Round 174 and the game's still going strong, I've only lost one dragon. I sure as heck did not expect to see this when I got up from bed to check on my dragons.

Yesss!  My best result before this was 120 rounds; currently, I'm at Round 192 and still going strong! 

 

Strategy thoughts:

 

* Flank protection is working, but is it due to the Magmas covering the approach, the Bolts stunning zombies in the outer column, the GoN randomly appearing, or the Thunder's random lightning strikes?  To modify the setup, what can I afford to switch out, and what ought I to keep?

 

* Am I only OK so far because of random GoN appearances?  Seeing as zombie numbers always inevitably increase, should I try to have a Soulpeace or two in reserve, next time?

 

* Do both Thunders ever strike? If only one can ever be active anyway, I can swap one out for a different piece. 

 

* Ice is highly useful.  Magma is highly useful.  Same for White, Purple, Green.  What piece is serving me the least?  Bolt?

Tried the Green-White-Purple pattern someone posted earlier in this thread. Round 43 and no losses, I'm very pleased! Bolt dragons give a litte extra support at the flanks. Wonder when the Soulpeace will get its chance.

Started with full row of reds, then full row of greens, then Green-Green-White-Purple-White-Green-Green, and the two Soulpeaces at the back.

Of course I lost my flanks overnight, and my ice. That ice was a beast up until I went to bed. Barely anything was getting close with all the cooldown reduction it was getting from the adjacent purples. *_* Longest I've lasted, my record was like 103.

When I get to max level I'm planning to add even more vamps, swapping out the shallow waters.

My previous record was with a similar strat, and I think I got to the high 80s.

Just last as long as you can. The zombie difficulty increases periodically too. 

 

Round 199 is my new record!

I had two bolt dragons right at my tower, two soulpeace one to each side.

Then whites wrapped around that and green earth dragons all around them.

 

My whole left side is still intact but only the soulpeace remains on the right.

They finally fell at 141. One survived, though!

 

Leveled up enough for the trios, let's see how this goes.

My current set-up. Haven't lost a dragon yet, though that's bound to change soon, lol. I think my previous record was around 114? We'll see if this fares any better.

Round 174 now.  Let's see how far this drags out ('dragons out' heh).

"Four more zombies rise from the earth."   That is suddenly a lot of undead on the board.
"The Guardian of Nature leaves to maintain the balance."   suuuuuuure that's why.  

 

Edit 2:  The Soulpeace finally acted and cleared the board.  Lost a now-undefended White; that side is going to slowly collapse now.

Update:  I'm surprised that my base is still up at round 246. Though somebody's clawing at it, so the end is finally here.  I'm also surprised that the Soulpeace didn't turn into lunch while I was napping.  One flank remains intact but now useless aside from the Thunder's smiting.
