Felic nodded, caught off guard by Sin's mild show of strength. Note to self: don't get Sin angry and vying for a physical altercation... Shaking his head, he started walking with her back inside. "You intending to put those in your room or just stash them in the kitchen's coolers?" he asked, idly brushing off his two chosen apples with his coat.

---

"That sounds distressing..." Soria frowned in concern, watching the hatchlings a few moments longer before turning her gaze to the stairway. The library was either on the first or second floor from what she remembered. Right? Hmmm... oh well. They would get there eventually whether or not she remembered correctly.

*Narvix jumps the three/four to the library because she's tired and lazy.*

Holding the large double doors open for the two hatchlings to pass through first, she paused and glanced around. It seemed there still wasn't any librarian or anyone here

so Soria began to wonder if there was someone hired to keep the library cared for. As she was questioning this and stepping forward, she began to speak. "I don't know how this library's set up but it's probably set up like any other with a number system. Though, there doesn't seem t-"

"Do you need any help? You seem rather lost."

Soria jumped, covering her mouth to stop a scream from escaping her lips. Whirling around to see who had spoken, the young witch stared wide eyed at... nothing. No one was behind her but, she was certain she'd heard the speaker by the doors! "You'll find Jasmine in the next isle over. She tends to move around a lot." Who-?

Duordin squealed in surprise, fleeing from the row of books back towards Soria. Where he had been, a young woman materialized into sight, vaguely transparent and hovering a few inches above the ground. "Siloquy, you know that students are supposed to address teachers by their last name. It's formal, I get that, but it is regulation." The ghostly woman smiled warmly and greeted the witch and hatchlings. "You're free to call me Mrs. Sentra or just Jasmine. Either or works so long as none of the other teachers catches you."

To the right, claws could be heard clacking lightly against the floor before the source came into sight. "My name's Siloquy. We run the library here." The female dragon was tall, certainly taller than any bipedal being Soria had seen so far. To match her height, her tail was just as long for the purpose of balance, held low to the point of almost brushing the ground. Something seemed off about the dragon but Soria couldn't put her finger on what yet.

"It's a pleasure to meet you two, Mrs. Sentra and Siloquy. I'm Soria, this is Duordin, and they're Xavier and Damien. The twins are here in search of something, I'm not quite certain what." The young witch motioned to the Bloodscales hatchling and Siloquy stepped towards the young, two-headed, hatchling.

"Perhaps I can answer your questions without you needing to search through hundreds of tomes?" The tall dragon crouched down slightly, attempting to be more at Xavier's and Damien's eye level. "What is it that you seek to know?"

(Did I!? I Think I did. I believe, Narvix, the word you are searching for is tomes, not tombs o.o If you're looking for the term referring to books, not places for dead people.)

The twins scampered through the doors as Soria held them. They twisted and turned with Soria as the voices came from seemingly nowhere. As Siloquy came into view the twins stared up at the larger dragon in awe. "We... we need to find a book that answers, or at least the answer to, this question. Do bloodscale hatchlings tend to lose the ability to hear each others thoughts after hatching, or are we really just... different? Maybe in a bad way?" Asked Xavier sheepishly. The pair looked scared, their tail was tucked between their legs, and Dameon had taken to drooping his head very low. Xavier hadn't quite snapped as hard, and was still wide eyed, though nearly frightened, over the dragon towering over him.

(I shouldn't attempt to correct grammar then post such dribble at this. Uhg...

Also Narvix, I'm going to let you chose which it is. Defective pair, or just a common thing. I have loose plans for both.)

She, of course, was already munching on one of them. Honestly, when apples were involved, it was more noteworthy to mention when she wasn't eating them. That whole 'apple manipulation' story didn't seem too far fetched, especially if there was some big predictable curse that said that Azazels would be addicted for the rest of ever to the fruit that was their downfall. "My room. I ain't gonna some lazy creep just mozy on in and steal the apples I came to pick. I'll keep 'em where no one'll eat 'em but me or you. Someone else wants apples, they can come almost break their necks for 'em."

The branch-busting had been nothing. If Felic asked her about her, she wouldn't pass the opportunity to show off. If she put her mind to it, she could probably uproot a small tree or kick down a thick wooden door. Not bad for being the size of a normal human and with no magical enhancements. All while being sixteen. She had a friend who could do better even than that, though, who only had one arm.

~~~
"JEEZ NUGGETS!" Choru shouted as he started racing out of the forest with the incredibly heavy Morke riding his back like some kind of Princess Mononoke. The forest suddenly had a seizure, just as he was exiting. This thoroughly freaked the wolf-being out, but Morke was just staring at it like... well, Morke. He looked at everything weird like it was totally normal and at normal things like they were some slime-covered reject of nature as a rule of thumb. Someone was making a demand for him, which was the biggest mistake in dealing with him. Choru hated demands. He was no dog... well, scientifically, yeah, but not in his heart. Stupid, convoluted and confusing as that sounded...
Oh god. It was a Polymorph. Was there any other enemy animal that just wanted to waltz out of the woodwork now?! Was it going to rain dead, angry ghost babies now? Were Draugr going to ascend from the floor? Why not have a big flipping musical number of pre-teen Twilight fans doing cartwheels in the air over crouching Whitewalkers as magical unicorns were held up by cheerleader pyramids of pixies and fairies all the live long day? "Whaaaat?! What on this beautiful earth do you want from me?!" He stood in front of her, looking for a way to slide passed her. "First off, fruit salad, Don't demand me to do anything. You don't know me, I certainly don't know you. Unless there is some kind of magical reward that would give me hands, I really don't care. Second, there's a lovely thing called 'introducing oneself.' You start by asking my name, I reply by saying, 'Why hello, I'm Choru Malk-Stillskin! And you are?' to which you reply 'I'm Namety-Nameo-McNamed-Name the second.' And then we become lifelong freaking friends and we ride off into the west until the sun sets. Or it won't because you 'demanded' me like I'm your own personal Lassie." He tried to move around her. "Now scoot, you Hippie. I need to get to class!"
Morke piped up, "If you don't move he'll make rainbows again... I don't like when he makes rainbows..."
Autumn growled at the wolf-bird, a stern look on her face. "You deserve no respect from me, Valravn. Your people played a hand in the hunting of my race, and if you have not heard, I am the last of them. My children, the would have been progenitors of my race, were ripped from this world, ripped from me, near the end of the war. So in exchange for me not hunting you down and letting my pets grow across your respiratory system and let you internally bleed out and suffocate to death, you're going to help me find a way to fix this." She said quietly, all of the poison she had forced behind every word. "You needn't know my name, my occupation, my desires. All you need to know is what I want from you and what happens if you don't. Find me after your silly class, and we'll 'talk' more Birdbrain McFoodprey." Hissed the Phytomorph before sliding out of his way.
(Sorry for short post I wanted to make sure he could get to class, I'll be gone a good chunk of today.)
Devon couldn't keep the wonder from her expression, admiring the architecture of the buildings, the simple elegance of each structure, the sounds and smells from Tatsuke's experience, and the people! There were so many of them! Humans lived so differently from the way her peoples did, Devon wondered if all humans lived this way. It was interesting how everyone seemed to have very similar skin tone and most everyone had hair black as a raven's wing, but it didn't take long for Devon's observant eye to notice the subtle differences that made each person unique. She loved the bridges and the huge metal dome, but her favorite part of the journey was when Tatsuke took them back to his place and showed him the trees with the beautiful pink blossoms. Devon watched as Tatsuke caught one of the blossoms, and admired the simple beauty of them. Wanting to feel the word he said on her own lips, Devon repeated hesitantly, "Sa-ku-ra? Sorry. I hope I didn't butcher it too badly." She said lowering her gaze. "It's just such a beautiful sound, so I had to say it hehehe." Returning her gem like eyes to Tatsuke's sparkling golds she continued, "I think your homeland is beautiful. It has something so simple, yet deeply special about it. I've never seen so many people all in one place before. Your technology is also something I've never seen until I made my journey here. Water and electricity don't work well with water, so we use enchanted and magical items instead. And Seasons?... Where I'm from we have the wet season and the not so wet season, but that's it. I've only seen snow from a distance way up on the mountain tops. I've always wondered what it would feel like, but the mountains are too dangerous to climb and I'd need special clothing to help keep me warm enough up there..." Devon glanced up at the sun to check the time adding, "I hate to say this, but it looks like it's getting close to time for your class... Want me to walk you there?"
{{Lucky feel free to have Devon escorting Tatsuke to his class if you want to use her, and have Tatsuke correct her pronunciation. I think this is the shortest post I've written ever I just couldn't think of anything to say hehehe.}}
Now with his breakfast eaten, and his dragons eaten, he turned to everyone remaining in the cafeteria and cleared his throat. "Does anyone have Gym first block today besides me?"
((Writers block blehhh. Being sick doesn't help either... Sorry guys))
"Lady, there is so much wrong with everything you just said that it hurt me to hear you. If I deserve no respect from you, then you deserve no respect from me. I never killed any children. If I had, do you really think I would have entered this Academy as a stupid wolf with no thumbs or magic capabilities? Hell, I wasn't even born until the war ended. I'm not my entire race, nor am I representing it. I'm just myself- Choru. A loudmouthed dumbass who only thinks about getting his classes done and taking care of his dragon. You're the third person who has threatened me today and I'm done with it. I'm a doctor, not a botanist. I can't grow, or sire, or whatever any baby Polymorphs. All I can do is pit-poor dark magic and mend bones." Honestly, Choru was done with the day already. He was already feeling dejected from this morning, and now there was a crazy bonsai lady telling him she was going to eat his lungs if he didn't resurrect an entire race. Didn't anyone realize he wasn't a hero, and he wasn't a villain? Choru thought that when he came to this school he would find intelligent beings who maturely assessed situations and worked to make their world a better place. Being greeted by nothing but threats and violence, he was apparently wrong. Choru started walking around her. "I just do magic for sacrifices. That's it. Oh, and get a better insult. 'Birdbrain McFoodprey?' Where did that come from, the sandbox or the swingset?"
Hearing about her children... he felt bad about that. No child deserved to be taken from the life they'd barely come to know by a game that echelons played. They didn't know the world, had no idea of why they were being punished. For that reason, he was sorry. If she had approached him with that fact before all, asked him to help her undertake a noble quest to help her race, Choru may have said yes. But she spoke of her children like they were nothing more than breeding animals. It felt to him that any people she brought into the world she would mash together ruthlessly to force her race back into being. Lives weren't flowers to be crossbred in a garden. She painted herself as some magnificent being, not as a woman who wanted to see her people flourish long after her last sunset painted the hills golden. If her race was anything like her, who threatened to get what they wanted and obliterated all in their way, Choru wanted no part in resurrecting it.
Maybe it sounded like Choru didn't like his kind. Why? It was true, plain and simple. The only difference was that Valravn were evil because that's what the world came to make them. Sure, they ate Gracedonia and that caused them to come into conflict with Polymorphs. Lions kill each other's cubs and wolves eat deer while they are still alive, yet people worship them as wise animals that people could learn a lot from. People just hated Valravn because they were mirrors of their own sins.
~~~

Tatsuke had a bittersweet feeling as she admired how beautiful his city was, and just plain felt awful deep in his gut when she spoke about never seeing so many people in one space. He wished he hadn't shown her the city. Tatsuke focused on her talking about the scenery, which seemed to be her favorite anyway. "Sa-koo-rra" When those from other languages said the word, they accented the 'kura' instead of the 'sa'. He gently said the R, by touching his tongue gently across the roof of his mouth so only the K made a harsh noise. Almost everything about him was gentle. Which was why he dreaded going to gym so much. "The mountain is not easy place to reach top, I am never do. Dangerous, always snow, even when hottest. But the forest around is most always beautiful, in many senses."

"I would like, yes." It would be nice to have someone with him to at least walk him to gym class, even if him and Devon didn't exactly share the class. Together, they walked the rest of the way to class, filled with little chit chat and small quips about each other's lands. Tatsuke never mentioned the city, or his people, after showing her however.

After he said his good-byes and see-you-laters, he took a seat like everyone else. This was when he began to feel the most awkward. In his basic, thin purple shirt with lavender linings, his flimsy arms and bone-skinny body were incredibly apparent. If he was a little bit younger, he would have looked every part of the nerd who got pushed around constantly. He crossed his arms, each hand over the other shoulder, and wished that this would be that stupid introduction class where they didn't make you do anything but they explained all the rules of conduct. Namely not to beat up your classmates.

Autumn growled, her eyes hard and unforgiving. "Because I hold reservations because your race played a part of my race's extinction, you refuse to respect me? Refuse to hear my words? Have you no shame?" She asked angrily, lashing her hand out to slap him. She stopped her hand mid swing, her form shaking. "You have no idea. One cannot fathom the pain that lives inside me until they have lived centuries, more like millennium, watching their kinds number slowly dwindle. Watching friends, and family die. The people you care about. Your husband, your lover, your parents, each dieing slowly and painfully, and then to watch your last hope of continuing to socialize not only with your own race, but your own family, your kin, crushed beneath the boots of human pigs. You dare question my anger? My seething, undying rage at anyone even slightly connected to that? You're no longer worth my time. You obviously don't even understand why I bothered to find you- dark magic is a path that could help me find away to breed again, to revive not only my dead race but my sense of family. Combined with the knowledge of the school herbologist I thought you would jump at the chance to right the wrongs your people committed. But I guess you're no more than a filthy mutt, a dark beast bent only on protecting his own welfare, like the rest of your disgusting race." Ranted the enraged plant. Her form had continued to shake in rage, frustration, and pain, and a green tears of chlorophyll had begun streaming down her face. She turned, her steps uneasy and wobbly, storming back into the woods.

Choru listened. He heard every word. She almost slapped him and he braced for it, never once showing his fangs. Morke however, was getting ready to lash out and bite the lady for striking his beloved 'Papa'... but then there was no blow. When she raved at him, Choru's face was stoic. He didn't argue, he didn't lament about how unfair she was, he just listened carefully. When she was done, she began to stomp away. Don't think he didn't hear her voice break or see her green tears. He stopped her flee, in a flash up on the air in front of her, flapping his wings to stay in place. His voice when he spoke held none of the common whine. He was completely serious. "No, not because you hold reservations, because you outright began to threaten me. I should be asking you if you have no shame, if you needed my help so much." Just to berate her and continue the argument? Seemed Choru-y enough. "I don't question your anger but I do expect decorum. Next, what I'm saying now is not because of my race, or the human race. I will not right wrongs I did not commit. I have limited knowledge, but I will do what I can to help you." Was this even the same Choru? "But know this. I will not help you because of what I am, I don't care if you're the last of your kind or creed. Racism, favoring and hating, is what started the war. I want to help you because I'm a doctor, and my job is to help people heal. This war has scarred you, obviously. If caring for your children will help those scars begin to heal- that's what I want to be a part of. As two souls that share the same ground and sky."

Choru wouldn't profess to know any of her pain. He had a good life compared to most people. He knew and loved his mother and father, he was close to his sisters. He hadn't been starved, or locked away, or beaten. The greatest traumas of his life was the death of his grandpa and some bullying from his brothers. But Choru had something tucked away in his white breast- compassion. Maybe that was what made him get into herbal medicine and stitches instead of the normal Valravn sacrifice department. If her despair was genuine, then it was wrong for him to turn a blind eye.

And how did he know she wasn't giving crocodile tears? He was part wolf. He just knew.

"So wipe your tears- they're unfitting. But we can't use dark magic to solve your problem. Not only do I need sacrifices to unleash my dark magic, but it also has a negative affect on children." "Papa what's a negative affect?" "Butterflies and rainbows, Morke. We would need earth magic and lots of botany tomes. Lots of them."

"Well, as you appear to only be around twelve hours old, you shouldn't worry. Your abilities won't actually reach a portion of their full potential until at least some years of age. That includes your mental connection. You'll run into patchy moments when you can't privately communicate but that will diminish after time when your connection grows stronger. Believe it or not, it does require energy to speak telepathically as it is a sort of psychic ability each dragon is naturally gifted with." Siloquy smiled, the gesture made as best as any dragon could manage with rigid scales on their lips. "If you like, I can show you a set of books that hold more details about such things as what concerns you?"

As Soria watched the female dragon, what seemed off about her finally clicked in. Her wings weren't attached to her back like other dragons' were. "That's so strange..." The witch trailed off, not wanting to offend Siloquy and moving her gaze away to prevent staring.

Jasmine floated towards the girl and laughed faintly. "Siloquy is unique when it comes to her wings but they do function just like any others that are physically attached to a dragon's back." Soria blinked, not yet used to seeing a ghost in person. Her mother had told her some stories about ghosts and spirits but never actually went into detail about them. The stories just mostly came from pleasure-reading novels.

"Makes sense to me." Felic, again, let Sin enter the large, castle-like, school before him. It was just something he did out of habit, letting others go first. Following her inside, he accompanied her to her room, the stairway creeping into sight after a few turns in the hallway. "Do you know where your class is?" he asked.

"We call it the birth lands. The first Shapers' earliest legends take place in those homes. It is also were battle was joined with the Fire Elementals in the Legend of Sunderings told by the second and third generations." Jeth explained to Truce enjoying the conversation. He really did like telling others about his people. He hoped he would get the chance to make a presentation in cultural studies about his people. Although he was saddened to hear about his people bound by sorcery. "No doubt they are either captured Guiders or most likely Unshaped that were either discovered by the sorcerers or forced into being. In the case of the Unshaped it is better that they are bound for they are dangerous to those around them when left to their own devices." Jeth said his barely visible smile turning into an equally undetectable grimace. Chip pulled free of the scratching and floated over to Jeth landing on his head and sprawling out there. "You're going outside again right?" Jeth nodded to the hatchling. He stood up and placing his foot on the stone stool forced it back into the floor leaving no evidence that it have been there to begin with. "Shall we be on our way Truce?" He asked offering to lead the way out.

Autumn calmed herself slowly, nodding at the wolf-bird. "I know of dark magics draw backs. It is powerful, but it is... a double edged sword." Started the shaken Phytomorph, eying the small dragon. She figured the wolf was trying to hide something from him, but she couldn't be sure why, or entirely what. "But, coming from my knowledge of nature, combining elements, like fire and earth, can create amazing effects without as much of a downside..." she said softly, plucking a seed from he mouth. Stepping away from the edge of the forest, she place it on the ground, pushing it into the dirt with her thumb. She stepped back, far, as a vine like stem erupted from the ground, a bulbous bud at it's end. The flower bloomed, and it shoot a gout of fire above the heads of the trio, shaking like a horse. "Elements of opposite ends can still work in harmony."

~~~
Truce nodded at the elemental, following him out the door. "I would say some of them were unshaped, that is for sure, but from my understanding of my peoples magic I think they're more so from a different plane of existence. The Elemental Plane of Earth." Came the slowly, cautious response. Truce hadn't touched the magic very much, as he had never really needed it besides the occasional floating orb of light. "My people are a newer race, no more than a few millennium old. We were brought out as a curse, or blessing depending on the Drow's point of view, by one of the two gods of my people. You history isn't well know to me for that reason, especially considering your legends probably take place much before the Drow were forced below the surface."
~~~

The twins visibly relaxed, then shook your head. After a few seconds conversing quietly, Xavier turned to Soliquy. "No no, if you say we're okay we believe you. One such of you must know much more than out minute brains. You're so... BIG." They had never seen a dragon other than another hatchling, so the sze of the other dragonkin had had it's effect. "But Soria I believe it is your turn to place a riddle on the proverbial table."

Choru had the most unimpressed face. He really didn't care what her flowers could do, not did he get what her example was going for. He wasn't a student looking to her for guidance, he had agreed to help her have children the way a doctor would help cure infertility. "Dark magic isn't harmonious. Thinking it can be is the quickest way to an untimely demise. It's not made from nature, it's made from the corruption and anger within people's hearts. I don't want to borne anything from it, it wounds them psychologically. Even if it's used in the best of intentions." Morke had a look of utmost confusion on his face. Choru had chosen his words well. His sentence would have been a direct insult to his hatchling if Morke had understood it, and Choru didn't want him to think he acted a certain way just because there was something wrong with him that he couldn't control. Choru's mindset would be that he would raise Morke to think it was a part of himself he had full dominion over and not a dark entity that took control that he had no choice but to submit to. That would be teaching Morke that he had an excuse for doing bad things.

He just hoped as a mother, the Polymorph picked up that what he was dancing around shouldn't be told to Morke so young. "If we use fire magic, cool. It won't burn anyone if it's used to generate. Earth magic? That's just the basis of form. I don't mind that. But light and dark magic comes from the heart and mind and it will affect their lives. I don't want that to be the case."

Being mindful of the fire, Choru started for the gym again. "I actually do have class, but if you want my help then I need you to go find some books on Golem-shaping, polymorph anatomy, botany and a few colorful picture books. Dr. Seuss, if you can get them. I'll meet you in the library after class."

~~

(Magic apple teleport!)

"Yeah, I think I do. We walked by it yesterday." She had started down a hallway already, it probably lead to her gym class. "I'll see you after my class, Fell. Don't fall outta any trees without me!" She smiled and gave a wave. Then broke into a run. She was totally gonna be late if she didn't haul ass, is what her mind said.

Kira watched Austin with increasing curiosity as he not only stayed, but continued to fumble. Did she really make a demon that nervous. It was a bit of a ego-inflation. She smiled ever so slightly as he asked his question. She took a moment, staring blankly at him. Wait, what had he asked. Kira's mind clicked silently before realization dawned on her. Girlfriend?... the word echoed in her mind. Now that was a foreign principal. People not taking interest in her was one thing, but they'd certainly never asked her to be a girlfriend before. She often wondered what that was like. What was so different from friendship? Her mind wandered to couples she'd seen before. Always together, soft, and intimacy. But there was something else with it- weakness. It was making yourself vulnerable to the ultimate degree to someone. They could break your heart in an instant. It was a nerve-wracking principal together. She'd always been one to hold herself strong. She wouldn't show pain to others, she wouldn't cry, nothing.

Kira realized she'd zoned out, staring at Austin with her mouth slightly agape. No.... nonononono she thought, laughing humorlessly in a breathy way. Her hand came up to cradle the side of her head. "I never..." she stopped. If she said no, she may as well have stabbed him with her dagger. "Ah yeah, sure" she said, laughing awkwardly.

Ms. Hawkins turned to the class, "Well it seems there are still a few students missing. But we shall continue anyway. First we shall start off with a warmup before we get into the fun stuff" she pointed at a line drawn around the outside of the floor, "I want you all to jog around the gym for five minutes. I will tell you when it's time to stop" she clapped her hands. "Already, everyone get up and go"

Kira looked at Austin, "Uh... I'll see you later then..." she ducked away, jogging down the floor to avoid further conversation. Nami and Jaden stood and started to jog as well. Jaden was used to this sort of thing because of his culture, so it made no strain. Nami was used to movement as well, but hated getting sweaty. She was a very clean type.

Jeth scowled, his face so dark even Truce would be able to see the disdain on it. "The aliens, ones who claim to be the true elementals and to have given birth to great mother in conjunction with similar aliens from the other planes. We have heard of them. Their claims are folly, utter rubbish and they are not welcome among my kind. Mind yourself around them Truce, they are untrustworthy." Jeth's words carried an anger and disgust that made Chip flinch. She leapt from his head and landed softly on Truce's back. She'd never seen Jeth so angry , it was frightening. "What did you do?" She telewhispered to Truce worriedly. "He's really mad." Her voice was very scared and as though to justify her fear Jeth's footfall had become heavy, laden with the anger he felt with the topic. "Heathens, usurpers every last one of them."

Tatsuke wordlessly complied with the instructions given to him. He made sure not to jog so fast as so wear himself out and not so slow that he would get yelled at. Running as a warm up seemed odd when he thought about it. why not do yoga, which stretches the body and really loosens the muscles for exercise? He should be grateful though, he convinced himself, his joints were still sore from Devon's polities. A simple jog would do him wonders.

It was about the point where Tatsuke reached the conclusion that Sin came bursting into the gym, immediately joining in on the jog. "Sorry Ms. Teacher, got held up! But I'm here now!" It occurred to the Azel briefly that she seemed to be making a habit of getting to places late. Odd. But then, the 'classes' had never really been so precisely timed back home. The only rule was not to be the first one there, and not to be the last one.

Austin looked a little broken. As far as he could tell, that wasn't a full out yes, and he wasn't exactly... happy about it. Far from it really. Had he pushed to fast, to hard? It had only been a little while but... it felt so right to him. It wasn't something he wanted her to feel forced into however, but now he didn't have a good chance to... help mend anything. He shook his head, then slowly walked out the door. Later... Later I'll get that cleared up... I guess. For now, to the headmaster. Kira had mentioned her having an lone room, no roommates. To his knowledge, he had two and that wasn't going to sit well with him. Not with some of the people he had met so far. He'd blow up the school if was roomed with that obnoxious Valravn or that high and mighty Scorpion-Drider thing... that bit was new to him, though he was familiar with both the Drow and Drider. Accidentally summoned by one of the jackasses once. He headed to the headmasters office, knocking on the door with 'Gale' above it.

~~~
Truce watched the elemental darken, and nodded in agreement. "I don't like them. They're too... destructive. Even the ones under control seem to want nothing but to break, even though in essence they tend to break their own elements doing so. I hold no good feelings towards them. I've run into very few of your true kind, they they all seem very... calm. Not like the raging monstrosities that my kin tend to summon. I apologize if it is a sore topic." His mind heard Chip, and he responded in kind. "I just mentioned something that angered him. It has nothing to do with you or me, he won't stay angry long, nor will he harm either of us. Just a bitter subject involving a race of beings that look much like his, claim to be one of his, and are not very good people. Their much like doppelgangers."
Autumn growled silently to herself as Chrou walked away, knowing she could prove him wrong. That she needed to prove him wrong. Did he think she had not scoured the earth for any magic that could spawn one of her race, a male of her race, since her children had been weeded, uprooted from life with so few rings in their trunks? The library, however, she agreed would be the place to start. She would pour over every book she could, at least until classes for her started... she touched the plant she had spawned, sucking her energy back into the body, it's form withering into a decrepit husk. She set off into the school, heading up the stairs towards the smell of paper and aged wisdom.
Mistry rose to her hooves as the teacher called for the students to jog around the gym. What was five minutes of this 'jogging' to Mistry? It was a simple trot that kept her heartbeat and breathing steady. This was honestly child's play for creatures like Mistry or other races of similar builds if not from a trained background. However, she did not grasp the point of running in circles for five minutes yet.
---
"Light as a feather, there is nothing in it. Yet the strongest man can't hold it for much more than a minute." Soria stated, responding to the two-headed hatchling's prompt for a riddle. Duordin squeaked, shaking his head and bumping her calf with his nose. Riddles made his brain and throat hurt; so many words that he just couldn't pronounce or even begin to imitate.
Siloquy chuckled and stood straighter. "Trust me, I am not the largest dragon around. You'll actually grow to be much bigger than myself."
Beside her, Jasmine hovered and the female ghost paused. "Oh! Another student!" She disappeared from sight, reappearing closer to the large doors where she could see Autumn approaching.
[[sorry for the brevity of it. I'm tired.]]
Professor Hawkins glanced at Sin, "I'll excuse it since it's our first day. Just don't make a habit" she said, watching the other students get into their pace.
Kira could tell Austin was not fully satisfied with her answer. There wasn't much else she could have done, given her feelings on the matter. But she would have to deal with that later. She fidgeted from the running. Her werewolf form had such a different feeling, and it was one she was familiar with when running. Her mind wandered to what they might be doing on their first day. It would most probably be some sort of an icebreaker. She exhaled quietly, staring at the ground now. Perhaps she should have told Austin how she felt about others. No, there wasn't time for that. Blast, he had to pick the worst time of all, didn't he? Talk about a hit an run she resisted the urge to make facial expressions that reflected her thoughts.
Jaden looked around at the others as they ran. He spotted Sin as she entered the room and his ears flattened out. The first and only time they'd met she'd poked fun at him. Being the reclusive boy he was, it didn't do well for first impressions. He huffed silently and looked ahead in time to notice he almost ran into Nami. Jaden swiveled to the side, running past her. He was a runner by nature and thus liked to go faster. It was at least nice to see so many beast fold around.
"Come in" the pleasant voice of Professor Gale responded. Inside was a circular room. His wooden desk sat near the back where he sat in a chair with a tall back to it. A large Thunder dragon laid curled up behind him. It seemed to be snoozing on the stone floor. The walls were decorated with various paintings and shelves full of strange artifacts and vials. A wooden cabinet stood off to the side and two windows were on either side of the room.
"What's a doppleganger?" Chip asked as Jeth some time to cool his temper while leading them outside. The little hatchling knew nothing of the world beyond the school. Jeth lead them outside and found his spot where he had sat with Jaden just yesterday. it was still dug up and as far as some people were concerned, completely wrecked. There were a few miniature sculptures laying around. One was the school, the other was a little figure of Jaden sitting down crosslegged. Jeth settled himself next to a hole and a large pile of dirt. Instead of reaching into the hole he began collecting the dirt together into a pile in front of him. "I'm sorry to have shown you that side of me Truce. The topic is not one I am fond of, you are correct that those Aliens are very violent and care little for this world's well being. You can take any pose you like but first I will need time to make this into stone so try a few and when you are satisfied with a choice let me know." He said warmly as he began compacting the dirt. With some help from his ability the dirt became stone. "can I pose with you Truce?" Chip asked becoming excited.
Sin smiled. Good, this teacher wasn't like her aunt. Going off of that statement, she was a long way from her, too. She could cherish her face without any mud on it and keep the bones in her body unbroken. No one would be hung from a flagpole by their underwear, either. But still, she kept an eye on the teacher, just in case she was better at hiding her sadism and really was as cruel as what Sin had been raised with.
The Azel noticed the Untamed flattening his ears as he spotted her. She responded by keeping her head straight and high with her silver eyes focused straight ahead. Her own ears moved about, but not with the movement of a cat's ears. They didn't have the muscles to swerve or 'flatten', per say, they mostly aimed up, down or just stuck straight out. Like switches. Now they were straight up. In this situation that usually said alertness, or pride. It was harder for a human to pick up, but a beastkin probably would right away. That was a sort of bane of Azazels; too beast to be man and too man to be beast. Sin both growled like an animal and like a man depending on her level of anger. But right now she was silent. Yeah she poked fun at Jaden, but that was actually a good response from her at a first meeting. Normally she was like this, silent and distant. A soldier like her aunt trained her to be, who tried not to trust right away.
Of course, she had a nature that directly betrayed that. That was how she managed to bond with Felic so quickly. He broke that facade by appealing to her sympathetic side. Seeing his 'attack' as he recoiled from the overwhelming emotions made her fear and distrust melt away. Because that wasn't how she naturally was. She'd been taught to fear humans without base, the same way she'd been taught beasts would never trust or show kindness at once without base. Everything in the school was new to her, and the only thing she knew were things she was told. Never experienced.
But one thing was a trait of hers and of many social individuals of a social race- Sin found it awkward to just approach people. Without a friendly smile or a beckon she would almost never approach. Jaden sealed it with his ear flatten. He was safe in the respect that Sin wouldn't approach him without cause. Subconsciously, she marked him as a person to avoid. Consciously, she shrugged it off and just made herself look comfortable with who she was and her actions because she no longer felt so comfortable in her environment. How easy was it to act like something perceived as something she felt she shouldn't whilst among strangers, but the moment one realized there were those among the familiar in the room, the walls went back up? All even before she realized there were others of the sort there.
It was about the moment where Sin pulled her head up to look more refined that Choru came trotting into the room. He saw the rest of the class jogging, others seeming to take it further and run, and just slipped into the crowd as silently as possible. He wasn't like Sin in that he burst into a room apologizing. He didn't attract attention when he felt or knew he was in the wrong. But he would be surprised if the teacher didn't notice a white wolf with black wings and brown markings came clacking in. He joined in the jogging, his wolf body happening to make him faster than many of the humanoids even if he didn't try to be. He really had a pet peeve for how he sounded when he walked, he thought, his ears moving around in an annoyed fashion as he listened to his nails on the floor. It would only be worse if he was galloping.
...Was that an Azel.
Better than listening to his clacking nails.
"An Azazel? Wow. Don't you guys all live in the desert or something?" Choru just brazenly approached. It almost caught Sin off-guard. "Stereotype. My heritage is Eastern Forest of the old lands, but I come from Harpsticks which is west and in the new lands. Far from any desert, thanks." Choru opened his mouth, "No, I don't eat goats, take sacrifices, drink the blood of virgins, make voodoo dolls, paint myself with tiger blood, cause famine, spread plague, start fires, ransack, pillage or plunder." -and promptly closed it. For a few seconds there was silence, and Sin looked stern and aloof, most certainly offended. "But do you do that thumb-bitey thing and offer it at the sky?" "That's religious and it's called blood commitance. It's for luck and goodwill. Nothing a Valravn would get." She said it with finality and venom. Too harshly. "I wasn't setting out to be a jerk so don't be a jerk back to me. I don't know much about your kind and you don't know about mine so I don't see what that racist comment was about. If I understand, people who know about your race don't like them either so I probably 'get it' more than anyone else in this school!"
They stared at each other harshly for a little bit... but Sin yeilded. Her eyes softened a little. "...I'm sorry. That was uncalled for. I'm Sin." Before Lucky could describe what tone of voice she was using and all of her body langu- "Of?" This stunned Sin a little. But she answered, "Of the first bloodline of Dire's hand, sixfold down..." No one had asked that question in a long time. It was the equivalent of saying one's last name after a long time of just not having to say it because everyone just knew it. Azazels had a unique system of last names, most people didn't know about it because... well, those who knew about her kind didn't think of them beyond monsters. Who really cared to know? Certainly not her grandfather, who told her she was Sin 'Flynn', not Sin Longlastnamethatisntevenreallyalastnameasmuchasatitle. "How did you know about Azazel titles?" "I know more about people that would tend to like me than people who would dislike me. Azels and Valravn aren't too different. The difference is that people don't like Azels because you're scapegoats and they don't like Valravn because we're threats. But hate just ends up in the same place anyway." Sin nodded in response to his last few words. "It's like colors. When they're bright you can obviously see them better. Love and kindness are bright and they come in many forms. The more negative you get, the darker the colors are, and when it's dark enough you can't even tell the colors apart." "Heh, yeah. Because you don't need to a lot of the time. Hate is hate." "Eh, there's a good skill in knowing what you're dealing with. Fear can be cured with reassurance, anger with kindness. Hate is a strong word but so is love. I don't think there's anything beyond help. There's no such thing as a pure black." "Then you haven't walked in darkness." "The question is if you've seen light. Caves are only shadowed because they've never seen it. When you can't force sunlight into a cave, you make a fire, and with tinder the fire can grow."
Choru repressed a smile. "I heard a lot about Dire when I was a puppy. I think if I ever talked to him, he would sound like you." She was going to thank him for such a nice compliment, since Dire was a hero to not only her culture but to her especially, but... "Maybe if you weren't so brazen and didn't act like you were a mighty warrior you would sound like him more." She huffed at him. "Don't push it, fleabag. I was starting to like you."
All the while as they had their little philosophical debate, Morke and Mitch stared at each other... When Morke started to smile, Mitch retreated to the shoulder where Morke couldn't see him and stayed there.
And Tatsuke did nothing important.
As there was a few hours before lunch, Felic needed to find some way to pass the time. Question was, what should he do? Well, it wouldn't hurt to find out where his next classes would take place at. Perhaps he should find the right rooms? Maybe not. He'd gone through the castle a few times already and knew where each class was generally located. Right now, he wanted to head back to his room. Getting a bit more rest started to seem like a decent idea.
Making his way up the plethora of steps, he headed down the long hallways until he reached his room. With the familiar sound of a key turning in its lock, the Empath entered the quiet room and gently shut the door behind him. There wasn't much to note about his surroundings as he had left everything the way it had been before he'd gone to sleep. However, something felt... different.
Where was the faint sorrow?
Panicked desperation edged his mind, stabbing short spikes into his chest and making his blood pressure rise a fraction. "It's okay. You're safe." Should he be talking to his unhatched dragon as if it were a frightened child? It wasn't actually fear that he sensed, just an urgency. For what exactly? To get out of its shell? Maybe.
Moving towards the shaking egg, he watched and listened as a crack began to spread across the dark shell. Anticipation, no matter how he tried, wheedled its way into his thoughts and encouraged his excitement to flair. However, a flicker of disappointment soon took over when the dragon stopped scratching at the interior of the egg, ceasing its attempt to become free. Everything happens in its own time. You'll hatch when you're fully ready.
Smiling softly, he sat down on the floor before the hay nest and reached forward to settle the egg into his lap. "Those who are the weakest in the beginning, turn out to be the strongest in the end. I believe you are no different." What did that mean for him? Would he be stronger than most after all was said and done? Or would he just remain as a twig that could be snapped underfoot? Unless his strength wasn't meant to be physical?
The scratching started up again, the egg trembling in his hands. After a few moments, the desperation turned into slight triumph and greater urgency as a small chip from the shell broke off and landed in a wrinkle in Felic's coat. The tiny hole soon began to widen as more chips tumbled and cracks splintered away from the edges. When moments turned into minutes, the egg finally shattered completely, blanketing Felic's lap and coat with pieces of the shell. The boy yelped in surprise, flinching in reflex and falling back against his elbows.
Bumping against his calf, the black and blue colored hatchling scrambled to get its paws under it and secure its footing. Quickly, Felic moved his legs further apart to allow the little dragon room. Shock was the dominant emotion that the Empath picked up on, followed by dizziness and confusion. "Easy now. You're making my vision spin..." Feeling dazed like the hatchling, Felic blinked rapidly and shook his head.
Given a few heartbeats to get its bearing, the hatchling stood on firm legs and was able to straighten out its surroundings. "There, that's better..." Blue eyes looked up to meet gray and blinked slowly, taking in the first face of many it would see. He would be its caretaker and it knew this fact to be important.
Autumn blinking, shocked when she walked through door of the library. Ghosts, souls, and the like were a new concept to her, as Phytomorph lore had nothing of the sort. She looked at Jasmine hesitantly, than began with,"Uhhh... Hi. I'm autumn, and I need a few books. She said as she walked further into the fortress of paper. "At least one each on the subjects of dark magic, earth magic, herbology, biology, and if you HAVE one, phytomorph, preferably the physiology of them not lore on them." The twins looked the newcomer over, then turned to Soria. "That's an easy one. Air, or gas, depending on how technical you wanna get." Dameon answered, with Xavier nodding next to him.
Truce nodded at Chip. "Of course you can, if Jeth doesn't mind, though I have no idea how I should pose." He said, looking his body over awkwardly. Grace was never something he had needed. "As for you Jeth, trust me, I've seen worse. I don't know how much you know about my race, let alone the drow I'm so closely knit too, but darkness is something I've seen much of, as something I doubt you're truly capable of." And Chip, a doppleganger is essentially just a race that can take the form of an individual, usually following that with killing the person they mimic, to take over their life for their own purposes.
Austin meekly opened the door, not sure what was gonna be on the other side. He was expecting more than... Gale. "Uh... hello sir... er... Headmaster. I just, I need to ask something of you. I hadn't realized, when picking my room, that I could request one without roommates, and now I have at least one. I was just wondering if... well if that's possible to fix, sir." He questioned quietly, looking around the office. "Especially if I'm roomed with that Valravn..."
Jeth shook his head. "Nope, your more than welcome to pose with Truce but it means holding still until I am done. Can you do that?" Chip responded with an enthusiastic chirp and nod from Truce's back and began practicing different poses, some intimidating others graceful.
"Whatever feels most natural will be fine too. Even if you just choose to stand normally will work. Just try to have fun with it, I can give a moment to figure out something if you like. I've no classes today so there is no rush." Jeth said reassuringly to Truce as he continued to work the dirt into an ever growing stone.
The elemental gave a slight chuckle at Truce's statement. Jeth was a reasonably calm person even amongst his own kind so he wasn't surprised when Truce said that the had seen worse than Jeth being upset. "That is unfortunate but it seems you have come out better prepared because of it, so that is not all bad." Jeth said with a smile now finished with the stone. It was rather large now having used most of the dirt from the piles. "I am ready when you are Truce. Might a recommend a pose that emphasizes your lower body. You could make a very grand appearance with ease if you ask me." He said helping Truce to brainstorm a little about his pose.
The teacher looked down at her stopwatch, "Alright, that's enough jogging. Now that your muscles are all warm, we'll do some stretches. You don't want to stretch without warming up first, you can hurt yourself" she waved them back. "Back to your spots then and sit on the floor if you would" her heels clicked on the floor as she moved to the front of where they were directed to sit and sat down. Her dragon moved along next to her and rumbled the floor as she plopped down. "Nice of you to join us" she said on a slight warning tone as Dain entered.
Jaden looked at the far wall as he jogged. Well this would get boring quick. He looked around once more. His ears flipped up to a point as he noticed Tatsuke. So at least he knew someone here. He considered moving faster to catch up to the other boy. His gears clicked silently before hearing the teacher call it was time to stop. He looked over at her, seeing Dain walk into class after. Hope he ran here, or he's not gonna have a fun time he thought, picturing their stretches.
Nami looked at the floor with disdain once more as she sat down in her original spot. Coorta joined her, sitting on her rear. Kira followed suit, though the sitting position was much less awkward for Chobit since she didn't have hooves.
Professor Gale laced his fingers together and set his chin on them as Austin explained his situation. He chuckled softly. "I would not encourage you to change rooms over a race disagreement... but I do see that you are sharing a room with 2 others?" he snapped his fingers. A list appeared in his hand in a puff of yellow smoke, "Ah yes, that is a bit crowded. For this then, you may choose another room. He waved his hand and a purple puff thumped against Austin's forehead before disappearing. "You may now state your desired room number"
