Posted August 24, 2020 hubby is an Actual Republican (not to be confused with a trumpist),and he's actually voting for Biden this year. he voted for Gary Johnson (L) in 2016, and i think younger daughter still may not have forgiven him for that.... Share this post Link to post

Posted August 25, 2020 they are, purplehaze this week's RNC is the trump show. as i mentioned up-thread, my husband is an Actual Republican - not a trumpist republicon. hubby is for keeping the government out of people's personal lives, responsible spending, and a smaller government - but not what trump has done. socially, he's actually a bit liberal (and he knows it). i'm definitely a democrat, and younger daughter is leaning towards socialism. no clue about older daughter. God help us all. scary scary! and no, i'm not ready. i really really reeeeeally hope Biden wins. the trick is getting all those people who didn't vote in 2016 to vote this time round. granted, there's a pandemic happening, and trump is railing against mail-in ballots, but still. we need record-high voter turn-outs. and hopefully a lot of those votes will be for Biden. I put a request for a mail in ballot and yesterday I got an email from the supervisor of elections stating they got my request and sent a link so I could start tracking my ballot, it's my first time voting by mail in ballot, it's exciting to see the process here and know I don't have to brave the polls.
