Hmm, I guess we could do that. It'll be less damaging to us than just fighting it off, in any case. Just one question: how will we keep the chimera in, and get Gysentia and Tike out? Other than that, I think that would work perfectly! Nice thinking! Malkan turned, and began to analyze the beast. It seemed unnatural, with a furred head that roared at its foes, a scaly body like that of a dragon, and the tail ... the tail seemed to have a mind, and mouth, of its own. It hissed and bit at the dragons attacking it. Well, I hope there aren't many of these things, Malkan shuddered. It doesn't look like anything we've seen before, it's almost an amalgamation of different beasts.

~~~~~
Eriadna launced into the ruins at top speed, and barely managed to take stock of her surroundings before crashing headlong into the beast. Latching on, she tore at the furry hide of the beast's head. Then, an idea dawned on her. Pushing off, since it was shaking its head to try and knock off Seraza, Eriadna waited till it stopped. As soon as she had a chance, Eriadna headbutted and gouged one of the monstrosity's eyes. Don't like that much do you? Eriadna thought, somewhat triumphantly, in her head. However, the beast focused in on her with its other eye, and swatted at her with a large paw. Ouch! Eriadna cried, before she crashed to the ground, bleeding somewhat badly, and limped behind cover, where she saw Malkan and Nylaeni. Hey! Do you have any idea on how to defeat this thing, cause it looked angry already, and I think I made it angrier. Also, someone should try and find that hatchling that healed Ruscella yesterday. If she can heal wounds that bad, she should be able to help me easily.
Airean stared at the beast as it swatted Eriadna. He didn't understand what the beast was. It looked freakish and hideous. I have no real idea what's happening, but I'm going to have to do something about it..., he thought to himself. He hid behind a piece of rubble, and waited until the beast turned away from him. Perfect..., he thought, and took off at lightning speed. As he reached the monster, he extended his legs out towards it, and just like how he caught fish, sliced his claws into the beast's neck. It let out a bloodcurdling roar, and Airean quickly let go to avoid a giant flaw smashing him.
Instinctively, he made an aerial turn to leave the monster's sight, and went back around and made another slash, this time into its rear legs. The monster made another roar, and Airean turned to see its tail smack into him forcefully. He smashed onto the ground, and skidded across the ruins until he hit a large metal fragment, bloodying his right wing even more, and knocking him unconscious.
Meanwhile Lance continued to rest within the cave in a sound sleep. He was becoming restless at the noise that kept erupting from nearby. He rolled and twisted, but he couldn't find deep sleep anymore. Finally he gave up and looked around, trying to shake the sleep out of his eyes. No ones here... he thought to himself. Where is everyone? He stood up and wandered around the cave as he searched for food. Finding some of those oranges from yesterday, he ate them until he had his fill which was when he heard another eruption of noise from nearby. He looked up in the direction of the noise as he walked towards the mouth of the cave, "What was that?" He then thought he heard some screams and burst into a sudden sprint towards the sound. Is that where everyone is? What's going on?!
Nylaeni outlined her plan to Eridana, then answered Malkan's question."There are holes everywhere, and the pygmies are small. One of us, or them, will scratch along a back wall from the outisde, so it thinks its following footsteps. And maybe we can block the entrance somehow? There're a lot of us..." she watched Airean get swatted to the ground and winced, heart twisting when he didn't get up. Please don't be dead, please, please, don't be dead, she thought desperately.
~
The monster screamed in fury when Eridana tore out its eye, but Seraza clung on, watching where Eridana went carefully until it began to claw at its own face in an attempt to dislodge her. She dropped to the ground when its blind side was towards the other hatchlings and scampered over to them. "What's the plan?" she asked brightly, eyes shining with the exhilaration of battle. The golden one let out a sigh and seemed rather annoyed as she explained her idea, but Seraza didn't mind.
~
Halith carried the moss over to the gave and laid it gently next to the spring. She took a deep breath, gathered up her courage, and set off in the direction of the battle.
(( OOC: So it's going to be a chimera right? Everyone agrees? ))
Celestis ~ Night Glory Drake
Celestis dodged a chimera's tail as it swung towards her, and nearly lost her balance as the dragonets from the cave rushed in to attack. She gaped at the hatchlings in the surprise. She had only known these hatchlings for a day, and they were already risking their lives to save her. Celestis shook her head wildly, recovering from her moment of shock. "Err, right Nyaleni, that plan should work." She crouched, ready to spring into the air when she heard a loud smack, and then a crash. With a gasp, she saw that Airean had been knocked unconscious, and was lying limply on the dusty ground. With a growl, Celestis muttered, "Two hatchlings down. It won't be long before the rest of us get tired out." She gestured at Mifoki and Airean. "Alright, change of plans! I'm going to fly Airean and Mifoki back to the cave, so they don't get even more injured." Then Celestis realized how foolish her thought was. How would she, alone, carry both of the dragonets all the way to the cavern, while the dragons here needed all the help they could get? Celestis made a sound of despair deep in her throat. "This is hopeless!"
Lance rushed towards the sounds of fighting before he found a small group of hatchlings discussing. "What're you guys doing here? And what's that?!" He whispered harshly as he stared down at the monster below. "Is anyone hurt?"
Mifoki groaned and struggled to stand up. Her head felt like it was about to explode. Her vision was blurry, but her hearing clear. She worked her way through the obstacles until she finally bumped into Celestis. Her vision and fatigue cleared and she found the blade again. She grabbed it and plunged it right into the monstrosity's eye. He howled in pain and rage until finally, he dropped motionless onto the floor. She screeched and hopped in triumph. "They can be killed! Aim for their eyes!"
Ruscella made her way through the crystally river. Then it got murkier and stung her eyes. She surfaced and saw some ruins. She licked her face out of habit and started spitting. The water here tasted horrible! She saw the rest of her clan and ran awkwardly towards them. "What happened?!" she asked frantically.
Tike decided he might not want the lizard after all. It was Gysentia's catch, after all, and she might be hungry as well. "Actually, you can have it all," said Tike. He sped up, and soon increased his speed into a run. "Let's go! Bet you can't catch me!" He didn't have to go that far before he reached the ruins. At first, he gazed in wonder at the stone, and crumbled structures. Then he shrank back when he saw the creature. He squeaked in terror. What was that thing? Three ferocious heads, wings, and a muscular body. It towered above some of the hatchlings, and it's height made Tike feel like he was nothing. The other hatchlings were attacking it. A few were unconscious, and they were not winning the battle.
"What is that?" he whispered to no one in particular. "What is going on?"
Alla woke up again from strange sounds and shrieks coming from somewhere around or in the forest. The sounds were unlike anything she's heard so far, and seemed very dangerous. Many hatchlings were heading that way. She hoped that it wasn't a dangerous beast. She hoped that the others were safe. Alla sighed, knowing that there was nothing she could do in her state. It would only slow the others down. She glared at her leg, wishing that she had some type of healing magic like Halith. Halith was gone. So was most the other hatchlings. The least she could go was to prepare food for them once they came back. Alla sliced up the bird into chewable chunks. She gathered some more of the orange fruit. Her leg slowed her down a great amount.
Gysentia raced after Tike, abandoning the lizard after only taking one bite. As she was running her legs suddenly found their natural rhythm, and she was able to run quite fast as she sped past Tike. As she raced through the ruins she skidded to a stop from where she could see what was going on as she waited for Tike. She had no clue how to answer his questions as her blue eyes scanned the scene quickly, hatchlings were scattered all about. One of the fearsome heads was drooping, but the other two were quite active. The thing stalked forward towards some of the hatchlings, and Gysentia whimpered to herself. She wasn't even as big as it's paw.
Gathering her wits about her Gysentia raced foward, dashing between it's feet. She leapt onto it's back leg, clawing her way up. She bit it's inner thigh, watching it's tail carefully. When she spotted it coming her way she leapt off and the tail slammed into the small wound she had made, widening it. She cowered down beneath it, wary of the large feet that could end her life in a moment. She raced past it's foot, terror making her fast. She darted out from under it and tore away from the other hatchlings, heading towards the safety of a near-by building.
Ferovan soon reached the orange tree, but Estra was no where in sight. He kept going until he found a tree that had some red fruit, but he couldn't find any sign of his friend. In the back of his mind he felt a faint call for help. I can even imagine her asking for help He thought, not realizing he was actually hearing her. He felt his worry growing, so he placed his fish down by the red tree. He took in a breath, hoping to catch her scent. There was too many different smells for him to notice anything specific. As he walked past a tree he bit into it's bark, leaving a mark. He kept doing that as he made his way further away from the cave. I hope that one of the creatures from my dream isn't around He thought, suppressing a shudder.
Esta continued walking, looking about her for nothing in particular, until her feet started to grow tired. Eventually she had to sit again and when she did, she found herself resting against a tree. She sighed in despair as she looked up, "I don't think I'll ever find my way back..." she told herself. As she looked up, she noticed something weird about the tree: it had markings on it. She stood up and examined the markings until she saw that another tree had similar markings. She gathered all her food and started following the trail of marked trees, hoping it led to somewhere.
Still unconscious, Airean's good wing let go of the thing it was protecting for almost an entire day. The big blue berry, the very one Ruscella had previously taken a bite out of and was seemingly sliced by, rolled off his wing, and onto the dirt ground. The berry tumbled until it was in plain view. The chimera eyed it mysteriously.
Celestis ~ Night Glory Drake
Celestis glanced up at Mifoki's new tactic and picked up a shard of glass that was lying on the ground. She grit her teeth as it cut into her soft baby dragon skin, planting drops of blood into the ground. Celestis raised her makeshift razor and leaped onto a chimera's head, jabbing the piece of glass randomly into it's furry face as it howled in anguish. With a final slice, she was able to aim the blade into the monster's large, yellow eye. Celestis leaped off the chimera as it began to tumble to the ground. "Yes! That's how to do it!" As she reached for a sharp-looking rock, Celestis glanced at Airean, nervous that he might've been trampled by the hideous beasts. With a gasp, she dropped her rock and stared at the bitten berry in horror. Then, she noticed the chimera gazing down at the deadly berry and let her breath whistle slowly out of her mouth. Eat it, she coaxed silently. Come on, just a little bite. Celestis crouched down and edged a little closer.
As Ferovan walked along, deeper into the forest, the undergrowth thickened making it harder to see through the forest. Large, dark, leaves shaded the path. He looked around anxiously, marking every tree that he came to now because the going was so much slower. He pushed himself through the bushes, forgetting his instinct to be quiet as he searched for his friend.
~~~

Lurking high in the trees, a large cat waited patiently for it's next meal. It's yellow eyes glowed ominously in the dark of the forest. It heard the rustling undergrowth, and followed the noise curiously as it walked along the branches of the trees. It wasn't long before it spotted a light green dragon with a tuft of orange on it's chest. It curled it's tail, back and forth, trying to decide if it was suitable prey or not.

(O.O not good...)

Estra continued walking through the forest with her find, unaware of what was unraveling above her. She heard a few sounds and looked around her occasionally, but never saw anything. "Fer?" she called out, a little scared. "Fer, is that you?"

-=-=-=

Lance looked over the rocky shelter and saw several other hatchlings full on attacking the monster. He wasn't sure if he should join in and help them, or wait to see if the group of hatchlings he was with would execute their plan. Their plan sounded like a good idea, but everyone else was in danger now!

Tike creeped out of the shelter of trees, mustering his courage, and joining the fight. Could they win? There were already many hatchlings injured. The chances, he admitted, were rather low, against such an enormous monster. Tike noticed that there was a berry at the foot of the monster. Was it that poisonous or dangerous berry the hatchlings had talked about? He wasn't sure. Celestis seemed to be staring at it intently. The monster was looking at it curiously as well. He shuffled a little closer, waiting to see if the monster would eat it.

Ooc; xd.png. It'll learn it's lesson. Sorry to have Estra be the bait, but I wanted Fer to realize what he could do.

Bic;

Ferovan sighed. Surely she wouldn't have gone this far away from the cave. He said, turning around. He could just barely see the marks that he had been leaving on the trees, but it proved a fairly effective method. It wasn't long after he had turned around before he heard Estra's voice. "Fer, is that you? "Estra!" He called excitedly, crashing through the bushes.

~~~
Still uncertain, but curious and hungry, the large cat settled onto a branch just above the small green creature. It heard more rustling, and narrowed it's eyes. Suddenly another creature, marked drastically differently but roughly the same size, appeared beside the green one. Neither of them looked fearsome, but not all things that looked like prey were prey. The best way to find out was to test it. Leaping out of the tree with a menacing growl, the tiger slammed it's paw down on the small green hatchling, knocking it off it's feet and pinning it to the ground. It opened it's mouth to make the kill.
~~~

Seeing Estra brought a huge wave of relief to Ferovan. "There you are!" He exclaimed, covering the last bit of distance between them. "Now we can-" He began, when he saw the monster from his dreams jumping from the tree to attack Estra. He recoiled in fear, but when it opened it's hideous mouth above her he felt a surge of anger, which rushed out in the form of a hot flame, burning the creatures face. The flame within him grew stronger, and he kept it going until the creature ran away. "Estra! Are you okay?"

~~~
Once Gysentia made it into the house, she trembled in fear. She curled up, desperately glad that the creature hadn't followed her. Her heart was still racing, but she smiled to herself. At least I went in and gave it a go She thought, proud of herself. Her muscles were screaming at her however, even from where she lay. After a moment had passed, and her fear was fading, she sighed to herself. She wanted to know what was going on, even if the fight had left her. She began slinking across the ground, watching the creature warily as she made her way over to one of the hatchlings that was bleeding on the ground. It was blue and another white color, she thought she had learned it's name some time ago, it was Aireo, or something close to that. She walked over to it's injured side, which it was laying on, and nudged it gently. She could see part of the wound, but it was dirty so she began to gently lick the dirt away, hopefully he would wake up soon so she could get the rest.
As Gysentia began licking his wound, Airean slipped back into conscious state. He was a bit confused to see what was going on, almost as if he had forgotten everything. "Who are you?", he asked the hatchling beside him, "Where am I? What's going on?" He then came to the realization of the battle that was taking place. "Oh, that's right! There is a monster over there. We were fighting it, I think." He then looked back at Gysentia. "If you don't mind me asking, what were you doing just now?"
Estra continued to wander until she heard a response to one of her calls. When she heard her name, she knew she recognized that voice. "Fer!" she called excitedly, immediately dropping all of her food to look around wildly. When the red/brown hatchling came bursting through the bushes, she ran towards him. "Hey!!" she called out, only to find herself knocked to the ground by a massive beast. In a series of struggled bleats and fearful screeches, she tried desperately to claw or do anything to her attacker. Unluckily for her, her poisonous talons had not yet developed so she was left virtually powerless against this attack. When she was sure the monster was going to end it, she saw Ferovan release fire from his mouth which scorched the cat and made it flee. Finally free once again, she rolled over onto her stomach and gasped for air. "Y-Yeah...I think so," she muttered to Ferovan. "What was that?" She asked, referring to his moment of random power.
-=-=
Lance continued to watch the fight unravel before him and grew more impatient by the second. What to do? What to do... He noticed the creature eyeing the same berry from earlier and realized the plan that was unraveling. He climbed over the rocks and onto the ground so he was at the same level as the monster. If this plan flaked, he was ready to try and attack.
Ferovan looked at Estra. "That was the monster from my dream." He replied, not understanding her question. "Let's get out of here. I don't like this place anymore." He said, the warmth within him was at an all-time low now. The red that had been spreading along his wings was back to being mostly brown again. He felt slightly embarrassed about being so protective of Estra. He picked up one of the red things that she had dropped in his mouth, pinning another one against his chest as he began walking back towards the cave, watching the ground quietly.
~~~

Gysentia raised her head when Airean woke up. "I'm Gysentia. And I was cleaning your wound. And be quiet! You don't want to bring it over here or we'll both die!" She hissed to him. He was still lying on his bad side, so she couldn't get to most of the wound. "Would you roll over?" She asked quietly.

"Wait, what?!" She squealed as that fact finally dawned on her. She looked around wildly to see if the creature was still nearby. "I had no idea! I was talking about what you did back there. That pcheeww thing," she told him, not sure how to explain it. "Fire came out of your mouth!" She leapt after him, grabbing the remaining three foods. "I don't understand what just happened, care to enlighten me?" At this point she was slightly concerned. What he had done appeared to be involuntary and the way he was acting now...was he hurt? What was with the attempted silent treatment. "Fer..." she cooed.

Mifoki ran to the snarling chimera that made fun of her and boldly stood in front of him for one silent minute. Then she spat in his face and pawed dust into his eyes. She knew just how to humiliate someone. He howled in pain, rubbing his hideous eyes. "See how you like being picked on!" She yelled angrily remembering his bullying. She plunged her tiny claws into his neck and bit as hard as she could into his neck so he would take his hands away from his eyes. Then she picked up a rather large piece of glass and shoved it into his eyes. He squirmed around and dropped dead. "Two more to go guys! We can take them!" A chimera who had been eyeing her the whole time slipped away into the darkness. Then the last chimera sniffed the blue berry and ate it whole. He fainted and 5 minutes later, his head rolled to the center. Mifoki retched at the amount of blood there was, but was triumphant. She heaved and exhaled several times before looking around for more chimeras. There was none to be found. "Let's go home, guys. I've hardly come into this world and I don't think I'm liking it much. I guess no one had it easy."

Lance watched as the brown hatchling charged the first chimera and managed to attack its eyes. When the second one had swallowed the berry whole, he knew it was all over for it. He hadn't noticed the third chimera, but, instead, ran off to find all the wounded hatchlings. He slipped through a small hole and into one of the buildings to find two hatchlings badly wounded as they tried to care for one another. He ran up to them, "Can you walk?" He asked, only wanting to help. "How badly are you both hurt?"

Celestis ~ Night Glory Drake

Celestis sighed with relief when the last chimera ate the berry, and dropped dead a few minutes later. She surveyed her surroundings and was surprised and overjoyed that no hatchlings had been killed. Some were injured and bleeding though. Like me, Celestis thought, looking at her cut paw. She could also feel sticky dark blood slowly oozing out of a deep gash next to her shoulder blade. She nodded to Mifoki. "Right, let's get back to the cave. Make sure everyone returns, though. I saw that last chimera sneak off. He's probably lurking around somewhere here." Celestis swung her head from side to side, carefully inspecting every nook and cranny in the dusty ruins.
