Checkered Lineages

There isn't one perfect pair of dragons, so many work together well. That's the beauty of it! And there are different levels of challenging. I like working with guardians but I collect pretty dragons that other people breed and share.

My hardest one? Zombie X Guardian. I'm thinking about attempting to bring it out another gen but that's a level of crazy that I need to start breeding for soon.

I like seeing and making unique checkers, especially if the dragons are relatively common. I have a list of pairings that already exist (so I don't copy anyone), so I've been diligently putting the mentioned checkers in this thread onto the doc for the past hour.

 

Red-finned tidal/royal crimson

Hellfire wyvern/royal blue

Speckle-throated/sunstone

Water walker/spitfire

Tri-horn wyvern/Bright-breasted wyvern

Sunsong amphiptere/speckle-throated

Nocturne/electric

 

Sometimes I drop a pair of influenced, 2nd-gen. hatchlings in the departure board and ask whoever takes them to breed them to make a checker. I think two people have followed through so far, and this pair refused. I admire the user's steadfastness.

New Pink x Old Pink (dead line now, of course... )

Black Tea x Cavern Lurker (working on breeding a proper mate for him now)

Ice x Winter (I always see this pairing done with the reverse genders, but I think the way the female is positioned really shows off what perfect color reversals of each other they are!)

Silver x Tan Ridgewing (another often gender swapped combo where I prefer this way more)

Silver x Rosebud (have yet to make an egg... T___T)

Black Tea x Royal Crimson

Black x Marrow

Gold x Harvest

Gold x Ice

Gold x Sunstone (first time I saw this pairing I fell in love; the colors make me think of tea for some reason)

Tan Ridgewing x Specklethroat (I first found this pairing when I found a 2g and 3g in the AP in short succession; I then worked on continuing the line, which took a while as speckles don't like breeding ridgewings at ALL x___x)

Autumn x Gold

Pumpkin x Dark Myst

Black Capped x Fleshcrowne (no joke, I found the male of this pair in the AP MONTHS after getting the female, and it wasn't even bred by the same person! Crazy good luck, and the colors match sooo well)

Sunsong x Thunder (my personal lineage project--I own every ancestor and they're all described, too! )

Yay, checkers. I most love shadow walkers x tsunamis, shadow walkers with golds and shadow walkers with silvers. Or shadow walkers with anything, really. Also love coppers with everything.

That's an interesting combination! And I think you have advanced quite far; I wouldn't have thought you could get Reds from Undines at all.
