New -- 100-Day Breeding Challenge 2023 - Ending September 7!

For the last few years we have had a 20-Week Breeding Challenge.

This year it will be a 100 day challenge instead.

Why, you ask? Simple. Because purplehaze simply forgot all about it until questioned by @trystan about it today.

That really doesn't give us time to get a 20-week challenge up and running and get it completed without getting too close to the Halloween madness.

So, I have decided to set it up as a slightly shorter challenge this year rather than skip it entirely.

 

So...enough of that! On to the details:

 

Welcome to the 100-Day Breeding Challenge -- 2023!

What is the Challenge, you ask? 

Starting Tuesday, May 30, 2023, we will be competing to see who can create the longest lineage (with a cohesive pattern) in a 100-day time period.  The challenge will end on September 7, 2023.

 

Why 100 Days? (See above for the main reason, but also for the same reasons that we did 20 weeks before.)

It seems a good length of time to build a fairly long lineage while still being able to keep people interested and engaged.

It allows us to finish before the holiday breeding madness begins.

It's a nice round number!

 

Why should you participate in the challenge? 

Good Question!

First of all, because it is FUN!

Also – PRIZES! Every member who joins this project will be offering a prize (sort of like a poker pot) at the end of this project. The plan is for everyone who finishes the challenge to win a prize. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will get to pick their prizes from the pot first. The rest of the prizes will be randomly distributed to the remaining finishers.

 

Rules (because we do need rules!):

• All lineages must be some form of stair or spiral format. Examples: Stair, Single Step Spiral, Double Step Spiral, and so on.

• One of the base starting dragons MUST have a "Stolen on" date of May 30, 2023 or later. The other dragon (its mate) may be a previously existing CB dragon. The last dragon in your line must have a “Laid on” date of September 7, 2023 or earlier in order to be counted.

• You must create a public group for all dragons produced/used in the project.

• All dragons in the final lineage must be on your scroll and in your group at the end of the Challenge.

• Inbreeding will be allowed.

• At the end of the challenge each player will be asked to contribute one prize. It can be an offspring of your challenge lineage, or anything else you choose.

I entered a bit late because I was trying to figure out what to breed ... then I decided on something easy, based on last year's choice being somewhat of a fiasco. 🙃

Rules clarification question? Does the dragon need to be CB, or is a Market one okay? I'm 99% sure I could get the breed I want without too much trouble, but TTRPG has only taught me that if I can fail the roll then I will ^^;  Buying one would be a handy backup to have, it'd still be a fresh egg on the 15th (I assume?), unless hunting for it is meant to be part of the challenge (which would also be fun)
