The Power Inside

Recommended Posts

Archer quickly ran after the group followed by Frost. When they got to the scene, a water strangle had been applied by someone. The thing just needed to die. "Frost, give it the icing." Frost opened his mouth and cold wind came out of it. Then, the wind focused in his mouth and turned into a sphere, which Frost fired at the Vespid. It froze in place, without freezing the water. Nodding toward the boy who had come now, Diana watched as the water strangle gave one more tight squeeze, and then disappeared into the same blue mist from which Rain had materialised. This gradually fell away, and she got a good look at the Fiend. It seemed to be some bird thing... Shaking her head, her eyes slid over to the Summoner. Blue hair? Interesting.

She was amazed when she arrived at the Training Area. However, her attention was turned towards the teacher as he began to speak. Selene noticed a cage beside the teacher, who promptly took of the lid and let loose a bunch of Vespids. A number of students had already summoned their Fiends out but Selene was not sure if she should do the same. She decided not to materialise Serpentra but just to run and keep up with the action. She thought to herself, I’ll just summon her when I need to…

A couple of students had totally obliterated the Vespids, perhaps the power level between the students’ Fiends and the Vespids was rather large. She came to the last Vespid that was being drowned by two other Fiends, via a water ball which was frozen just at the surface. She quickly hid behind a tree to avoid being spotted, while quietly observing the current happenings.

The frozen Vespid, now too heavy for the branch to hold, fll and crashed on to the wooden cages below. Several dozen of them broke apart and the Vespid waiting inside scattered madly throughout the training area, a few of them heading directly for those who had yet to call their Fiends.

"Muja!"

Gwen heared a few dull thwacks as the attacking Vespids collided with the blue scales of her Fiend. Seiryu twisted his long serpentine body around her and the Fiendless Summoner's using his body as a barrier.

Archer jumped back as the Vespids came out and scattered over the field. Some of them launched for the ones that yet had to summon. Archer then lifted a hand. "Frost, do it. Special attack." Frost shrieked and four walls of ice appeared around a part of the Vespid group before Frost fired a ice sphere over them. It turned into a rain of ice shards, effectively killing multiple of them. "Good, Frost, get some rest. Dismissed." Archer said as he placed a hand on his chest and dismissed Frost to rest for a while-the special attack always weakened him. He then jumped back a little more and waited for the rest's attacks. I see... when Ceil said they were smart, he wasn't lying at all. When it fell, it released it's friends. Maybe Ceil placed them there, knowing that this would happen... who knows. Edited by ShadowBlade_ZX

((As long as there aren't too many Seth sized Fiends (who is perched on the wall anyway), there will be enough room for everyone smile.gif

Try not to destroy all the trees though please people.))

Rain shifted her head, gaze fixated on a tree not too far away. Her body was tense, and Diana stroked her neck with a gentle hand. Her Fiend shifted a little, and the teenager's hand twisted into her mane as a precaution. Hadn't her eyes caught a flash of something dashing behind there...? "Who goes there?" Hopefully, not another monster who Ceil had released. Shaking her head to clear the thoughts away, she noticed there were more Vespids released. The corners of her mouth curled up. "Rain. Water Torpedo." Snorting slightly, slowly water gathered at the tip of her horn, spinning slightly. "Go." It spun toward the creatures in a whirling mess. Bashing into threw, it barreled into three and knocked them to the ground - the force killing them. Exhausted by her effort, she leant on Rain's arched neck. Both were tired from the attack - it was a big one by their standards and level.

Wes froze up as Ceil mentioned that vespids would be released. "Ugh..." he squeaked. He hated those things. One had managed to sting his brother a few years ago and...well...Wes could only remember that his arm swelled up so much that it looked like it belonged to a giant. His eyes widened as some of them flew straight at Kaylee. Frozen by fear, he could not find the time to reach to his chest. He could only watch as they were taken care of. Wait, more were being released? He started to run in the opposite direction, he needed all the ground he could get between him and them. He pressed his hand to his chest and uttered "Tornado." Feeling air pressure gather on his body, Torn came out of the crystal. She opened the fans she held in each hand and took her fighting stance. She was dwarfed by the enormous Seth that stood atop the stone slab. She was barely taller than Wes! "Alright, Torn, blow 'em away!" without hesitation, Torn began to spin, whipping her arms as she did so. "Now!' Wes called. In one graceful motion, Torn raised her arms. A loud woosh was heard before the air waved in front of her, sending the vespids away from her. The attack dealt no damage, but it kept them away. Wes knew that he would not be able to keep this up for long, so he decided to change tactics. "Torn, gimme one of your fans." he said, walking over to her. Grabbing the fan, then folding it back up, he held it like a baseball bat and took a stance. "Alright now blow 'em over here." Torn gave him a curious look before doing what she was told. Whipping her fan, she blew one over to where Wes was ready. They seemed much bigger than Wes remembered, but he swung at it anyway. At the last second, the vespid managed to fly out of the way. "Uhh...strike one. Gimme another." Wes called, waving around the fan.

((Best. Tactic. Ever.))

Imari was on guard when Ceil let out the Vespids. She didn’t summon her fiend yet since the others got hold of them. Soon a little accident happened and more where released. She saw Gwen summoned her fiend and admired it with its slender body.

“Right my turn.” said Imari. She held her hand close to her chest and spoke her magic word Nova and soon in a misty static cloud formed and within it a blue dragon with rather large wings. It stood next to her making her look rather small. The size of Drahual was just a bit smaller than Gwen’s fiend, but his wings made him look a lot bigger.

“Drahual, static whip.”she spoke to him taking cove under his body. Soon his tail started to make sparks and with a fast flick of his tail a bolt of electricity shot and hit one of the Vespids falling to its death. Drahual continued to use the static whip aiming for the Vespids who tried to escape or who were sneaking up on the others.

A few more Vespid circled Seiryu and the Summoners he had coiled himself around. They lunged at his head in an attempt to draw him away, but apart from snapping at a couple of them he refused to budge, even when one stabbed him in the eye.

"Ow!"

Gwen quickly covered her right eye with her hands. It wasn't bleeding or badly hurt, but it was very sore.

"Someone get those things already!" she exclaimed. "Seiryu can't attack like he is otherwise he'll hit us too."

Torn blew another vespid toward Wes. Once again, he swung and missed, the vespid managing to dodge him. Wes moaned and Torn glared at him. "One more, okay?" She blew another vespid at him and Wes swung at it. He managed to graze it along the side of its head, causing it to fall to the ground. "Alright, finish it off then." Wes called out casually, throwing the fan back to Torn. Spreading her feathery wings, Torn hovered above the ground about 10 meters high and dive-bombed the vespid, slicing it with the razor sharp ends of the fans.

"Ow!" The noise caused Wes to whirl around. It was the girl that he had seen earlier, and she was holding her face. "Someone get those things already!" She yelled at everyone.

"Okay Torn, take them out!" Wes ordered, pointing at the vespids that circled around the giant dragon fiend. Torn immediately flew over to them and blew a gust of air at them, blowing them away. They would regather soon, though, so she would have to act fast. While they were still whirling around, she tried to dive-bomb them again, slashing at them with her sharpened fans.

Now free of the attacking Vespids Seiryu unwound his long body and went on the offensive. He snapped at the nearest Vespid and caught it in is mouth. Biting down hard he began to shew on the stuggling insect until juices began to flow out between his teeth.

Dropping the dead wind monster he aimed for another one as it flew past.

Gwen now looked really sick.

"Urgh. Those things taste foul."

When the frozen Vespid broke the branch and fell onto the numerous cages below, Selene let out a small gasp of horror. As the numerous swarms of Vespids escaped from the cages, she thought to herself, Perhaps it’s time I summoned her. Selene placed both her hands on her chest and said softly, “Aqua.” A puddle appeared on the ground directly in front of her and gradually widened. The water flowed upwards and took the shape of Serpentra. When Serpentra materialised completely, Selene sighed before looking around for the nearest Vespid. “Over there!” she said as Serpentra gracefully slithered over and slashed the Vespid into half. “Another one! Water whip!” Selene called out. This time, Serpentra casted a long line of water that grabbed hold of one of the Vespids, constricting it so tight that it was severed.

Selene saw many others who were fighting to regain control of the battlefield. She thought, Is this what a real battle is like? Then again, these are just Vespids… She quickly resumed her fight against the Vespids with the rest of the students. One moment, it seemed like they had the upper hand; on another moment, it would seem like the Vespids were overwhelming the students. Selene was torn between the decision to use or not to use Serpentra’s Maelstrom spell, a spell that takes out so much energy out of Selene that she would faint after commanding Serpentra to use it. After a few more Vespids had been taken down by Serpentra’s blades, she decided against it. When will this battle end? she asked herself quietly.

As Archer turned and saw Wes and another girl fight using their Fiends, he heard a small 'Ting.' That was the signal from his friend that it was ready to fight a little more. Archer placed a hand on his chest and said 'Pagos', causing Frost to reappear on his shoulder. Archer then ran up to Wes and the girl and let Frost fight forward using his claws. "Well, no one didn't tell you to eat them using your fiend!" Archer yelled back at the girl as he made Frost shoot out another set of ice neeedles. Edited by ShadowBlade_ZX

A Vespid made a break for the gate, but Seiryu was on to it. Rising high into the sky and flying over the battlefield the long azure dragon roared loudly. Several lighting bolts shot down out of the clear sky and one hit the fleeing Vespid dead on. The others hit random parts of the training area, sometimes hitting other Vespids but usually striking empty grass. A wayward bolt hit a tree and it caught fire.

"Ooops..."

Drahual kept shocking Vespids with his tall rarely missing one. With all the havoc things began to feel a bit clustered for Imari. As Vespids try to get to Drahual he just flicked them away with is wings and then shocked them to death. Imari soon noticed bolts of lightning coming down and wasn’t sure where they came from.

She looked at Gwen and saw that Seiryu was the one who started the little lightning storm. Suddenly a tree caught fire and Imari was a bit afraid it might get out of hand and not only burn the Vespids but them aswell.

She looked at Diana and remembered she is a water element summoner.

“Diana!” she called out. “Can you kill that fire before we all burn out? Drahual will cover you.” She said while telling Drahual to cover for her while she took out the fiery tree.

Archer looked at the fleeing Vespid and the dragon chasing it. He found it a little humorous-chasing your meal, until thunder bolts killed the Vespid. Another bolt though missed horribly and made a tree ablaze. "Great... hadn't they told us not to ruin the trees? Pfft." Archer said as he guided Frost to two Vespids. The hawk went right between the two of them and killed them with it's ice coated wings. The wings passed through them like a hot knife through butter. "Do these things have a weakness?!"

Gwen turned around to look at the boy who had just called out.

"Don't you know?" she asked in surprise. "As wind monsters they are weak against ice. That's your element."

Behind her Seiryu used another lightning strke to blast away a Vespid trying to sneak up on her. The smell of burning insect soon filled the air.

Archer looked back at the girl that had just answered to his question. "I know that, it's just that I can't use any stronger ability. Maybe a water user could help-Frost is tired and can't use Ice Blizzard." Archer said as he looked for that girl which had applied the water strangle. Meanwhile, Frost launched an ice shard at a Vespid and two more stabbed behind it.

"Darkness would be a better bet" replied Gwen with a slight shudder. "Maybe then we could at least slow the damn things down. Water would do not better than fire or lightning."

With most of the Fiends attacking multiple Vespids the numbers of monsters in the Training Area was starting to dwindle. Unfortunately, everyone was getting tired.

Archer looked with confusion at the girl. Why not ice and water? "Yes, Darkness would be good, but if a water fiend fires water over the creatures, I can use Frost to make those into ice shards and kill them! Just like a combination of elements." Archer said as he used Frost to kill two Vespids approaching the girl. "By the way, I'm Archer!" He said as he continued defending himself.

"Because" said Gwen ducking as Vespid zoomed past her head. "If you freeze water while it is being fired you could freeze up the Fiend too. And if you are going to freeze water, you might as well just attack the Vespid's directly."

With another blast of lightning Seiryu cleared the area immediately around Gwen. She took the time to look around and check were the Vespid were the most grouped. Suddenly she spotted Ceil, standing very calmly where he had first opened the cage. None of the Vespids seemed to be interested in attacking him.

Why are they avoiding him? she thought.
