Dain sighed. He had planned to come to this school and try to make friends, yet it seems his only friends are a human who can't speak right and a giant rock man. Not only that but one of the only few that he cared about being friends with, completely turned down that idea. Dain yawned and tossed a knife he had taken from the cafeteria at the ceiling. He stood, figuring he should make his way to gym and actually try at the school. Dain made his way through the halls until he got to gym. Dain scratched his head and entered into gym to see everyone stretching. Dain stared blankly and made his way to a spot on the floor to began stretching. He waved slightly at the teacher to let her know that he was there.

As the teacher sat down to begin their stretching course, Jaden's mind reeled back to making friends. Oh how he hated talking to new people. It was extremely awkward, especially if they were a different species. Most people weren't used to that. "Well..." he hummed quietly to himself, feeling stiff suddenly. He looked to the vampire again. Definitely not his first choice because of the rumors he'd heard about what vampires were- but there wasn't much good choice around the room anyway. Dain was it? The vampire seemed tame enough. Of course, even with the high-class vampire rumors, they were still blood-suckers. Apathetic ones at that it seemed. Jaden shook his head faintly, no, it wasn't right to judge someone on their specie. He cautiously moved next to the vampire- though far enough where they could both stretch comfortably.... and where he could flee if needed. "Hey..." he greeted quietly, his ears tipping back in a sheepish look. Jaden slowly sat down, waiting for the teacher's instructions.

What was this 'stretches?' Mistry had not the faintest clue. However, she had seen such activities before and the jogging came after the weird movements that the people had done. Was that what they called 'stretches?' The Gracidona swept her gaze across the room, viewing the other students and examining the movements they went through. She could not 'stretch' as these others did and she could not hurt herself from 'not warming up' before hand. She was built similar to many types of prey animals and, in most situations, they did not have time to 'warm up' so their bodies were built specifically to start out running. So, despite looking like a sore thumb and sticking out, Mistry retook her position in lying down and keeping her head up to watch the rest of the class stretch.

"Well, breath was the exact word I wanted but, I guess air would work just the same." Soria lightly rubbed her cheek, glancing down at Duordin. "What's got you so upset? Are you hungry still?" she asked, moving to pick him up and cradle him like an infant.

The hatchling nudged her arm and squeaked, turning his gaze towards the bloodscale. "Ridgels. No ridgels." What in the world were 'ridgels?' Soria frowned in confusion, shaking her head.

Jasmine smiled, floating beside Autumn as the female walked. "The books focusing on magic can be found towards the left under the magic section and sorted out alphabetically. Herbology and Biology are located a little towards the center back under class subjects. We do have one book on Phytomorph physiology and that can be found with the biology books. As it's a bit of a harder object to obtain, it'll be higher up on the shelf. I can get it down for you since we don't have any kind of ladder except a step-stool but that's only tall enough to help someone reach the fourth or fifth shelves."

Though he felt equally as awkward doing so, Tatsuke was about to greet Jaden back with his usual shy smile and tiny wave. But the teacher interrupted with a call to action and they were sent back to their spots. His joints still ached from Devon's session earlier, so the thought of more stretching earned a disdainful sigh but all in all he went back to his spot. Well, there went his chance for communication. He awaited his teacher's orders with his eyes cast down at her feet. He looked like he was just waiting for the class to be over.

Sin was ready to stretch, however, and she was going to have a good time doing so. Few people were so happy in gym as Sin was. Though it wasn't as investing as Practical Combat, Sin still enjoyed the good feeling in her muscles after a hard workout and the rewarding rest at the end of the day when one just lay down and enjoyed rest. She mostly enjoyed it because when she was tired, she didn't have to think as much. Focusing on one's body was a welcome relief from self-criticizing and unnecessary deep analysis on the world. Her conversation with Choru was how she normally thought before there was anything else she could focus on to distract herself from abstract scintillas and metaphors of life. When she had a class that wore her out, like gym or practical combat, she tended to sleep better at night too. Probably because she didn't stay up running scenarios and how she could have better dealt with them in her head. The Azel looked the teacher in the eyes like a soldier, awaiting the next command with obedience.

Aaand Choru... well, he had no idea what he was doing and it was obvious. He plopped down in his seat like a dog told to sit, glancing at everyone else. Was he going to do the stretches like everyone else...? He wasn't bipedal like them, his anatomy was totally different. Not just totally different, oh no, he also had wings on top of his dog body. He would need stretches that suited a dragon, not a person. The Downward-Facing Dog was just him standing and looking at the ground. After he was done looking at everyone else, he focused back on the teacher, and didn't even notice the slight head-tilt he was sporting.

Watching Tatsuke's mouth as he showed her the correct pronunciation, Devon listened carefully and repeated it until she thought she got it right. Devon pretended not to notice that she realized she'd said something to upset Tatsuke as she realized why he'd felt that way. Her father had taught her how to read body language very early on, even though she had telepathy and she was very glad he had. In Tatsuke's case, it was much harder to read him than most people. His intellect also made it difficult for her to read, but there were subtle signs and that was enough for her to fill in the blanks. If he had a weak mind, the images would seem faded, or there would be blank spots, however Tatsuke's memories were strong and clear. So strong that Devon almost forgot they were not really there. She felt bad that she hadn't figured it out sooner, she'd seen the scar in his mind and knew well the pain that caused those scars. Most people who bore them, including herself, were forever changed by the event that caused it, and it wasn't something either she or Tatsuke was ready to speak of just yet. Instead she let him steer the conversation and kept things light as they walked to his class. Once they'd arrived, Devon said her traditional see you later, and sent a mental hello and see you later to her roommate. That done she looked down to Rori and said, "You've been unusually quiet today. Is there something wrong?"

Rori met Devon's eyes as he sent back to her, **No, I'm fine. I was just admiring your homes, and observing things. Plus I'm really excited about learning to hunt! I didn't think that was something your friend would enjoy talking about, so I kept my mouth shut.**

Devon smiled down to him and replied as she walked to her room for a change of clothing, "Still you should speak up and let people get to know you. Once I get changed, we'll head down to the river for your hunting lesson."

**Yay! I can't wait!** Rori said excitedly. He was so excited, in fact, that it was hard for him to sit still in Devon's arms.

"I won't be long," Devon chuckled at Rori's enthusiasm, and quickly ducked into her room for her clothing. Locking the door behind her, Devon set Rori down on the bed before opening her trunk and pulled out black lacy underthings, a soft suede top with matching leggings, and soft leather boots. Seeing the natural scented soaps infused with pink lotus flowers, and various other things that gave the soaps a light, yet refreshing perfume, Devon grabbed those as well as a towel for herself thinking it would also be a good idea to get clean as well if she could find a spot secluded enough from the school. Letting Rori hop onto her shoulder, they soon head out and made their way out of the school. Looking up at the sky, Devon noted the time as she walked down the steps. Once out in the forest, they soon found a spot that suited their needs. Setting her things down close by the bank by some bushes, Devon let her scales form a natural covering underneath her clothing before she stripped out of the clothing she wore. and dove into the water, forming her Siren tail as she hit the water. Surfacing, she swam over to Rori, who was sitting on the bank waiting for instructions. Little did they know, there was someone watching them...

Username: LotusDragon

Name: Syasurru Kai-peng Zezchth

Age: 950 (Looks 17)

Race: Fairy.

What role did they have in the war?: None. Though they can be powerful magi, fairies don't like to fight if it can be avoided. They love to make mischief, dance, play music, and anything else one might consider fun. Some fairies would heal injured people when they came across them, others would do nothing, or taunt the poor person; however others would observe and let nature take its course.

Appearance: (Pictures accepted, but detailed descriptions wanted) 6’5”, Syasurru has straight blond hair that hangs just past his shoulders; long thick blond lashes encompass sapphire blue eyes. His skin is pale, and he has slightly Chinese features from his mother who is a Chinese fairy, though most people are not likely to notice this. Syasurru is well muscled, but not overly so, has dragonfly wings that fold be, and dresses in loose elvish style clothing always in colors that compliment his eyes and complexion. ninja.gif

Personality: Syasurru is the youngest son of King Theranu and Queen Zhen Yuen, and loves to spend his days roaming around the castle, or doing whatever else his heart desires. Syasurru is more than a little spoiled and very use to getting everything he wants without having to do any work to get it. Even out in the human world. He loves to flirt with anyone he finds attractive (get my meaning *wink, wink*), he gets bored easily and can’t stand anything that looks like work or school (This does not mean he’s stupid, however.), has no idea how to cook or clean. He’s always skated through life by his looks, position and has not a care in the world.

Talents: Magic (especially healing magic), flirting, playing his ehru, singing, dancing, and he’s not too bad with his sword made of desert ironwood.

Likes: Flying, flirting, music, playing tricks, dancing... Anything fun

Dislikes: Anything that looks like work, studying, he hates to be bored, metal (metal burns fairies)

The soft buzz of his dragonfly wings filled the air as Syasurru, flew high above the clouds wondering how much longer he had before he reached this Academy his parents had forced him to attend on their behalf. He hadn't wanted to go, studying was never something he enjoyed, and used every excuse in the book to get out of it as much as possible. Glancing down, he caught a glimmer of bright color shine through the trees. His curiosity, piqued, Sya cast an invisibility spell on himself before he went down to investigate. Hiding behind some bushes by the bank of the river, Sya watched the Siren surface and thought to himself, Well, well... Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all... Interesting... She is Siren, but also bears a Naga marking. Total shame about that scar though. He was glad she seemed to be distracted by the young dragon she was teaching to hunt. He watched them for a moment as the sweet faced Siren woman made something of a game of the whole situation. Not that he cared about hunting. Quite the opposite really. He could go the rest of his life without knowing where his food came from and be more than happy. No he was using this opportunity for a prank. Spying her clothing laying on the ground in front of the bush he was hiding in, Sya felt a sly grin creep across his face. Slowly reaching out his hand, Sya kept a tight eye on the Siren woman and her dragon as he cast a spell to make the woman's clothing disappear. Watching the woman and dragon a moment longer to be sure he hadn't been seen, Sya ran his fingers through his luxurious, long blond hair before retreating into the forest before his invisibility wore off. Besides that he still had to talk to who ever was in charge of this thing. At least I'm going to get to have some fun here, he thought as he made his way up the steps of the castle and wondered what the furnishings inside the rooms would be like. As he casually walked the halls trying to find this Headmaster person, Syasurru didn't think the school was going to be anything like what he was use to. Being the youngest son of the King and Queen of all fairydom made sure he was use to a certain standards of living conditions as well as getting his way.

Dain looked over to Jaden a bit surprised. He knew the little creature from seeing it with Jeth, however for it to be speaking to him was unheard of. It took a moment for Dain to gather his thoughts to be able to answer. "He.. Hey. Teacher seemed kind of upset that I showed up late, huh?" Dain sighed. He couldn't believe that he was having trouble talking to some one. As Dain sat there, he looked around and smiled when he saw Tatsuke. It was a shame how far away he was, which prevented Dain from saying hello.

The teacher looked around at everyone and smiled, "I realize some of you dont have joints and dont need to stretch, but bear with me until it's done" she smiled. Ms. Hawkins spread her legs straight out and opened them like a "v" until she was doing the splits. "Spread your legs as far as you can and lean down in the center. Press yourself a bit, nut of course, don't hurt yourself" she chuckled. She stretched her arms in front of her and leaned down, her forehead almost touching the floor.

Nami sat in close proximity to Kira, looking between her and the teacher to make sure she was doing it right. Nami was naturally flexible and managed to do the splits. Her tails curled around the front of her shyly. She was wearing a short kimono after all. Coorta tried to follow, but outward movements weren't very natural to a horse. Kira was nearly able to do the splits, coming just short. She was more into the brute force of things rather than flexibility. Her eyes flickered annoyed-ly at Dain as he entered.

Jaden started to follow suit with the stretch. He snapped his head back over to Dain as the vampire responded. He hadn't actually expected that. His face dusted, then turning to a coy look. "I would guess so... it does start at a certain time..." he trailed off. His legs stretched into a splits position to follow the teacher. Even with relative height to others while sitting, he still felt half the size. He looked at the vampire again and then flickered his eyes up at the lights. "Do... the school...er... florescent lights hurt?" he asked curiously. He suddenly felt stupid for the question, but was curious what light hurt vampires.

Out of the three characters contained within this post, Sin did the splits with the least difficulty and as such does not require much of an explanation. She couldn't do it all the way, but she certainly did it very well for a member of a race whose body mass in females is an average of 46% muscle or above, she was decently flexible and so comfortable that any trace of her looking foolish was lost. Some people just looked right working out, oddly enough when the person in question seems a slight bit overweight.

Choru ended up in a very odd pose in which his belly touched the ground and his legs were splayed in four different directions, much like a starfish attached to the end of a mop, or a bear skin rug. Choru most certainly felt like a bear skin rug, especially when he opened his mouth for a brief moment much like the gaping jaws of ursine floor ornamentation. He also had no idea what to do with his wings, the way a lot of people don't know what to do with their hands when preforming leg exercises. So at first he splayed one and kept the other folded... splayed both... then folded them both... extended both of them just a little... God what was he even doing. If there was a school for bear skin rugs that did dance moves, Choru would graduate top of the class without being in the school. They would just find him and give him a diploma. Bear skin rugs everywhere were jealous of Choru in that moment.

However, there are no schools for bear skin rug dancing. Not yet, at least. With the technology and all, I mean, who knows? But because there is no open education field for aspiring bear skin rugs, and if there were they certainly wouldn't accept a wolf-like creature, Choru was left making a very silly movement on the floor of the gym because he had no idea what he was supposed to be doing with four legs to split.

And Tatsuke.

Poor little Tatsuke.

Was it bad enough that he was sore? Apparently not. He was also doing splits while he was sore. Well... maybe 'splits' was pushing it. It was more like a sumo-wrestler thing. He didn't have to stretch the whole way. Oh well, it was stretches. He started thinking he shouldn't be so hesitant. After all, the art of stretching came from his side of the globe. He did polities with Devon less than an hour ago and it was way more intense than this! Tatsuke really psyched himself up. What could go wrong? It was just stretching.

Perhaps he should have been paying more attention to his ankle. While he was reassuring himself nothing could go wrong, of course something went wrong. Slip! His ankle took the whole leg with it. His joint even made a cracking noise as if someone pulled their knuckles. In less than three seconds, he was a man in a full split. Or, well... for a few seconds in time he wasn't the full definition of a man. After those few seconds, nope. More stretching wasn't happening. He was on his knees, face-down on the mat. One-hit KO, super effective!

Ms. Hawkins looked around, satisfied with everyone's stretching. "And now close your legs, keep them straight out on the floor together, and reach for your toes" she instructed. Her dragon, Miku helped her demonstrate. Miku had rabbit or cat like anatomy, so she could stretch like humans. The teacher silently stood and moved over to Tatsuke while Miku continued to stretch in front of the class. She knelt next to him, "I did say don't hurt yourself" she rubbed his back gently. She hummed quietly, "I'm afraid none of my magic would help... in this situation" she glanced down, noticing which part was in pain. "You may sit out a bit or I can take you to the medical teacher if you need it" she offered quietly. She imagined it was a bit embarrassing and tried to be discreet.

Jaden closed his legs and reached for his toes as instructed. The thump of Tatsuke's forehead on the mat made his ears twitched. He swiveled his head as he leaned forward to grab his toes. It seemed Tatsuke had performed a shot below the belt... on himself. His legs buckled briefly as he imagined the pain. Jaden looked forward again, settling for a cringe.

Nami and Kira looked on. They couldn't relate to the pain, but it seemed to do the trick to the boy. Kira quickly put herself in the stretch, her forehead on her knees as she hid her silent laugh. Nami seemed more interested in the wolf on the floor that seemed to have just flopped onto the floor rather than really stretched.

Tatsuke took a few moments to collect himself after that, but he did pick himself up. It took every bit of courage in his body, but he eventually did crack a broken smile at the teacher. It was pretty evident he just wanted to go back to his room and evaporate into the ceiling, but after a wipeout like that the worst thing to do would be to flee like a scared mouse. His father would have been ashamed if he did that. "I'm okay..." His voice was most certainly raised a few octaves.

He could go back to his room and nurse himself later, and pretend he didn't exist while he was at it. For now he had to at least look like he wasn't a total loser. He went back on his knees, his shoulders shaking the slightest bit. "I can still do, I sorry. Earlier me and friend do yoga, I very sore from, make slipping." He bowed his head to the teacher, "Forgive me." Everything was still hurting. There was still a bit of dizziness and nausea in his mind and stomach. But how stupid would it be to get kicked out of gym class on the first day because you slipped while stretching? The guys wouldn't say a word, but there was a good amount of females in this class and each and every one of them could probably beat the snot out of him. Leaving would be like strapping a steak to his belt and walking in a lion's den.

~

Sin shook her head. She'd seen worse shots, but that didn't stop her from sending sympathy vibes. Of course she'd never know that pain, but she'd known how bad it seemed up close. He probably wouldn't be sleeping well tonight, or walking right. She looked away when he pulled himself up. Well, points for effort. She held back a little snigger of her own. He did that on his own, he deserved a little chuckle. She went into the new stretching position with ease seconds later.

~

Choru wasn't paying attention to Tatsuke. He was trying to figure out how he could mimic the toe-touching exercise. Most of the time he spent on the bear skin rug position after the change was just figuring out how he would swap into the new pose. The best he could get was a roll-over, in which he laid on his sides and stretched his legs out, splaying his toes. "This is silly..." He grumbled to himself. He pulled himself up until he was sitting. Maybe... He pushed one leg out, and stretched his wing to touch it. It was no contest. His wings far exceeded how far he could stretch his leg, which was only natural to allow him to fly without the aid of magic. He got better stretches from licking himself.

Morke was next to him, mimicking every move his 'papa' made. His blood red eyes fixed on Choru's face. Would it be better if he also mimicked his expression too? Okay. The little dragon furrowed his brow and pursed his lower lip, then lowered his head so he looked like a little gargoyle, swishing his tail back and forth in synch with Choru's. Even his stumpy little wings wiggled when Choru's fluttered. Meanwhile, neither noticed Nami staring at them. Choru too absorbed in his own woes and Morke just staring at Choru.

Dain was silent while doing the "V" stretch. His body wasn't to flexible, being more about brute force than anything. It was when he was looking at Tatsuke that what would probably be the most interesting part of class happened. He watched Tatsuke go down when slipping and couldn't help but wince in pain at the sight. He knew the feeling and began to wonder if the boy would be alright. Dain's attention flickered back to the teacher when she instructed them into a new stretch. Dain sighed, his patience level quickly running out. How long were they going to stretch? It was getting boring. Of course this whole time Dain had an innate ability to have completely forgotten to answer Jaden. Dain was curious, it was a good question and though he did feel a tingling sensation it didn't necessarily hurt. "Not really, though, I believe that is because the UV output between the sun's energy and the light bulb's energy are different. Well, that is my theory at least."

((I know typically you do much more stretches but for the sake of class lets not and say we did >.>))

Ms. Hawkins smiled, "It's quite alright. You may stay if you're ok" she assured. The teacher moved back over to her spot. "Alright, everyone up, time to start a game. Nothing like a team building exercise like capture the flag. It's quite simple, you must first find the other team's flag and successfully capture it" she explained. "We'll do draft pick of two captains. One pick at a time, you get it" she paused. She looked around, "Dain and Sin- you look like captain material. Pick your teammates- take turns mind you" she stated.

Jaden cocked an eyebrow, "What does she mean 'find?' We're in an open room...' he muttered quietly. He glanced back to Dain, thinking about his response, "Oh... yeah I suppose that could be it" so vampire were just intolerant to gamma radiation. Interesting.

Dain glanced up from the floor towards the teacher as she stated the captains for the game. It was pretty obvious from his look that he didn't want to have any part of this game, yet alone be a captain. But never the less, the teacher's word is law, so unhappily he stood. Dain made his way towards the teacher, looking around to get an idea of the group and who there was to pick from. Dain had an idea of whom he wanted on his team, which was the human boy, Tatsuke, Jaden and well, any one else but Kira. Dain looked at the teacher, suddenly wondering how they were going to pick who goes first. "Uh, are we going to do rock paper scissors, or pick a number or what?"

"I'll just go first." Sin stated strongly. That teacher picked right; Sin was a person who felt completley at ease in a leadership role, in fact she often took over teams when she was supposed to be a subordinate without noticing. She looked at the rest of the people in the gym class, skimmed over the Valravn and the Gracedonia... she chose her first member, and the descision probably surprised everyone in the room, perhaps even including Sin herself. "Werewolf girl. Get over here, I choose you."

Did she know what she was doing? Her face was one of resolve. She didn't seem fearful or forceful or even elated. She just looked like she was picking a member for the team. Or was there more to it? Sin had mde a choice, and her expression reflected that. She madw a choice and she was going to stick with it through thick and thin.

The teacher stood back and folded her arms across her chest, waiting for the students to pick their teams. She knew nothing of their previous quarrels or disdain. So when Sin picked Kira, she didn't bat an eye. She just hope the students were also thinking about each others abilities.

Kira sat pretzel-style with her arm propped up on her leg, and her head resting on her hand. She'd already expected to be picked last. It took a few seconds for her to realize her name had been called as a choice. Her brow knitted together suspiciously before releasing again. "Tsk" the small noise came out. She stood up and walked over to Sin's side, folding her arms across her chest as well- though more from attitude.

Dain watched Sin approach and stand with her hands crossed full of confidence. He sighed. He knew that this was going to be a quite troublesome game and opponent from her stature, and when she declared that she will pick first, he mainly just shrugged. It didn't matter to him either way. It wasn't until she confidently declared Kira as her teammate, did Dain let out an obvious sigh of relief. With a new fire and will now flourishing, Dain went on to make his choice, "Tatsuke, your on my team, that is if you can stand." Dain smiled at the human boy, happy that they can work together.

Tatsuke had been thinking he was going to be the one picked last after hearing Kira get picked. The world was most certainly upside down, and Tatsuke thanked his lucky stars for that! He was able to stand after waiting a while, even if he was limping a little. He didn't say anything to Dain for picking him, but his smile and grateful bow said miles more than he culd express any other way.

In another way Tatsuke had a lot to offer to his team. His keen eye was already analyzing the current members of the first team. Sin was an Azel, she wouldn't be a fast runner. She would most likely be used for flag keeping, or they would hide her somehow. No one would have to worry about her chasng them. Kira would be a harder nut to crack in a game of speed, but he had a feeling she wasn't the loyalest of members and that perhaps that could be played. Any way, on first assumptions he couldn't take a lot from her and they would have to expend some energy to make sure that unpredictable piece was taken out of play.

He'd been trained from the moment he was a baby about strategy, outwitting and confounding opponents so that the smallest army could slice a hole through the largest armada. Without even knowing it, Tatsuke could have caused a hundred deaths near the end of he war with tactical discussions he had with his father via letters. Sin was a female wth leadership skills h wouldn't take lightly, but she may have been outclassed with the announcement of two syllables that he called his name.

~

Sin did not huff or growl at Kira for her attitude. She kept her head high, exactly where it had always been, and looked ahead at the others she would be picking for her team. The Azel didn't do so much as a scoff at Kira. In her role, she was the leader and as a leader it was her job to not get caught in petty quarrels about simple moral disagreements. She could sympathise with Kira's lack of regaurd for authority or she could condemn it completley, but in the end she didn't know Kira nor why she was that way. It wasn't right for her to judge so quickly. Sin would choose her now and see how she really was; teamwork showed the truest social side of people, and from there she would give her whatever behavior she warrented. But even if Sin ended up hating her guts, she would always respect her. That was what she was taught, and she was no enemy unless she was treated as such. "Valravn. You look fast, I choose you."

Choru always had a word of protest, "But I-!" "Do you want to be on this team or not?"

Choru was bashed into silence by her tone. She didn't ask, she commanded a response. The kind of command that made a dog sit, lay down, and roll over. What topped every other word, spoken or unspoken, that she could have made was her silver eyes looking right into his brown. She was a dominant female and she knew it, and no contrarary man or beast could challenge that. Not now. He wanted to be on the team... or at least, he didn't want to say no to Sin. So he went to her side of the court and sat his white meat down. Morke all the while stll staring at Mitch, who was still draped over Sin's shoulders like a boa.

Dain frowned at Sin's next pick. He wanted Choru on his team, mainly because he thought it looked cool. Dain looked around examining the students out on the floor. He already knew who he was going to pick next, but he figured he shouldn't make it too obvious. Dain sighed at the choices that are going to be left. "Jaden, your with me."

Jaden's ears twitched as each of them were called. He sighed quietly. Perhaps he hadn't really clicked with someone. He definitely wanted to be on Dain's team if not for the soul reason he didn't have a good first impression of her. His tail tapped impatiently on the ground as the others walked to their called teams. He wondered then if he'd be picked last. I haven't been social with anyone other than Jeth... perhaps it's punishment for that... he thought. Dain suddenly called his name. Jaden climbed quickly to his feet. That was a relief. He went and stood by Tatsuke. Zeek trotted along, sitting next to where Jaden had moved.

Sin gestured at Mistry. She wanted to call her by her species name, or her real name... but she had no idea what the deer-dragon-plant thing was. "You, uh..." Choru bailed her out, "She's a Gracedonia. Dying race, speaks telepathically." He made sure he didn't add in the fact that Valravn used to eat them, he didn't say that he heard they tasted very good, and he didn't make a snarky comment about how all the plant races were dying. Sin returned the favor by gulping down the fact that she wouldn't be able to speak to Mistry. She assumed Choru knew -which he did- and hoped he would be her translator since the best she would hear from Mistry would be her hooves clopping on the ground. "Gracedonia, I choose you too."

Nami looked around, seeing she was the only one left. She smiled faintly. She didn't blame them. The only person who had actually met her was Tiberius. She stood up and walked to Dain's team, "Guess I'm your only choice now. Names Nami" she greeted, lacing her fingers behind her back. Coorta seemed pleased to get off the floor. She, like Nami enjoyed cleaner surfaces.

Ms. Hawkins stepped forward, "Well now that that's all settled, lets get down to the game. As I said, you will have to find each other's flags and capture them. Now I see those looks from some of you. How does this work on an open floor? Well, thankfully for you, I have some tricks to make things more interesting" she smiled. She raised her right hand above her head, a bright light starting to build in it. She thrust it towards the floor and the light coated the floor at lightning speed. Bright white now covered the floor as walls suddenly burst from the light, making a maze across the room. THe light faded, revealing the surfaces to be crystal in shades of pink, purple, and blue. The walls of the crystal were solid, so as not to be seen through.

She then stomped her heel on the floor, creating a burst of feathers around her feet that spread across the floor and up the walls before disappearing. Ms. Hawkins looked back to the class. "This is the maze in which you will play. You may use whatever abilities you have to fight- just try not to maim each other. I rather not have to take anyone to Professor Esvos after class. The feather magic I just used has made the crystal surface the consistency feel of hard rubber. Sturdy enough to run on, but soft enough to break a fall without breaking your bones" she grinned. "One more thing, no peaking over the walls aloud, they are 15 feet high, so I believe there will be no 'accidents'" she looked over to Choru, as he had wings. "You may begin"

She snapped her fingers at both groups. Two large feathers wrapped around both teams and teleported them in a blink to their home flag location before fading away. Ms. Hawkins used her feather magic to create feathered wings. She flew onto the top of a wall and stood there, watching for any issues.

[[before any of you harp on me about power-playing, please note my comment in OOC. This is what Mistry would do as she does not understand the concept of games and sports. She's never partaken in them before.]]

Mistry's tail swayed slowly, her green eyes shifting from student to student to teacher. As the Azazel pointed at her and fumbled in how to address her, she was about to send her telepathic greeting when the Valravn cut in first. Stepping towards Sin's team, she attempted to send her telepathic greeting but something felt resistant. This was puzzling and new to the Gracidona. However, there would be more time later to muse about it.

Now, there were a couple of misconceptions that Choru and Sin assumed. Firstly, the Gracidona was not a dying race; it never grew over five and it was never fewer than five for more than a few centuries. Similarly, Gracidonas were not necessarily a 'plant' race, born from a mixture of the elements and taking the form of any type of beast be it herbivore, omnivore, or carnivore. In disagreement to Sin's assumption, Mistry's hooves made no sound with each step she made along the solid floor; never had and never will due to the very thin (and practically invisible) layer of air that rested between the ground and her hooves. It was an unconscious doing, something that Mistry wasn't even aware of herself.

Once Ms. Hawkins gave her show of magic and a brief explanation of what the students were allowed and not allowed to do, Mistry's ears swiveled faintly. They could use whatever abilities they had? Well, alright then. However, wasn't 'gym' supposed to exercise the physical body? Not it's magical capabilities? No matter, things must be different from culture to culture and it was likely that Mistry's experiences were a bit outdated.

The mark was given and...

Mistry didn't move, her tail and 'mane' weaving with their own minds. Instead, she focused her mind inward and everything around her was washed over with a tint of blue. Sounds were muffled and her vision blurred at the edges. However, that did not hinder the Gracidona. With the faintest feeling of moving through something like tar, Mistry separated her Astral body - her soul - from her physical body. At first, such a task would not allow the Astral body to distance itself from the physical body too far. In Mistry's case, she had the practice of a couple thousand years on her side, allowing her to move away to a much greater distance without any risk to her life.

Moving forward at a relaxed pace, she slipped through each wall in her way, maintaining a straight path. What took her Astral body a minute or two of time, the physical plane had only progressed a few heartbeats. It was a disconnection that Mistry had mostly figured out by now but still seemed a bit confusing. The simple bit of it was that those on the Astral plane moved at a faster pace than those on the physical plane by about the ratio of five to one; or something of the sort. So, by the time that she reached the flag in the Astral plane, the students on the physical plane would be rounding their second or third corners, based on if they ran or walked.

When she found the other team's flag, Mistry's Astral body melted back into her physical body, giving no outward sign to signify what she had done. Her vision cleared and sound became normal again, the tint of blue fading away and yielding to the yellow lighting. Her tail lashed downwards to tap the ground and a stream of wind shot forward, up over the walls, across the room, and slightly to the left where it dipped downwards to dislodge the opposing flag from its stand. In the same motion, the flag was carried away, back to where Mistry stood beside her own team's flag.

After all was done in almost the blink of an eye, the Gracidona turned her gaze towards the teacher. Telepathically, she sent Ms. Hawkins the sensation of curiosity accompanied by the image of people cheering. Was this victory?

Ms. Hawkins teleported herself to Mistry as she saw the image of the flag, "Nah ah-ah. No cheating my dear. You are not aloud to use psychic abilities to find the flag. You must look for it by moving physically- and not through walls either. And you yourself must claim it, not your winds. I said you could use your abilities to battle, not cheating" she explained. She snapped her fingers and the flag warped to a different location. "Now I must go explain this to the others" she teleported herself to the other group and explained the situation to them, "Now since someone cheated, we have to move you to a new location, so here we go" she teleported the group to the flag's new location. She blinked herself back to her original post on the wall.

Sin felt uncomfortable in this magical maze, being it was something she never thought should be happening in a gym. Was everything in this school magical, and if so did they know what that meant for an Azel? She always had to stand right in the middle of the hall and not even try to touch the magic crystal with her hands. A magic sink always tried to neutralize the abilities within a magically enhanced substance or totally ignored it. If she stuck her hand in a magic fire, it would stop being hot, if she tackled a magically controlled wall of air, she would slide through. When Azels built castles and houses by hand, the earth lost all magic properties and earth mages couldn't manipulate them anymore. Sin was afraid if she fell on the wall it would break or loose its properties and she would be in major trouble. Especially if it was real rune crystal, she'd heard it was really expensive and rare and could only be harvested by Earthmates.

When it was said that Choru was fast, it was no understatement. After a little snort about the fact there was only fifteen feet of aerial leeway, he took off. There wasn't too much extra room for the tips of his wings, but there was enough to break, turn and accelerate. He had flown in tighter before. He stopped here and there to sniff at the ground and try to catch the scents of the opposing team and of his team.

But then the word rang out, Mistry cheated. Sin shook her head silently and Choru groaned. Good thing it happened early in the game and not when they were about to claim the flag, though. The Valravn was still annoyed he had to re-sniff everything now to find out where the opposing team was.

~

It ended up disrupting Tatsuke's plans too. He had been memorizing all the pathways leading to his team's flag, plotting every move that the opposing team could make on their flag. Everything was rearranged now and he had to re-memorize everything. But it was fine, after all he was a genius. Memorizing a simple maze was child's play. It was all a fear of when the opposition would arrive that kept him on his toes.

Well, he was sure it would at least be a few minutes before one of them showed up. He should take it easy, else he would have a harder time remembering all the twists and turns of the maze. It wasn't like they would show up without any warning.

Then Choru showed up without warning.

They would have collided if not for the sharp turn on Choru's part and the duck and cover on Tatsuke's. The wolf-raven let out a laugh, "See ya, squinty!" He kept racing towards the flag, he could smell it! But something stopped him almost mid-flight, jerking him to a complete and utter stop. He let out a loud whimper and slammed his chin into the ground. His body was on the ground but his wing was frozen to the wall. "Hairless monkey!" Tatsuke stepped forward to make sure he didn't hurt Choru with that ice spell. But he obviously didn't get hurt that much. Not when his wing was jerked free shattering ice over the ground. Tatsuke had no idea what to do! How could he keep him from the flag?! This was the part he didn't think through. Choru spread his wings again and ran to get a head start, this time his four feet were frozen to the ground. This time he rushed to the wolf to tag him out(?) when Morke suddenly became apparent. The little dragon faced Tatsuke, his little red eyes full of mischief and a white snigger made from sharp teeth. Tatsuke was frozen like a charmed snake. "BOO!"

Choru got time from that. Once more the ice broke and the Valravn took off, this time Tatsuke was too stunned to cast another spell quick enough. "Him now here! Someone get dog!"

Kira shifted up into her werewolf form, "I'll just guard the flag then. You kiddies go do something" she snorted. Choru had already taken off and seemed in quite the hurry. She wasn't one for strategy, but it still seemed dumb for everyone to run off without leaving someone to protect the flag. She gave a sneering grin at the group. It wasn't hard to figure she wouldn't play well with them anyway. She was still trying to figure out Sin's choices about teammates. They all more or less hated each other.

Nami straightened out her kimono. Running around and getting in sweaty fights didn't seem like much fun. She stayed near the back so she would be the last to get to everything. Tatsuke seemed to take the lead as he went off into the maze. Jaden eventually followed after him, hearing Tatsuke's mangled cries for help not long after. Jaden zipped around the corner, seeing Choru. He hunkered down and grabbed the hilt of his sword. He paused with a frown. Right, no maiming each other. The Untamed released the handle with a sigh and jumped up and forward at Choru, trying to grab on with his now-extended claws. He was a speed demon on his own and figured the two high speeds going at each other would be harder to evade.
