimberly Raye Rating: 2/5 Review: Meyer gives us sparkling vampires. Raye gives us vamps with built-in color changing eyes - with random magical abilities. NOT RECOMMENDED for persons under 18 and those who like good quality writing and story. Book Number: 40 Number of pages: 256 pgs [paperback] Book Title: His Son's Teacher [e-book] Author: Kay Stockham Rating: 3/5 Review: It was interesting. Hero - not perfect; has some sort of reading disability. Book Number: 41 Number of pages: 352 pgs Book Title: Play of Passion Author: Nalini Singh Rating: 3/5 Review: The last couple were just okay. I had liked them but not so much. This was seemed better. Book Number: 42 Number of pages: 304 pgs [paperback] Book Title: Enchanting the Lady [e-book] Author: Kathryne Kennedy Rating: 2/5 Review: I've never liked fantasy-based romance (as opposed to some romance in fantasy books). I also really don't like alternative reality. This book did not change my mind about either. It's sort of interesting, nonetheless. I'm just glad that I didn't pay for it, especially since the paperback is apparently coming out with a $14 price tag. No thanks! Edited December 2, 2010 by Maladroit Share this post Link to post
Posted November 19, 2010 Book Number: 6 Number Of Pages: 348 Book Title: Lord of the White Hell: Book One Author: Ginn Hale Rating:4.5/5 Review: Note: This book has an R rating and should not be read by minors. Also, it has gay people in it, so if you're a bigoted loser that bothers you, you shouldn't read it, either. Anyway, this was great! I've read some of Hale's work before and enjoyed it, and this was the same. My only complaint is that she could use a better editor; there are some minor typos and awkward sentences the the editor should have caught. (I'd have given it a full 5/5 if it wasn't for that. On the other hand, I was up until 3:30am reading it, so it clearly wasn't that distracting!) It's quite gripping, also sweet and funny in all the right places. I believe I've guessed who the Real Bad Guy is (I'm pretty good at guessing red herrings, I watch too many crime shows) but I have no idea how they're going to defeat him, so I'm very much looking forward to the next book! First book in the trilogy here's a quote explaining why you should read it: "Ford, there's an infinite number of monkeys outside who want to talk to us about this script for Hamlet they've worked out." This is, again my second time reading this book. I absorbed it better the second time around. I loved this series and was very sad to see it end. I do so hope she makes another Trilogy set in this world. Share this post Link to post

Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) Book Number: 7 Number Of Pages: 343 Book Title: Lord of the White Hell: Book Two Author: Ginn Hale Rating: 5/5 Review: It's been a long time since I have literally not been able to put a book down. Normally I interrupt my reading to get up and pace, imagining how the scene would go if I was the one who'd written it before sitting back down to find out what actually happens. This book? Reached page 280 or so and it was impossible to stop reading. I was right about who the Real Bad Guy was, but it was such a delight to read how they defeated him; never could have seen any of it coming. Also, the little errors that had been bugging me in the first book are mostly gone now (only one or two that I can think of), so that's good. The only real problem with Hale's work is that they're never long enough -- her last book (before this series) was way too short (only a novella, really) and now I want a third book about what these two get up to now that they're off traveling! ...But I have to actually do the work I've been putting off all day, so I couldn't read it if even it existed. *sigh* Ah, my lot in life. Edit for an embarrassing spelling fail! Edited November 21, 2010 by Danne Share this post Link to post
Posted November 21, 2010 Book Number: 90 Number Of Pages: 254 Book Title: Love & Loyalty ~R~ Author: Tere Michaels Review: I actually read this yesterday morning after I posted Spy Glass. I don't like this one as much as her first one. I didn't even know they were in the same world until I caught on that Jim was the one Evan had the one night stand with back in Book 1! Don't know how I missed that the first time around, but this is why rereading is so great! And I just discovered there's a Book 3!!! Now if only I could save up enough money to buy it.
