Naming, after parents.

I was looking around and I saw this, now I kinda wished I had bred a day glory instead of a night glory. I guess the person who got it thought that "majestic morning" was the name scheme (it is just majestic ___), but it was still really sweet! Thank you, whoever you are!

I found this tinsel fail from Cha0s a couple days ago, and I felt this name fits. The reason is, there is a sort of thing called "Discordianism". One of the many odd things about it is that their answer to any, if not all, rhetorical questions is "five tons of flax", hence the name.

My canopy pair has....4 children named after them. The best part was that someone though I named my draogn after the leafeon pokemon and named their Espeon Snap. I was delighted (and shocked when I realized what I had done ).

 

I find it nice to see people continuing my naming pattern.

Recently bred these two, who are named after Xigbar and Demyx from Kingdom Hearts, hoping someone would name their offspring after other members of Organization XIII, and they did. They now have a daughter called Xion. It really made me smile.

 

Off to drop another egg from the same pair in the hopes it'll happen again!

I do that a lot, name after parents & I've had a few people name the babies after the parents on my scroll.

 

One of my favorite that I named after the parents was this one I found in the AP: uvP6M[/url] I had no idea what to name it, so it got my naming scheme along with the parent's names.

 

Then there's variation on the parents' names: view/87pXP[/url] which I'll sometimes do.

 

Another example: /view/0LJ4c[/url]

 

 

This one carried on my naming scheme in an unique way: [view/T9o6i[/url]

 

So did this one: view/tC2E[/url]

I always try naming after the parents, unfortunatelly lots of people don't name their dragons at all and there are almost totally nameless lineages out there.

It happened to me that somebody picked my abandoned egg and later on named the dragon after the parents, it's really nice in my opinion

I try to make it easier by giving my dragons surnames I used to have the "adjective + noun" kind of names, like Velvet Butterfly, for example. Now I think "name + surname" works better for me, it makes tracking the lineage easier And whoever gets my eggs can use the surname, if they want.

 

It's also easier to come up with a name if I can name after the parents

Randomly went looking through my Stripes' offspring and discovered a hilarious gem.

 

I had bred my stripes Manganese and Jap together, and someone named their child Manly Japanese. I lol'd so hard. High five for creativity.

I always name my AP pickups after their parents (if they HAVE names). It also helps keep things organized because I give all my CB dragons one-word names.

I was so tickled to see that they kept to the naming scheme!!

 

I usually try to keep "family" names going, if at all possible. But if I don't see a pattern or understand the scheme, I just do my best. I find it fun trying to figure out a perfect name from the lineage....

I own the daughter. It's a beautiful lineage!

I always try to name the bred dragons after their parents or parentage.

The CBs I name after their code. But there are some exceptions where I name after a theme.
