No, I mean sex, in terms of this here hatchie ! 

 

Sex is biological, and defines how you can BREED and the like. Gender is  "either of the two sexes (male and female), especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones."

 

I get very hacked off about misuse of the words; I have a trans grandson who also feels very strongly about this. His GENDER is male, even though that is not his biological SEX.

Well, OK - Lagie knows I love her to bits. But it is an issue here that always bugs me - we don't use our pinks to influence an egg's gender - that wouldn't help; we use them to influence its SEX, so that it can fit our lineage, and breed the way we hope for.

I rarely want to give away a cb, but I've got 10 of these already!  Neotropical from the AP at 5 days, 9 hours.  Will keep a couple hours then chuck back into the AP--

Some thread renaming might also be needed if that's the case.

But... to support Fuzz's side, we do refer to the sex of a kitten when we're trying to figure out if it's male or female (and anyone familiar with cats knows that's not an easy task). Gender is more a human construct.
