DC 15th Birthday Mechanism (& Breeding) Thread - Floret Focus

I'll be breeding my Florets tomorrow - but on the Pennybright from Secondary Lightning element side of breeding:

 

Twice now, when I've gotten a Copper egg- it's been the same as the parent [one Verdigris, one rainbow]

 

While it's a very small sample...I'm willing to say that secondary lightnings don't work.

Hello!

Is there any trick or safer time to use the earthquake bsa to make green Cantormaris? Ive already lost 4 T-T Is it better if the eggs has views or is close to hatching time? 

 

 

Also need to vent a little. Why would anyone kill a 2nd gen Pink Sapphire?  T__T  I abandoned one for someone to grab it and its dead  either bitten or directly killed T-T ----rant over

After my huge attempt of 17 tries last time (And not a Magenta in sight), I've collected a lot more so when I've finished with this release, I'll go back and probably double it with still no Magenta.  I'll almost be too scared to try!

I've bred ALL my florets more than once. No magenta.

 

BUT - I note that every time I repeated a pair, they delivered the same colour as they had before. Has anyone else noted this ?

Most of my pairings have done the same, but I don't think i've bred mine enough to really agree. My most recent breeding, which had bred a Golden Alstro before, gave a Purple Alstro today: https://dragcave.net/progeny/GjzvJ

Best Earthquake odds are for an egg that is very close to three days old, with a large hole, but it's still not safe--two of the eggs I did that with when they first released met those conditions and still died from the quake.

To be fair, it's possible that it just got killed because of the new release. I've learned to be more wary during releases because the hatcheries get more activity than normal, so my usual schedule for adding hatcheries can cause sickness and (if I'm not paying attention) death.

 

Also, some people use "kill" to try to hatch their eggs even earlier than just incubating. I've never thought it was worth the risk of death or running away.

I've had some pairs repeat, while others have thrown multiple colors [ex. A gold Iris x Pink Alstro has produced both Gold Alstro and Purple Alstro eggs]

It only had one view and was 2 days old. I was just sad cause I havent been able to catch a good one myself so I needed to let it out

I've had quite an epic morning!   I managed two 2G Magentas!!!

 

Didn't use fertility at all, and got four no interest and three refusals.

 

Eggs sent to the AP: 5 2G Peach, 6 messier ones.  2 lilac 2G, 1 messier.  5 Brown 2G, 4 messier.  2 2G Gold, 1 messier.

 

Kept 5 light blue eggs.

 

Phew!  Thank goodness for that!
