Naming, after parents.

I found it pretty funny today when i was looking at old offspring of my dragons...

I have a CB Terrae named Sarionan.. Someone named her tinsel failed offspring Sarionan II. Haha real creative

I like to combine names when possible =) With shimmers though I try to name them with something from the original Shimmer's name, it helps me remember by glancing at their names which line they're from ^^

One of my pink dragon's named Bridge To Nowhere had a child named Deadend Thuwed. It makes sense, because it was around a 10th gen and I breeded it with a first gen *shudders*... not that exciting, but my bests are below.

I quite often take inspiration from parents or ancestors when naming my dragons.

Haven't had any of my dragons' offspring named after them AFAIK - most of the bred eggs I've abandoned have just ended up nameless.

 

Edit: Actually, just found out one of my abandoned eggs is named after its parents - Pemnola Thuwed, from my dragons Nikolana the Silver and Pemned Thuwed. Really happy about that!

(Yes, I am aware the lineage is horrendous.)

I've named some of mine for their parents, and found that some of my dragons descendants are named for them, which makes me squee inside.

I bred my holly for gifting last Christmas and got four eggs in the clutch. Now, usually when I multiclutch, I expect just one egg to be named. Two, if I'm lucky. However, I was very happy to discover that all four of Merripocalpse's offspring were named. Of those, three kept the naming theme. :3 I do like the Sir Happy as well; I like to think he was named that because the owner was happy to have caught a holly. Gives me Christmas fuzzies. ^^

 

If you're wondering, the only reason I mixed Merri's name with the apocalypse was because I got him in 2012. You know, when the world was supposed to end.

Once i abandoned a gold egg from 2 golds i bred named Gold Potato and Expensive Potato. About a month later i checked their egg and saw the person who got it named the gold egg Metallic Potato. I was like i think its happened about 2 other times but i forget which dragons.
