Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) So, I'm something of a religious reader of the Trading forum, and... almost every time I see someone offering a vampire or neglected, the poor sods are caveborn. I don't understand why these are so coveted. I'd personally value a non-caveborn unbreedable higher than a caveborn unbreedable, because - being unbreedable - that's the only way these critter's will ever have family, i.e. more than a single tile in their lineage view. I'd like to make this thread for the few wonderful unbreedable lineages out there, as an ode to the people who think to make them. I sadly only have two lineaged unbreedables, but I love them both very much: Grin Grim - Undercover Janitor, 3G evengen vampire; my first vampire, also (to this day sadly uncredited) sire of all my other vampires. It has a fantastic lineage consisting of three species not its own that are mindbogglingly awesomely arranged. <3 Ks'szh Morchaint, 4G stairstep Tinselkin; my only Neglected, gifted to me, and made me doubly happy~ What are yours? (Late edit: Just because this first post is giving the wrong impression about my own lineaged unbreedables, I have a few more by now: Saccharine Venom, Crimson Resurrection, Her Paleness Aru'ak, Bitten Apple, Bad Chemistry, Poisoned Milk Cognatio and Venomous Blood... and a bunch more, really. @_@ Especially vampires. I hoard vampires with pretty lineages.) Edited October 31, 2014 by pinkgothic Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 Actually, I like CB unbreedables better, pretty lineage or no. With Vampires, there's already a 'bitten by' line, and if they have a lineage too, it makes the page look kind of messy in my opinion. /OCD Share this post Link to post

Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) This is my only lineaged unbreedable: http://dragcave.net/lineage/NvTeq o_o Ooh, wow, a Thuwed! How awesome is that?! Congratulations! Edit: I'm slow! I only read the name of that beautiful creature now and had to laugh. Definitely Not put together right. But still all kinds of awesome. Posted August 24, 2012 Of my 10 vampires, four are lineaged: Nofang Tivatuu Raiuhab Winter-son Ejlenna All are AP catches. I don't have any Neglecteds. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) I prefer CB Vampires/Neglecteds because it's easier to imagine vicious or morbid stories behind them if they don't have snuggly families listed on their page I do have a few lineaged vampires that were fun, though. This fellow who has a lovely code: http://dragcave.net/lineage/iGUN And this hatchling who has a sad story: http://dragcave.net/lineage/Fb8n Edited August 24, 2012 by angelicdragonpuppy Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 I was always wondering the same. Why are cb vamps more valuable than pretty-linaged ones? It;s so much easier to grab any caveblocker and turn it than to build a linage and then bite, taking the risk of killing or repulsing. My linaged http://dragcave.net/lineage/3CUqa http://dragcave.net/lineage/loJYj - holiday linage http://dragcave.net/lineage/r0URE - red x magi http://dragcave.net/lineage/FmBYu - tinsel http://dragcave.net/lineage/SJ57O Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 http://dragcave.net/lineage/mQk3 http://dragcave.net/lineage/SfGE my only lineaged unbreedables all of my vampires go female unless I influence them, even then the first one I linked went against influence and was a girl any way Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 This fellow who has a lovely code: http://dragcave.net/lineage/iGUN That lineage has so much awesome in it. A CB silver, a CB gold, and a bunch of bright pinks? Aw yeah~! I was always wondering the same. Why are cb vamps more valuable than pretty-linaged ones? It's so much easier to grab any caveblocker and turn it than to build a linage and then bite, taking the risk of killing or repulsing. Yeah, precisely; that's part of what makes me so perplexed. http://dragcave.net/lineage/FmBYu - tinsel All the jelly! All of it! ...seriously, that is so awesome. I love how that stair twists itself around! Slight lineage corruption really suits a vampy! http://dragcave.net/lineage/mQk3 Oh my gosh, the colours are so pretty on this one! Posted August 24, 2012 I only have one "lineaged" vampire. I was really fond of him and specifically killed his parents because I thought it would fit in with the whole undead thing. I'm probably the only one who finds the lineage decent though. I mean, it is only 2nd gen after all. Meet Coven. Not sure why I actually like CB unbreedables over lineaged ones. Might be because I don't feel their colours or sprite match existing dragons very well. Though, I suppose it would be nice to get a neglected from zombie parents. o3o I was going to try for a vampire/zombie/tombstone lineage last year but that got shelved after failing because I have a new idea for this Halloween. =p Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 I like CB unbreedables because they don't have pretty lineages I want to continue. http://dragcave.net/lineage/eZWg Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 I think this lineage looks pretty awesome, even if it's only 2nd gen. http://dragcave.net/lineage/rBupF I've also got this: http://dragcave.net/lineage/VLp8Y A couple of my other vampires have lineages too, but they're messy AP finds. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 I have this girl. I love her just as much as her two other CB counterparts, if anything possibly a hair more because when I made her, I did so without (active) help from anybody. Not gonna list my lineaged vamps only because there are so many of them on my scroll. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) I like lineaged vampires because sometimes it's possible to guess what they were before they were turned - I have an ex-balloon and an ex-mint, who were both described accordingly. Edit: Oh, and the ones I've bred and bitten myself are fun, because I can work them into ongoing storylines. Edited August 24, 2012 by Mathcat Share this post Link to post
Posted August 24, 2012 Meet Coven. ...that's brilliant. Have some jelly! I like CB unbreedables because they don't have pretty lineages I want to continue. http://dragcave.net/lineage/eZWg I love that lineage! I have a marrow further down it. <3 Also can't really continue that one, but it's so fine~ Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2012 Dragon pages tend to look 'neater' without the names of the mother, father, and lineage on it. I don't mind it much since I won't be breeding them and it adds a little flair =P Most of my vamps are CB though, since I tend to bite misclicks or purple ridgewings from the cave. This guy comes to mind when I think of my lineaged vamps, for how danity and pretty his lineage is. His family probably hates him and tries to forget he exists, but he doesn't notice and still shows up to family reunions. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2012 I only have two lineaged NDs: this guy and this girl. Like most, I prefer CBs. However I am planning to eventually ND some prettier lineaged dragons, including Thuweds, so watch this space. ^^; Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) Hmm I don't have any lineaged Vamps, but i have a few lineaged NDs: This one , this one [from a Tin] and that one [also from a Tin]. Ah and almost forgot.. this frozen Hatchling. The one with the Balloon parents was lots of work, as lots of their eggs failed to turn v.v . They really kept me busy, hehehe The rest of my NDs are CB. Posted August 25, 2012 The only ND success I've had is this girl, and she's a second-gen with nice colors. I may just try self-bred ND experiments with second-gen lineages that have colors that complement NDs well, it seems like it'd be a unique trading commodity. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2012 I usually prefer CBs, but this is one of my favourite vamps: Anhargga Thuwed His sire is a Dorkface, also a 4th gen stairstep. I found it neat. :3 Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2012 Some of these are so pretty! I don't have that many vampires, and no neglecteds at all, so this is my only lineaged unbreedable: Toshishita: http://dragcave.net/lineage/df3P Made her when the bite action for vampires first came out. I haven't really looked at her lineage in a long while, but now that I do, I do kind of like it. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2012 My only Neglected is messy and inbred. Same with my zombie. I like them that way! I can't breed them, so why not? I think it's a good use for those messy dragons you wouldn't breed anyway. As for my vampires, I've got some CBs and some nicely-lineaged ones, but I don't really care. In fact, when I picked up this one from the AP, it made me sad to see such a pretty lineage turned so I couldn't breed it. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2012 What a neat idea for a thread! Being the point-out-the-obvious kind of person, I think all vampires are the same value, CB or not, because they can't breed anyway so lineages are useless in my opinion. I have way too many lineaged vamps, but my favorite one is one I most recently traded for: Look at it's code, then look at its fathers code. I think it goes well together. Even though shes messy, I just HAD to have it! And here is my lonely ND, who is not happy. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 25, 2012 Look at it's code, then look at its fathers code. I think it goes well together. Even though shes messy, I just HAD to have it! Oh gosh Made me chuckle. The only lineaged unbreedable I have [so far] is this [male] beauty It was my 200th dragon, as well as a nice Tinsel-fail. I don't like the fact that I put "TinselF" at the end though >_> I might change it later... Share this post Link to post
Posted August 26, 2012 I have a few lineaged Vamps, but I personally prefer CB Vamps or NDs because I'd hate to upset the breeder of the dragon that I just made un-dead. I also find that it makes the "View" page look cleaner, but that's just my own opinion, lol. Share this post Link to post
