Why Pillows for Easter?

It's a possibility. I was hesitant to declare it an annual thing because of how unpopular mass-breeding events were in terms of AP blocking. But we managed this year without major incident, so maybe we can do this again some time.

 

 

 

@Aleoleo - I'd be in for an Earth Day event. That's next month, isn't it?

I didn't participate as much as I'd have liked; I only have one breeding-pair of Brutes (this is the egg I dropped). I'd definitely be up for another event, though. Pebble dragons for Earth Day, if you end up organizing it? Vines?

Yes, but this was beautifully organized for the benefit of those who love that sprite.

 

Not only were the people involved breeding specifically nice lineages for others over a period of a single day, but the people who wanted those lineages knew when to start looking for them.

 

I know I always appreciate people breeding lovely lineages of the sprites I like into the AP, and I think most of us do, although we are also aware that not everyone loves the same sprites and are looking for different things, so variety is always good.

 

 

There's a huge difference between this and a whole swack of people randomly breeding either their whole scroll of messy sprites with the nearest partner or hundreds or even thousands of the same sprites regardless of whether the dragons are likely to be of any use to anyone else, either to deliberately clog the AP or just because they feel like it and simply may not understand that they're creating a problem for the rest of the members and spoiling their game-play.

 

And, of course, they are their dragons to do with as they please, but it doesn't really take that many large scrolls to block the AP perhaps for days with unwanted eggs, fouling up virtually everyone else, and since people are often looking for specific sprites or nice lineages in a limited range of sprites, there are times when the AP simply isn't worth bothering with for those who don't Freeze.

 

So it sucks for many players when the AP is shut down for whole days or longer by those, and if the people clogging the AP with typically unwanted eggs simply don't know that they aren't actually kindly gifting a grateful membership eggs but making a mess, *they aren't going to know unless it's mentioned* - but events organized like this are a benefit for a large group of people and are not simply creating a big problem that nobody actually wants to deal with unless in an AP-cleaning competition.

Hmm, I honestly think that Pygmy breeds would be better. I can think that the Pygmies decorate old eggshells and leave them for young humans to find or something. It'd be really, very cute.

I've enjoyed this event immensely, it was nice to be able to see so many pretty lineages with Brutes and I picked up some awesome dragons, enough PB's to build up my own 5th gen and even managed to snag a 2nd gen from a Frill, which is awesome, since I love those lines (thanks Socky for the pretty egg!). I hope this becomes an annual event, this way I'd be prepared to drop some lineages of my own (I was caught woefully unprepared and only bred a few of the lines I had 2 days after the event, lol :3).

 

P.S. I'm on board for any similar event, Easter too - I like Stripes or maybe Pyralspites for the occasion, because Stripes give so many differently colored eggs and Pyralspites come in 3 color variations so the AP would be filled with a rainbow of eggs. I think that would be in spirit of the holiday.

I would be so down for this! :3 Maybe Spring Seasonals or Stripes, too, but lots of people do lineages with those and wouldn't mass breeding make them harder to get? But Pillows are common enough I think that an event like this wouldn't cause a huge drought.
