Also, Silver, PM. /yay charrie discussion

Oh, mkay. ^^ /yay!

You guys... you're so silly. happy.gif What would I do without you? This RP would be only half as exciting.

All I want to know before they're done:

Light Alliance or Shadow Alliance?

Noe and Kai... can't really combine their names well. Koe? Koi? Nokai? Hmm. wink.gif

I have guides out for each element now, if anyone wants to see a specific one. I'm also writing a 'Guide to the Guides' so that people know how to use em.~

0w0 We make the RP exciting? *pokes Lach* Didja hear that?

Hehe... They're both so short. But if you used Kai's whole name.....

Goodie! Where might we find these guides?

Here's a rough :

Username: lachrymation

Name: Gear (Laiel Ashden)

Gender: Male

Age: 21

Appearance: Laiel has blond hair that reaches about up to the nape of his neck and gold eyes. He mostly wears clothes like that in the picture. He carries around a metal bow on his back and materializes his arrows, which are really thin and sturdy pieces of metal. He aims with great precision. You would always see him with eiter a scowl or a frown upon his face, his smiles are somewhat as rare as a blue moon.

Personality: Laiel is not all too pleasant. Being bleak and cynical, he is critical of everything around him. He keeps to himself a lot; when asked, he gives either evasive or deceitful information about himself to maintain his anonymity, which is the reason why he goes by the alias Gear. While he doesn't feel like he can trust anyone, he himself is quick to betray and forget. He mostly thinks about himself; his own safety is the first thing that he will aim for, which results in selfish acts and inconsideration of others. Ruthless and cold, he is used to manipulating and using other for his benefit by means of manipulation and deception.

History: Laiel grew up in an abusive foster home. His parents had abandoned him when he was 2. Frustrated and angry, he slowly grew distant and withdrew himself. Not trusting anyone, he decided to follow like his parents, which he thinks is the way to live successfully. He believes heavily in the survival of the fittest, and adapted the fact that they left him behind to get stronger, which causes him to do the same to others. Working as a hired assassin from 18 years, he earned a name for himself as the 'Black Gear'. He travels for his occupation.

Element: Metal

Uhhh I will do this later.

Other (optional): Laiel is pronounced like Lyle.

I will put the picturesdown later o3o ughh I hate typing on phones.

*claps hands together* Hehe, he's presh. Though, not like... you know... Presh like presh. But just presh.

*clears throat* Should I post Blaise, then?

Mmm.. Well... Mkay. ^^ Here's Blaise.

Username: Silver_Voices

Name: Blaise Sivett (Pronounced “Blaze”)(Legendary Figure please. ^^)

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Looks: Here Pitch black hair, darker than a night sky, reaches just above his shoulders. His right eye is as plain and dark as his hair, but holds a strange luminous quality. His left eye, hidden behind the broken mask, gives off a bright radiance and swirls with the colours of the stars, as if you were looking into the cosmos. The glow is from his mark, several stars beside his eye and a trail creeping over his eyebrow, where star dust seeps through. Without the mask to slightly help contain the dust, it would drift about him like a cloud of mist with rainbows infused with the droplets then fade. His clothing choices don’t vary much; he usually wears a long, black trench coat, pants, and a red loose shirt. Dark, worn gloves cover his hands up to his middle knuckles where frayed threads cut off. Heavy duty black boots are always on his feet, no matter where he is or his destination.

Personality: Blaise is quiet, calculative, and judgmental. When he opens his mouth, you're more likely to hear a sigh or the clicking of his teeth than an attempt to engage in conversation. Quite the aloof guy, he tends to take the role of observer unless he is specifically needed. In a situation like that, he does his work quickly and precisely, without many words but seemingly adverse to the task. Though his silence and occasional blunt comment throw most people off, he is insanely intellectual and adept in all areas of sciences, mathematics, and sarcasm. Remiss to do anything aside from criticize, he isn’t the best of company, but an invaluable member to any team lucky enough to have him.

History: Blaise’s family is held in high regard. Powerful space elementians have always been a product of their line. They do not accept other elements into their breeding, nor do they allow ‘plain folk’. (Something like purebreds in Harry Potter.) Blaise, while he might not seem it, was a trouble maker in his youth. This mischievous child often played pranks on his friends and family, inserting images, thoughts, and sounds into their minds. He got away with most of it, as he was so good at covering his tracks, but he hated being reprimanded. Limits caused him to reach out further towards anything he wasn’t allowed to have. Eventually his tutors and caretakers just stopped bothering to try to train and discipline him, which actually cured him. Bored out of his mind, he simply stopped once they didn’t provide any entertainment.

His older brother, Julian, was the perfect child of the family, but they loved each other and had fun as children did. Even though they had nine years difference in their ages, Julian always found the child in himself to play with his little brother. But once the truth got out, he was shunned by the rest of his family. Their mother had had an affair with a metal elementian, and he had gained his father’s powers. He was forced to run, retreat to the unknown areas of the world after one last farewell to his six year old brother. Blaise always hated him for leaving, even though he now knows that nothing could have been done to avoid it; remaining adamant in his despising. But no matter how much he hates him, he still loves him. He’ll never be able to get rid of his deep affection for his brother, who treated him like any other regular person instead of a ‘legendary’ one.

Once he was sent to school, he easily rushed through training and even surpassed the teachers in some areas. He worked the minimal amount, as his skills came naturally, and was eager to get out of the boring environment. He shoved away anything that caused annoyance. Fellow students were a large part of his irritation, as they knew of his brother. He caught them staring on more than one occasion, and they quickly diverted their gaze when he glared in their direction. People were pushed away and regarded with little consideration, as their emotions were hardly his concern. They were given a line and if they tried to cross it, they were met with an onslaught of spite and vicious words. He reasons that “it’s all true, so they might as well hear it.” While his people skills still needed work, his abilities as a legendary elementian were so far developed that he graduated at the age of fifteen.

He then set to find things that relived his boredom. Books ended up taking most of his time, as he dove into them and practically absorbed the information the pages held. Four years later, he is called upon to serve in the upcoming war. A sense of duty pushed its way through to the front, and he, though reluctantly, took up a position in the Guardians of Peace. From there to the present day, he’s been acting like a royal snob, when really, he just doesn’t care. He simply decided to sit back, relax, grab a book, and watch. Unless you say something offensive about his brother, you aren’t likely to get much out of him. But if you do, you’re going to get a lot out of him; mostly demeaning, yet likely true, observations spoken calmly, but spoken out of a burning, raging anger.

Element: Space [the final frontier….^^;]

1. Telekinesis

a] “Telekinesis can easily control huge objects for fifty meters and smaller objects for as far as the eye can see. Many objects can be controlled at once, and other elements that have a solid or liquid mass can be controlled to a degree.” Blaise has full control of his telekinesis, able to move things six or seven times his size (the mass of which is irrelevant) any distance as long as it is within a one hundred meter radius.

b] It is possible for him to shield his mind, allowing others to sense his presence but unable to search his thoughts. He has to focus on the shield, and it immediately drops if his thoughts wander, as they often do.

2. Telepathy

a] “The thoughts of others can be read and sorted to a degree; emotions and intents are very clear all the time.” He can communicate telepathically with a person or several people within a radius of ten miles or so, depending on the target and their adaptively in mind-speaking. Due to his bad habit of clicking his teeth together, the sound of the clicks echo through mind communications. This makes it easy to tell when he's listening in on your thoughts.

b] “Emotions of others can be altered, and coherent thoughts can be placed in or removed from their minds.” While he is able to use this specific skill, he is loath to do it unless he has no other option, since he holds the opinion that influencing another person is like ‘cheating’ in the game of life.

3. Mastery and/or Specialization

a] “Ability to make enormous supernovas large enough to wipe out a small village, but only at night.” Blaise can use his star dust to create a star and, in turn, a supernova and black hole. He is immune to the effects of all stellar activity, being inhabited by the dust of stars himself. He can also create a small star in his hand, and can be used as a dependable light source or some sort of grenade which explodes into a small planetary nova.

4. Legendary Ability - They say that Blaise harbors a star inside his body instead of a soul. That it's what gives him his incredible power.

He is able to see auras around people, but only from his left eye. From years of psychological experiments, tests, and research, he is able to interpret their character.

Hehehe what doe presh mean? Because if it means precious.. no.

And yes, Blaise is precious though. He and Gear will be an interesting pair of characters, yes..

Hehe... I have a... rather strange definition of precious. I had to kind of alter it, actually... for him. He has his own kind of presh.

Well, he's really cool... but... I do think he's slightly overpowered. happy.gif

Although he's got attitude, you also say he's brilliant and you made him basically immune to all other Space Elementians. There's virtually no way to hurt him if he doesn't want to be hurt, which makes him win any one-on-one with any already made character. I know he's legendary, but I think he has to have some weakness when it comes to battle. :3

Edit: But we'll see what LL says. He's a really neat character, and I can't wait to see his brother. :3

Yup! Metal Guide, comin' right up.

Beginner Metal Control

- Ability to move and slightly shape small bits of pure metal.

Apprentice Metal Control

- The ability to shape pure metal into many things, including—given time—weapons.

- The ability to fling metal in different directions with moderate accuracy, and pull metal towards oneself.

-Ability to sense nearby pure or impure metals.

-Ability to ‘feel’ things through metal—the closer the metal to the user, the more accurate the feeling.

Tertiary Metal Control

-Metal weighs virtually nothing to the user and can be carried around in large quantities.

-Ability to extract metal from earth given enough time.

-Ability to quickly shape metal into different shapes as necessary, and harden/soften it while touching it.

-Ability to condense/expand metal to make it weaker or stronger, thicker or thinner.

-Ability to fling, suspend, and carefully aim metal projectiles for up to 300 yards.

Journeyman Metal Control

- Ability to change the magnetic status of various metals; most easily done with iron and steel.

- Metal can easily be extracted from nearby earth and shaped/condensed/expanded effortlessly.

-Textures and temperatures can easily be felt through metal, allowing the user to use metal as an extra ‘limb’.

-Large amounts of metal can be easily controlled and manipulated.

Mastery and/or Specialization

- Ability to shift the molecules of a given metal in such a way that they can reflect beams of light, energy, and other such matter.

- Ability to consume and infuse metal into the body, using it to replace bones, cartilage, or even something like lungs.

-Ability to hear the “Laugh of the Ore”, a hard to explain phenomena that allows the listener to change the magnetic pull of metal for miles… literally pulling entire masses of metal from everywhere to the user and surrounding them in a mountain-size metal encasement. Allies, although pulled to the outside of the encasement, would not be pulled in and suffocated. Element-infused metals are not affected.

I also need to post this. If you're making a new charrie, please read the whole thing:

Summary: A GUIDE FOR GUIDES

How do these guides work? It's quite simple; according to the training your character has received, his/her age and his/her genetic composition [natural ability], you choose abilities.

For a regular character, you do NOT choose all abilities in every category. For example, some Metal Elementians can easily use magnetics but cannot for the LIFE of them extract unrefined metal from stone. That is OK. Even some characters with a Specialty, such as Jahanshah, cannot use some Tertiary moves; in Jahanshah's case, he cannot fling metal projectiles. At all, ever. His metal rain is all he can do at range; he is not an archer like our newest metal friend Gear. His genetics allow him to use short-ranged metal techniques. But even though he lacks a Tertiary skill, Jahan does have a specialization; he is able to shift the molecules in metal to reflect beams to a degree.

Jahan is a kid with lots of training. Even with all his training, he's still a kid; he does not have every specialty. He was born with certain genetics; he will never have every specialty. He will never hear the Laugh of the Ore. Elementians are born with the 'hearing' ability. Jahan will never be great at flinging metal. But he is good with close-combat metal. That is what his genetic disposition allows.

Legendary figures are different. Although they too should have weaknesses, they can also have more than one Specialty. But with great power comes great explosions; although powerful, many young Legendary figures are less able to control that power. This is not always the case; sometimes it's the opposite, where they're not specifically powerful in anything but can do everything and do it with precision. It all depends on our dear LL's allowances.

To make the Guides, I looked at the elementians already present. Look at the Space guide, and look at Luna; she has some abilities in Journeyman, but some only Tertiary. Some she doesn't have at all, although with training she may gain some. That is a balanced Elementian. The same goes for Loren, Aketsu, almost everyone. Just note that when making a character. wink.gif Again, Legendaries are different; they do get to be more powerful often. And in the end it does all depend on Lovey.

Remember, a character can be fun without being powerful. Take little Naomi for instance. She's about to get in to a real tango with the Shadow Alliance. *mischievousgrin* But by all means, try out a powerful charrie if you desire! <3

One last thing: the Guide is a Guide, not a rule book. If you can think of something that can be done with Metal, for example, that I do not have in a Guide, post it as your character's ability. It will most likely be accepted if it's realistic. wink.gif

I hope that helps everyone know how I intend the guides to be used. happy.gif

Thanks Nat~ <3

Hm.. time to finish up the element part of my sheet :3

Wait.. is there anything about materialization? Because now I'm not quite sure if that should be a really high level thing or just...

Edited by lachrymation

Link to post

Well for metal users, there has to be metal already present. Metal can't be made from thin air. wink.gif but as stated in Tertiary (or was it journeyman?), metal weighs virtually nothing to advanced users and can be carried in masses. For instance, Jahanshah constantly carries arounda large metal coffin on his back. Inside the coffin he has metal needles because he's not good at forming sharp things quickly. but if needed he could reform those needles into anything else. He carries a LOT of metal.

.....

Wouldn't that be more of the Space Elementians' division? I mean... Metal... materialization....

Link to post

Yeeeah.... materialization really doesn't fit any category. Space elementians can use telekinesis and work with the non-physical, but not materialize things. No one can make something out of nothing.

Oh okay, got it!

I guess I'll make him carry around scraps of metal that he makes into thin metal arrows then ;3

Ok, I'm not the expert/authority on the subject (but I am some authority on it).

Silver, Blaise is on par in power level with the arch nemesis of the entire plot. IE: he could go one on one with her and probably win.

Needless to say... that kinda breaks the plot.

Assertion: You probably didn't quite understand the guides LN made.

Also, a "Legendary" character, has to be kinda old. Since it takes roughly 5 or more years to move from one level to another (and those are years of intense training not just years spent alive).

So this is kind of a message to everyone who is creating characters. Specialization means "Specialization refers to the process of becoming specialized; specialty refers to a special pursuit, occupation, or product."

You can't "specialize" at many things, you specialize at 1 or maaaaybe 2 things.

Also, the idea with the powers and different levels is that your characters are good at certain aspects and not good at others. The guides aren't meant to be a list of things your character can either do "perfectly" or "not at all." Your characters will be in-between those two extremes in every ability they can use or they will be in the "not at all" category in abilities they cannot use.

Also the guides aren't an end all be all powers list, you can make powers up (that comply for the most part with the laws of physics and that LL approves), they're just suggestions and explanations of general things that each elemental type are capable of.

Let me use Kai as an example:

His ability to control earth element is limited almost entirely to sand as opposed to rock (which he has little ability with). Also he has almost no ability to manipulate sand that is wet. Furthermore the farther away from his body the sand is, the harder it is to control and the more energy and concentration it requires.

If you've seen Naruto, he's no Gaara of the Desert. (

)

With his lightning element he's had virtually no training at all. Therefore his only ability is to channel it through his body from natural sources, or produce a minor discharge on contact. And his ability to channel is based on his training with earth, not lightning (because earth elementalism is all about balance and flow).

Now if you throw him in with a storm elementarian like Noe who can give him unlimited lightning to work with, and then have him combine his elements into the lightning rod technique... well yes, he can obliterate quite a bit. But that's because it's a combination of smaller techniques and an entire other person working with him.

The idea of teamwork is incredibly important. There has to be a reason for each character to be a member of whatever team they are a part of. Teammates are meant to balance one another out, to make up for one another's weaknesses and feed one another's strengths. All-powerful characters are also no fun to play or to interact with since they have no depth of character to them.

This making sense to everyone?

jeez i missed four new pages and i guess that's what i get for going on a small hiatus from the site and this thread *sighs*

@ LN and Rak: welcome back biggrin.gif

@ L²: here's my updated character form for Sky -

Username: DP

Name: Skylar (Sky for short)

Gender: female

Age: 18

Looks (can be a picture or a description): Skylar but her eyes are light blue in color and her hair is white...she's also older than Haruhi; her mark is over her collarbone.

Personality: She can be kind when she first meets someone and will probably want to be friends with them afterward. She's sweet as well unless you get on her bad side and then she's not that very sweet anymore. Can also be a bit shy when she meets boys around her age like she was when she first met Marcus. Can get short-tempered at times when her shortness is brought up since she doesn't like to be reminded about it. Stubborn during times when someone tells her to do something like staying put with the caravan or building and ends up doing the opposite like following after said someone. She is also sometimes quiet most of the time and can go for days without talking.

History: Sky was born around 10 years ago after the war started and was on her own at the age of 13 after her parents died by a Light Elementian. Her parents were both ice elementalists and that was how she got her own ice powers. Anyway another couple on the bad side took her in and taught her the hand-to-hand combat skills she knows now along with a few martial arts skills. She was also taught to fight with daggers but she rarely uses them along with bows and arrows. After she turned 18, she was able to live on her own and that's when she met Marcus, falling in love with him shortly afterward. She now lives with him in a house that's in the mountains.

Power: ice manipulation

1. Ice Manipulation: The user can freeze anything within a few inches in front of them to a greater distance like a meter or so.

2. Ice Transportation: This allows the user to transport to different places by creating an arch (like how Frozone in the Incredibles gets around) with his/her power.

3. Ice Creation: The user can create items out of the ice such as weapons (swords, arrows, ninja stars, kunai, etc.) or solid objects to help him/her to defend themselves against other elementalists (shields or other barrier type objects).

4. Ice Armor: With this ability, the user is able to envelope herself/himself in an armor that can protect the whole body, including the head; basically it's like a normal suit of armor except it's made out of ice.

Crush: Marcus

Other (optional): loves Marcus alot.png. also knows hand-to-hand combat as well as martial arts.

Or he could just carry around a "really dense" block of metal or something (even though that would be rather heavy) because from what I can tell your arrows are light and thin but hard, so you could make dozens of arrows out of a metal block no larger than your arm (and it would comply with the laws of physics such as they are).
