At least with second gens I've only gotten lilac Alstroes out of this pair. Purebreeding of any kind of Floret may only produce the parent breeds.

Looks like nobody answered these. To get an alt color (lavender or bronze alstro, magenta iris) into a lineage, you must breed an iris to an alstro. Once you have an alt color, breeding follows the standard rule that the offspring will match one of the parents, with color being random. The only other way to get an alt color (3g and up) is if one of the parents is an alt color. Thus, a gold iris x gold iris will only give you a purple or gold iris, but a magenta iris x gold (or purple) iris will give you an iris of any of the three colors. Likewise, a peach alstro x lavender (or bronze) alstro will give you an alstro of any color. Peach iris (aka magenta) x peach iris can give any color iris, including magenta.

The florets have always had a random color possibility. Even when it was just gold and purple, sometimes you could breed two golds together and get a purple, and vice versa. This continues with the addition of the new colors.

Thank you for letting me know.

Congratulations!!! 😀

I also finally got my very first Magenta today, after two months of trying every week. It was the same combination for me, Male Peach + Female Gold Iris. 😁😁😁

Congratulations

It took a long time, but I and @pinkgothic have finally made a Gemshard Cycler! It was mostly just making minor Modifications to Odeen's art, but it took so much longer because I had to fix all the colors after MS Paint ruined them.

So here it is!

Eventually, I will make a smaller one, but these are nice! Too bad I can't put it my avatar, as avatar upload no longer takes links.

Awesome!!! I can't wait for the smaller one to add to my sig line.

Edited to add:

A coding challenge: is it possible to make a SINGLE graphic that combines all four (once you get the gemshard done) cyclers into a single image? With a limit of 10 images in a sig line, anything we can combine is a boon.

Hmmm... That might be difficult. All the cyclers work on different timelines. The ones that would probably work best together would be the Lunar Heralds and Luminae Family since those both work on the Valkemare Lunar Cycle...

Though, Lunar Heralds are affected by both moons and change every 4-8 days depending on the moon phases, while the Luminae Family change daily depending on the current Cirion lunar phase.

Another alternative is linking both Gemshards and Luminae family together because they both change daily, but Gemshards are tied to the Weekday, rather than an actual "natural" event, so they are always on a set weekday, while Luminae family eggs are inconsistent as the Lunar Cycle isn't tied to a week day or hourly event.

Not entirely, sure about the Fire Gems... They change on the HOUR as opposed to the day. They probably work best with the Gemshards though (including colorwise lol), because they both are static changes. So, you could make a set of FireGem Cyclers for each Gemshard. (Ex. Ruby Tuesdays are ALWAYS Ruby Tuesdays for Gemshards. Red Fire Gems ALWAYS show up on 1:00 a/p, 4:00 a/p, 7:00 a/p, and 11:00 a/p.)

So right now, I think it's more likely to go from 4 cyclers to 2 cyclers, rather than 4 to 1.

@pinkgothic: What do you think?

I could make one that contains all, honestly, but it might be a bit of a pain to code right, since I never had the good sense to consolidate the cycler codes and they're presently all standalone scripts. The easiest route I see is for the code to just scrape the other cyclers every hour and combine them into one image, which is a bit conceptually messy, but should totally work.

Any combination of cyclers is going to have the same general architectural issue, though of course if we don't have the fire gems in there, it could at least be cached for a day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Not sure that makes a huge difference, mind, I'm not presently running out of bandwidth in any way.

I'm just thinking that the amount of work all those images because combining images means making a group image for every hour with adjustment for every day Luminae family, Lunar Heralds, and Gemshards. That's a lot..

And, I just have no idea how quickly the Lunar Cycle matches up with the start of the week (Sunday or Monday, what ever is your preference.) That will determine how many images we need.

I feel like the 2 cyclers (one on the lunar cycle and the other on the hourly schedule) would be easier.

Edit: Now about the thread, I'm so sorry I've been gone. I'll try to make some time to sit down and update the spreadsheet.

Oh! I honestly wasn't expecting anyone to try making images specifically for this use-case, just stick the existing ones together so the forum thinks it's one image (maybe with some spacing). If you want custom images for the whole set, that's indeed a lot of work - both for you and for me on the coding side.

Do you mean literally combine the existing images into one gif? Or can you program something to mimic that?

Alternatively, we could stick the cycler into an image cycler, like TJ's version, and go from there? Or would that not work?

I have a case of breeding bright copper from bright father x nonCB noncopper mother - lineage. Looks like bright hybrid follows copper rules too) (Not that I expected it not to follow, but I think it's good to ensure). It got auto abandoned however.

Is breeding a Pink Iris from another Pink Iris much easier than breeding a Pink Iris from a Gold/Purple Iris x Alstro pairing?

I got a Pink Iris as a gift, traded for another one and both of them gave me Pink Iris eggs on their very first breeding (incidently both were paired with Purple Alstros).  However, repeted breedings of Gold/Purple Iris x Alstro never gave me any Pink Iris.

Nobody answered yet?

Yes, it is easier to breed a pink iris from an existing pink iris. They are pretty good at breeding true—especially if you have two of them to breed together. Or breed one with a non-floret for a good chance at a pink iris.

Found a copper that contradicts that rule) Both parents are bred, but colouring was taken from the father.

Getting advice form the Help section, I have successfully raised a green Sapphire dragon to adulthood. It relies heavily on ER the egg and hatchling and immediately hiding the egg when it hatches.

I fogged the egg and waited until the egg was below 4 days. Then, I unhide it and placed it into about 6 different hatcheries.

I checked in every 5-10 minutes or so on the egg until it hatched, and then I immediately fogged the new hatchlings.

Once the hatchling was under 4 days again, I unhide it, and then put it back into the 6 hatcheries, and it grew up at 3,268 OV, 370 UV, and 3 clicks. Not sure I will keep this adult though...

So this method worked, but you have to keep a good eye on it.

In other news, I'm so sorry I haven't been active here. I really need to sit down and go through the thread, but I've been busy with real life.
