Hello Santas!   While we are glad to see lots of people sending and receiving gifts, please keep the rules from the first post of this thread in mind.   Rules Each gifter is only required to send one gift to their giftee. if anyone needs a cb red dorsal or a cb wild shumoga for their giftee, please pm. they're from a friend who specifically wants these hatchies to go to a secret santa giftee, but mine doesn't happen to have those breeds on their wishlist.

While we are glad to see lots of people sending and receiving gifts, please keep the rules from the first post of this thread in mind.

 

Rules

  • Each gifter is only required to send one gift to their giftee. Anything more comes from the goodness of their hearts.
  • Off-topic chat, spam, abuse, and whining are not permitted in the thread.
  • You must have the messenger feature enabled. We need to be able to contact you.
  • Any gift/donation claimed in the Secret Santa thread during the gifting period should be given to your assigned giftee, unless it is explicitly stated that the donation could be kept.
  • Killing, experimenting, trading, abandoning, or re-gifting a gift is not allowed. Freezing is also forbidden, unless you specifically mention your intention to do so in your wishlist.
  • Giftees have 48 hours to respond to gifter PMs and to pick up gifts.  Gifters may wait longer if they choose but are not expected to hold gifts for more than 48 hours.
  • Please make a public group on your scroll, named "Secret Santa 2022." (When making a new group, just put a random dragon in as a placeholder until the group has been created, then please remove it immediately so the mods will be able to tell if you have received any gifts.) Whenever you receive a gift from your Santa, sort it into this group! (If you are unfamiliar with using groups on your scroll, please PM a mod, we can help!) Please do NOT put any dragons in your group except gifts that you have gotten from your gifter.   

 

 

Mods have the right to add more rules if they see fit at any time.     

 

In the case of not following the rules, you will be greylisted (warned) for one offense, and blacklisted (banned) for two offenses. Both lists will be kept private. If you disagree with a warning, you are welcome to send us a PM so we can work it out.

 

Firstly, please ADD all gifts you have received from your Santa to your group. Secondly, please REMOVE anything from that group that is not a gift from your Santa. Part of the reason for this is so we mods are able to see who has not received any gifts and will need a Replacement Santa once the gifting period is over. 

 

Unfortunately, there have been multiple gifts that have been lost this year, by one means or another. Here are some options for what you can do to keep track of and safeguard your gifts:

 

 


● Take your time and double-check all actions and trades before you commit to them while you have gifts on your scroll.
● Add your eggs/hatchlings to a private teleport to prevent any accidental abandons or trades. So long as you do not share the link, your eggs should be protected. Clicking the Actions link will take you to the teleport instead.
● Name your hatchlings - even if it is just a placeholder name. Named hatchlings are still able to be abandoned but you will be unable to trade them.
● Fog sick eggs. You can also fog your eggs before trading and you will be unable to trade them. (I acknowledge that one gift this year was accidentally abandoned when the owner was trying to fog it. See the first tip and take your time.)

 

 

All of that being said, accidents do happen. If you unintentionally break one of the Rules (such as abandoning or killing a gift) then let your Santa and the main Secret Santa account know immediately. The sooner we know, the sooner we can help. If you have lost a gift and it has not yet grown up then it may still be possible to retrieve it or trade for it back. Santas, the same advice applies if you think a gift has left your giftee's scroll or another rule has been broken.

Does anyone need a CB Shumoga egg for their giftee? I can't make the wild one, but I can send it over if someone needs the egg ^^  There is going to be an attempt to make it wild, stay tuned ^^

Edit: Friend says her vamps are off cooldown if anyone needs an egg bitten! All named vamps, but all of them were bitten.

I have a question for the folks who run this project... I've been considering donating an egg for one of your raffles (probably next year since it's rather late now), since I used to run a Discord Secret Santa for DC myself. However, a friend of mine has mentioned that for the past couple years, they've tried to offer to do a raffle but haven't received a response at all. I was wondering why that might be? We both love gifting, and it's frustrating to be ignored, so I'd rather not offer to donate if my offer will also just be ignored--I can just do my own thing instead. :)

Hello MoonShark. I am going to send you a PM with more info/questions in a moment. We certainly don't want people to feel ignored so I would like to figure out what is going on. The best way to get in touch with us mods is to PM the Secret Santa account.

 

You are more than welcome to gift/raffle an egg durring the gifting period. We will also be hosting a Big Finale after the main gifting event is done which you could donate to.

hello, santas!

 

thanks to the super generosity of a couple of people (a non-santa, who gave this to me out of the blue; and my own giftee, who is down with sending it to someone in greater need), i have a cb gold hatchling for someone's giftee. :D

 

we're looking for someone whose giftee meets the following criteria:

  • has a cb gold on their wishlist
  • has not received anything from their wish #1
  • does not have more than 3 cb golds on their scroll

if this sounds like your giftee, please send me a pm with the subject line "secret santa gold" and your recipient's name so i can check their santa group (i didn't see a rule against revealing your giftee's name in private but if that's not allowed, i'll figure out a different way to do this). (edit: got the go-ahead from the secret santa account that sharing your giftee's name in a private pm is okay, so the raffle can proceed this way. 😊)

 

i'll leave this open for 24 hours and use a randomizer to choose the recipient if more than one santa asks for it.

 

edit: raffle is over! rng has chosen a name and that santa has been contacted. :D
