Naming, after parents.

Despite what I said earlier, I have looked through some progenies, and now I can proudly name one of those "exceptions" I love a lot.

Wow, I certainly name a lot of dragons after parents!

As an aside, I name some Tinselkins after their CB Tinsel ancestors: Golden Sunlight Of Epicness, Epic Gold Rarity, Booo I'm Not A Silver Tinsel, Apollo's White Messenger.

I picked up a longer lineaged shimmer for a trade, despite having a shorter of the same one offered, because of the names. The shorter one had broken the cycle. And it's too cute, I <3 it!

 

So far, the people that have dragons from it are continuing the trend :3

I happened to be gifted this shimmer where every surname is Vincent. And all my tri hornes are named after female artists, mainly Impressionists. So I had to continue that convention in the offspring. I've been able to add 4 steps to the stair so far myself and love what the person named the most recent offspring.

And even if they don't or name them something that I don't particularly fancy, I don't care in the slightest. It's their dragon lol.

Looking through some offspring of a dragon pair, I stumbled upon this! It made me extremely happy and I love the name.

The canopies all have 'luft' in their names which is German for 'air'. 'Luftkind' in german translates to "Airchild". x3

Really I'm using this as an excuse to show off the awesome dragon that Varekis gifted to me, but I thought I'd show my appreciation with this, the ultimate named-after-parents dragon. If it's female I might consider breeding it with a dragon called 'Never Mind Who The Hell Is That' and changing its name to 'Guy The Second X-Man'. Or switching those names around if it's male. omg, im so glad my sister's lineage seems to be catching on! And yes, Amberfly, the Dumb Ways to Die was also hers. Glad to see them getting named appropiately.

 

Generally, I try to name random AP catches at least somewhat off their parents names, unless another name really speaks to me. (trying to think of some right now)
