"Yes, I am Arwena wood, I was sent with him..... " She blinked and tilted her head. "I take it you are the Prince who is engaged to his sister? Snow (actual name of cat I looked) told me that the ladies went out shopping. Come in, I'll get Jacus... I'm sure he'll be happy to see you, he told me quite a bit about his family." She waved him in. She headed for the stairs when a loud tip sounded and Drago, delighted to meet the kings's son and brother-in-law to be, tried to fit inside and got wedged at his shoulders. Arwena sighed heavily and shook her head. "You big furry rug of a wolf! I'll get you out soon enough." She headed up and got Jacus. "Jacus, I'll watch your dad, the Prince is here.."

Jacus got up with a jolt, "The Prince?!" He went downstairs quickly. Arwena could hear them hug and laugh as they say hello as good friends. Jacus explained the situation to the Prince. "Yeah... also apparently mom and Solessa have been gone fore an hour and a half... I'm worried..."

The Prince looked with concern, "That is odd... with Sir Tyrus sick and alone, this can't be good... I will go look for them and you stay here. I can't have my family to be in trouble like this." The Prince jumped on his white horse and rode into town with two other guards.

Arwena in the meantime checked the wound, added more paste that was left over, and re bandaged the wound. She pressed a damp cool cloth on his father's head and cheeks to cool him down, and said another spell with the kings foil to draw out some of the poison. After this one she collapsed dazed and breathing heavily folded up in the chair by his father. When she caught her breath, she got up and stumbled out of the room and down the stairs slipping on the last two steps and slid down them. She jumped up reassured Jacus she was fine and got Drago unstuck and when outside laying in the shade dozing a little in the shade for about twenty minutes.

((Thats terrible... sorry to hear.))

Snow curled up on Arwena's lap.

-after 20 minutes-

Jacus watched his father until he heard horse-hooves. We went to the door to see a guard.

"Yes?"

"Jacus! The Prince needs your help! The Crimson Guild has taken hostages in protest. Your mother and sister are among them!"

"What?!? Where are they!!"

Arwena woke at this. She snagged her bow and arrow. "I'll watch your father, take Drago, we can be separated up to twenty miles at the least. I'm a bit overprotective of him.... and there is nothing more intimidating then a dire wolf they can't control. Besides, I would be able to know that you and he are alright. ..." Drago stuck his head in the room. "Fight? I'll be glad to do that!" He barks from the doorway.

Jacus nodded, "If things get bad for us, I think dad is recovering enough that you could leave for half an hour... But hopefully we don't need to worry about that." He got his sword and mounted Drago. "Damn Crimsons... We will be back Arwena..." The guard got on his horse and lead them through the gate into the other district. "Please be ok..."

Drago looked like a war dog. His black lips pulled back reveling sharp fangs and his roaring snarl startled horses and men alike. "Your pack is my pack now! I will fight for them! These crimson people would fear you when we get done with them! Tell me where to go I'm faster then these slow horses!!Hang on! I'll track him!" His long legs already overtook the guard and launched him forward. When carts and people where in the way he vaulted over them or nimbly on rooftops then back on the cobblestone streets ears flat.

He stopped suddenly spinning sniffing, the Prince would smell like the king only slightly different, he caught the smell and took off again reaching the place where the hold up was. He stood paws spread three his head back and let out a blood curling eat splitting shriek of a howl, then glared at the men with a reverberating snarl that Jacus felt.

Jacus grabbed tightly onto Drago not expecting the sudden burst of aggression he dashed and vaulted. He covered his ears when Drago howled and tried to recompose himself when they got there. Men in Red clothes that looked like the Spanish Inquisition has people in cages. The town guard and Prince had them surrounded but the Crimsons were using the hostages as shields, holding up swords to them. A preacher in red and white was in the center of the Crimsons, "You see?!? Now they unleash monsters upon us! This war will turn us into beasts like that! Hold fast my brothers! We will have our way!"

Jacus growled and dismounted walking over to the Prince, "Sorry we couldn't hang our in better conditions..."

"I know... While we have your family to worry about, we need to rescue everyone."

"Any executed yet?"

"Thankfully not. They are waiting for their demands of a new government to be put in place."

"I see... What has the king said?"

"Father said that they are all legally allowed to be killed, but we cannot lose civilian life. My archers have killed two that strayed from area. This entire block is under their control."

"...We need to sneak around and take them out one at a time, that or convince them that if they kill the civilians, then we will kill them."

"All good tactics but..... I am considered, in the eyes of a K-9, a god. They will answer my call and cause chaos among the men. Then tell the princeling that his archers may shoot and.....Monster?!" He rounded on the priest snarling violently. "I have ripped the heads off of kings far greater then you! I am INTELLIGENT!!! How dare you disrespect me! Go French kiss an orc you half brained, dim witted, good for nothing wench!"

((Some grammer issue with "Then tell the princeling that his archers may shoot an Monster?!" Just poitning it out))

Jacus patted Drago's back, "Hold on boy... we need to be careful. He can't hear you... and I sorta wish I didn't hear some of that... Now... do you see any openings where you could sneak into that block they control? If you could get inside while we distract them with talk, then you could clear them out from the buildings near the city wall towards the main set up here..."

Drago looked at him ears flat. Then he surveyed the people in the area. "divide and conquer? I can do that. Am I free to kill the red coat ones? The ones with swords?" He was already inching closer to a ally. "I can get out people too. It might take me a couple tries but I can break off those cage doors."

((Pretty much they have a bloack of four buildings surrounded. The one side is against the city wall, the side opposite of that is where the preacher and most of the hostages are. Guild members are in the four buildings with around 2-3 hostages in each building.))

Jacus nodded, eyes focused on the cages, seeing his mother and sister, "Yes... you can kill the Crimson cloaks... or whatever shade of grey they look like to you..."

(I forget if Drago sees color or not unless it depends on Arwena's vision.)

((Since his bond with her was formed he can see colors. Fun fact, dogs see black and white, wolves see muted tones of browns, soft yellows and greens... with some blacks (with some gray, mostly black and white is at night when their night vision works.)))

Drago was gone after that. For something so big to go unnoticed was surprising. A white form crouched low on the far roof making no noises except for the slight clicking of his claws on the tiles and the roof creaking, can easily be mistaken for a few large birds. He spotted a balcony overlooking the group of people with two red coats on it. He landed on one, killing him with his weight alone and bit the others neck before either made any alarm and squeezed inside the room. He killed any inside, on the upper floor, let the hostages get on the balcony before knocking over a candle starting a small fire before smothering it quickly and fanning the heavy smoke down stairs to get them outside.

((Because of this bond it makes him human like, but sometimes his wolf nature pops up every once in a while.))

((Good to hear!))

When Crimsons run upstairs to check the commotion, they see Drago and the fire and retreat back downstairs to try to warn others in the area.

Drago already jumped across the square to the second house near the wall and killed the men inside, forcing them outside once more. The warning didn't come until he was at the third house and tried to jump on the roof, but failed and landed on the balcony, making it crack and a crimson slashed across his soft underside. He howled and thrashed, biting the man's leg and shook nearly ripping it off at the hip as he threw him on the square knocking down several men who gathered there like dominoes.

Men from three houses and a fourth, as some of the crimson coats came out with bows and arrows and crossbows, locking on the wolf who was forcing his way inside fighting a group of men upstairs.

It took him a half hour to get nearly all four houses clear, then became a target himself. The first arrow struck the door, and a few after that missed but one lucky one hit Drago's flank as he slipped inside and flopped on his side. The two little girls inside frightened at what was happining.

Horses hooves thundered down to Jacus.

The excessive commotion was enough as Jacus nodded to the Prince, who issued the order for the archers to fire. The preacher called for more men to finish off the prisoners but anyone who got close to the cages was shot immediately. The kings soldiers ran in and a small battle ensued which Jacus joined untill he heard the sound of hooves which he turned.

An arrow shot passed him and into a crimson several feet away who was trying to shoot Drago. Arwena on Kayden came charging in knocking several men aside as she was standing on the horses back and leaped on to a cage shooting anyone who came mere her and Drago who still hasn't joined the fray.

"Arwena! Drago hasn't come out yet, what's going on?" He clashed swords with another Crimson and killed him, "Nevermind, go get Drago and the hostages in the buildings! I'll help free the ones out here!"

With the handle of his sword, he broke a lock of the nearby cage and some soldiers escorted those prisoners out of the fray.

"Drago is hurt!" She shot another and jumped down whacking men who got close with her bow and ran into the building. She used her Phoenix tears, two drops healed the wound and another drop on the wound on his flank. She calmed the children and set them on Drago. He jumped down and out of the fray letting the soldiers take them off as Arwena went the other direction on Kayden, gathering the hostages and set them on Kayden, then on Drago when he returned getting them out. Soon all was left was the ones on the cages.

Drago huffed and fought over to the one with Jacus's family and bit by the lock. No one. Hurts. My. Pack!" He growls and yanked on each word when the cage busted open.

Arwena faced off with the priest and his guards, running out of arrows quickly and having to resort to a heavy human blade from a fallen crimson, but her reflexes where keeping her alive, the blade to heavy and she wasn't skilled enough to do anything more then defence, it didn't look like it would be long before she collapsed from exhaustion....

Kayden had a old man and the expecting mother on his back and was behind the lines now milling around the other hostages to be much help.

The city guard had the upper hand, better training, weapons and armor. The Prince made a high pitched whistle that caused all the soldiers in the front to back off. With the prisoners all safe and taken to the castle to be treated, another wave of soldiers came in with clubs and shields and began to beat and knock out the remaining Crimsons including the priest. The Prince walked over to the Preacher, "Leader of the Crimson Guild... you and your remaining men are under arrest... men, take this trash out of my sight..."

Jacus huffed as he saw he sister and mother taken to the castle. He would need to go to them later. "Arwena... are you okay?"

Arwena had a few small bruises and a cuts on her cheek and arms. She lay sprawled on the cobblestone street breathing heavily. She was looking accusingly at the sword she used. "And I thought shooting a bow was bad. Why do your blades have to be so darn heavy! I can't feel my arms." She groaned as she got up to her feet and sighed poking the blade with her toe. "I might have better chances lifting a anvil. Your father is fine." She stumbled forward a few steps swayed once, twice, then collapsed in a heap, Drago following not long after her with a huge sigh.
