Broskii Region... a new region, a new adventure

Austin resisted the urge to stick his tongue out at the cruise ship as it pulled away from port. He was better than that, darn it! He was upset at his parents for tricking him, though he was happy he had most of his art supplies though, that would make this grim situation better. Plopping down on the viridian grass, he turned to the port where a gigantic white ship just was. Pulling out his sketchpad and pencil, he began to sketch the sight in front of him and think about his best course of action.

 

My main goal is Pring Town, Austin thought, drawing the churning waves. The cruise ship is stopping for fuel at the small port they have there, and it's pretty close. I think my parents are having a party tonight, so they'll stop the boat before they get there. If I make it before them, I can probably sneak back on board. Having a plan, he stood up, examining the sketch he had just drew. For only a 5 minute work, it was remarkably detailed and realistic, easily showing his artistic skill.

 

With directions from the Pokemart, Austin headed to the entrance of Route 1. Preparing to head to Pring Town, he looked at the tall grass and suddenly cursed. Dang! he thought. I'll need a pokemon to get through here safely. I could run through and hope for the best, but... I'd need to be really lucky. I guess I have to do what my parents wanted me to do... Hanging his head in defeat, Austin slowly trudged to the Pokemon Lab nearby.

 

"Uhm, is anyone here? I'd like a Pokemon," Austin called into the seemingly abandoned laboratory. Suddenly, a face appeared out of nowhere. "Oh, you're here for a Pokemon? I haven't seen you around," the man said, dusting herself off.

 

"I came on the cruise ship," Austin explained. The man nodded. "Well, I am Professor Pine. You're here for a starter, right? Over here," Professor Pine said, approaching an odd machine. Austin quickly obeyed her instructions, heading towards the machine.

 

"This computer chooses your partner Pokemon based on your personality," explained the Professor. "Just place your hand on the scanner and it will display 3 Pokemon for your choosing."

Alice was walking up the steep hill to the lab of Professor Pine. It was finally the day her mother would allow her to get her first Pokemon to start her journey with. She picked up her pace as excitement overwhelmed her and she blasted into the laboratory with much enthusiasm. The professor stood near a slot machine, a grin on his face as he turned to Alice.

 

"I'm here for my Pokemon, professor!" Alice said enthusiastically. She tried her best to be polite but couldn't force it out of her.

 

"This computer chooses your partner Pokemon based on your personality," Began the professor, "Just place your hand on the scanner and it will display three Pokemon for your choosing."

 

Alice nodded, i did as instructed, approaching the slot machine and placing a hand onto the scanner built into it, eyes fixed on the machine's slots, awaiting her results.

"Hey, Morty," the girl grinned," Would you mind if I tagged along? It is a little hard to hold a conversation with Pansear, here." She winked mischievously at the little fire monkey who waved a scolding finger at its trainer in return. Sereena sighed. Maybe I could find anothe pokemon or two myself... Pansear bounced down from his trainer's shoulder and begain to engage in acrobatics about the clearing.

woshiico0kie ~ As Morty turned around, he could see it. A wild Torchic(lvl 4) was scratching the ground in search for some worm pokemon to eat. The small chick hadn't noticed the boy and ws still focused on looking for its food, it was hungry.

 

stromzone ~ Purrloin did not feel a thing when the Spite was sued. What did it really do? In any case, it had no time to think of it as the ghost immediately appeared infront of it scary the crap out of it. Purrloin was pushed back by the impresion, hurting itself on the ground as it tripped... The cat looked back to the Ghastly, hoping it wouldn't follow it...

 

ziposaki ~ The screen whirled around black shapes of potential Pokemon. Like a casino slot machine, the three slots started to fill up with the dark sillouetts. BEEP! The first pokemon appeared and the computer spoke.

 

"Skarmory, the Armor Bird Pokémon. Skarmory's steel wings become tattered and bashed in from repeated battles. Once a year, the battered wings grow back completely, restoring the cutting edges to their pristine state. This Pokémon flies at close to 190 mph. It slashes foes with its wings that possess swordlike cutting edges."

 

The computer continued to spin through the slots. BEEP! The second Pokemon was chosen.

 

"Numel, the Numb Pokémon. Numel stores magma of almost 2,200 degrees F within its body. If it gets wet, the magma cools and hardens. In that event, the Pokémon's body grows heavy and its movements become sluggish."

 

Once again the computer spun its last slot. BEEP! The final Pokemon was chosen.

 

"Grimer, the Sludge Pokémon. Grimer emerged from the sludge that settled on a polluted seabed. This Pokémon loves anything filthy. It constantly leaks a horribly germ- infested fluid from all over its body."

"Slowpoke, the Dopey Pokémon. Slowpoke uses its tail to catch prey by dipping it in water at the side of a river. However, this Pokémon often forgets what it's doing and often spends entire days just loafing at water's edge."

 

The computer continued to spin through the slots. BEEP! The second Pokemon was chosen.

 

"Poochyena, the Bite Pokémon. Poochyena is an omnivore - it will eat anything. A distinguishing feature is how large its fangs are compared to its body. This Pokémon tries to intimidate its foes by making the hair on its tail bristle out."

 

Once again the computer spun its last slot. BEEP! The final Pokemon was chosen.

 

"Trapinch, the Ant Pit Pokémon. Trapinch is a patient hunter. It digs an inescapable pit in a desert and waits for its prey to come tumbling down. This Pokémon can go a whole week without access to any water."

 

 

LeopardDragon ~ Pansear's jolly moves caught the attention of a wild pokemon. A Nidoran F(lvl 6) appeared out of the tall grass, intrigued by the monkey's moves. It tried to mimic the moves only to fall to the ground, laughing...

The decision was easy for Austin. Grimer was a cool pokemon, but if it seeped into the ocean on the cruise... the result would be disastrous. Once Austin got on the ship, he wasn't planning on leaving the pokemon behind. That would be rude. Instead he'd just keep it, bringing it out occasionally but mainly leaving it in the Day-Care on-board. Numel was definitely out. Slow and dopey wasn't his style. Even if he was never to use the thing, he had some pride to maintain. That left Skarmory, his pick. It wasn't slow and dopey, and wouldn't endanger the sea. Besides, aerial views would be interesting to draw.

 

"I choose Skarmory," Austin said, in a clear and confident voice.

Alice jumped up in excitement, pointing to Poochyena in the middle slot, "That one! I want him, Professor!" She exclaimed as the Professor handed her five pokeballs, pokedex and a map.

 

"These are all important tools for your journey, use them well and be safe on your journey." Professor Pine explained, finally handing her a ball that was slightly heavier than the rest, "Here's your Poochyena, take good care of him."

 

Alice quickly snatched the items from Professor Pine and bowed as respectfully as she could manage then rushed from the lab and outside. She tossed the pokeball into the air, a beam of light touched down to the ground from the ball and Poochyena appeared, the ball dropping down to Alice's hands.

 

The dark-type Pokemon looked around, taking in his surroundings then spotted Alice. He slowly padded up to her, sniffing the air as he moved. As he approached, Alice bent down to his height, holding her hand out for him to sniff, "Hey there, I'm your new trainer." She smiled at the small pokemon.

Mirk uttered his happy greeting to Mareep on behalf of the group, Lotad casually tilting his hat-like leaf while Chopper watched in awe as their trainer slunk down from his perch with a fusion of half-hearted tiredness and rather brilliant elegance, landing on his feet firmly before he stretched, eyes remaining lidded. The male chuckled smoothly at Mia's joke against him. "I'll give you that one..." He paused for a moment in thought. "I apologise for my inability to keep to a planned time. While we travel, it may be more efficient for Mareep to give me a bit of a zap to wake me up at a more reasonable time. At the very least, it'd get me alert."

 

At the offer of food, all four of them stood to attention, and the growling of a stomach or two (or three... or four...) soon followed. The pokemon glanced accusingly to their trainer first. "Oh no you don't," Diomedes stated, crossing his arms, "there were plenty of growls in there, you ain't pinning this all on me." Chopper and Mirk gave broad, cheeky grins, while Ludo, more accepting of his own hunger and less inclined to mischief, teetered calmly towards Mia to observe the fire.

Despite Purrloins hopes, Echo immediately followed the Astonish with a Lick, its signature move. It didn't need its trainers orders, it knew what to do. "Good job Echo" Zaak shouted to his smart pokemon. "Try Hypnosis again, just because". Echo again used the sleep inducing attack.

Right after the Hypnosis waves, Zaak took out a pokeball. "I guess I just throw it" he thought. He chucked it after the Hypnosis, throwing it directly at the Purrloin. He watched as it soared towards the pokemon, and waited with hope.

Alice picked her Poochyena up, smiling and hugged him tightly, causing the poor Pokemon to make a faint squeak. She set him down on the ground and straightened, putting her hands on her hips and leaning forward, "No don't expect to get easy trainer, Poochyena, I'm planning to work you to the bone!" She smiled, "Only kidding." She turned, "Come along then!" And with that, Alice began down the hill towards her house, carrying pokeballs, the map, and pokedex in her pockets and hands. She had to pick up a few things before she could start her Pokemon journey.

The professor nodded, gathering some things. He handed a map and 6 Pokeballs to Austin, one heavier than the others. He also handed Austin a Pokedex. "You may leave," he said, returning to his work. Austin nodded, leaving the lab. Tossing the heaviest Pokeball with a simple underhanded throw, a Steel/Flying type materialized in front of him out of a red beam of light.

 

"I'm Austin, your new trainer," Austin said tersely. Leaving no room for a response from the bird, he jerked his head towards the route awaiting them. "Let's go." Quickly, the duo headed onto Route 1.

As she finally arrived at her home, Alice's mother burst from the door, tackling Alice in an enormous hug as Poochyena bounced up and down, barking at the strange woman. Letting go of her daughter, Alice's mother stood back and observed the energetic Dark-type Pokemon, "Quite the lively one, isn't he?"

 

Alice nodded, "Yeah, he's a strong one.... Where's my bag? I really want to get started on my journey!" Alice followed her mother inside and to the dining room table where a black and white messenger bag, a blue bandanna, and a camera, "What's the camera for?" Alice asked.

 

"You have to take picture of everything you see! No matter what, a tree, and Pokemon, or a house! Just take a picture of it!"

 

After a long sit down and talk with her mother, Alice finally said her goodbyes and set out on the road to the beginning or her journey, Poochyena by her side as she walked down the dirt path.

Lynn bent down to get down closer to the Pidgey. "What brings you here, little one?" she asked. She wasn't quite sure how the Pokemon would answer, but it was worth a shot... right? She hoped so, at least.

Morty replied with a smile, ”Sure, why not? After all, the more the merrier!” Morty pointed towards the Nidoran ♀ that Serena had just encounter before looking at his own encounter, a Torchic! He said to no one in particular, ”Wow! This is a rare find!”

 

It appeared that the Torchic was scratching the ground, looking for some worms to eat. Morty chuckled for a bit as he took out another Poffin from his Poffin Case. He tossed it towards the Torchic and expectantly looked towards it, hoping that it would be entranced by the Poffin he made. Cyto, can you take this? Cyto nodded and floated by, ready for any upcoming battle in the event that the Torchic decided to turn hostile. Meanwhile, Morty took out a few more Poffins and placed them in the palm of his hand as he squatted down, to get to the Torchic’s eye level. Perhaps it would trust him more that way.

With Poochyena by her side, Alice believed sh could already take down a trainer with more experience than her! She kept her head high as she moved through Route 1. On the other side of this route was Prin Town, a small town with not too much to attract tourists. But that was the start of her journey. And she couldn't wait.

 

Suddenly, Poochyena stopped short, ears twitching to the noises of the forest. However, Alice could hear one distinct noise that was the rustling of a bush nearby. Turning to it, Alice waited to see what would emerge. A Pokemon! I can't believe it! I'm finally going to catch a wild Pokemon! She thought to herself in excitement.

As each stomach growled, Mia set out a small portion of food for each pokemon. She quickly finished the rice cakes, and place two on a plate for herself, and two on a plate for Diomedes. Proud of how the food had come out, she let out a small mmmmm sound; she ate while she spoke.

 

"By my count, we can make it to Greenwood Forest in two days. Since there's two of us, I think it might take a little longer to travel, since the trip seems to take around one day for most." She shrugged, an extra day meant extra battles. "Of course, we could always walk a little faster, it's up to you." She grinned at Diomedes and simultaneously took a bite of her breakfast. "I reckon that two days is a good estimate, though. And!" She exclaimed, thinking back to her map. "There's a little healer's house that we can reach by the end of the day."

 

Her brown eyes quickly scanned over Diomedes' reaction, and she eagerly waited for his answer of his plans for the day.

 

((I don't mind if it takes one or two days, really. If there's something particular you'd like to do, just mention it and that'll work for me. :] Also, feel free to start moving us along in your next post, if you'd. Assume that Mia is following closely behind -I wouldn't consider that controling, or anything-. ))

stromzone ~ The now scared Purrloin glanced back to the ghost just to get Licked. It made a "yuk!" face not liking the idea of being licked like that. Inmmediately after, it could sense its eyes getting tired. The Shastly has used Hipnosis, and in its dislikeness of being Licked, Purrloin did not avoided the attack. Only seconds after the Hipnosis landed, Purrloin got asleep, its legs in the air, the cat got asleep on its back in a clumsy fashion. Then it was a pokeball. Not being able to evade, or at least see the pokeball, Purrloin got hit by the red and white sphere and got dragged inside of it in a red ray of light. The ball fell to the ground shaking, the Purrloin inside of it sleeping . It shook once... twice... a third time and finally.. a click! was heard. Purrloin was caught!

 

Pokemon Caught: Purrloin, level 4, Brave nature, increased Attack, decreased Speed

 

Alicia Jewel ~ "prr?" replied the Pidgey while moving its head to a side. It was not sure what the girl was asking, it was just accompanying her, it was interested in the human wondering around pokemon territory...

 

woshiico0kie ~ The Torchic saw the poffin thrown by its side. It sniffed it and not liking the smell tried to taste it. It was not good either. The chick kicked the poffin away from it and continued looking for more worms to eat. It could see the boy human offering more poffins too, but those where the same as the one it disliked si it only ignored the boy and continued looking for its food...

 

TheFallenAngel6236 ~ A wild Zigzagoon(lvl 3) came out of the bushes. The racoon was looking for some water to drink, but was still too far away from the nearest water source. The racoon pokemon had been running around the route, playing with its friends but now was too tired and thirsty to continue playing, it was more worried for finding some water to drink...

 

Me ~ After some more thought, an having already eaten, Kaiser returned his pokemon and began walking trhough the Route again, he wanted to continue to find a strong pokemon to maybe add to his team. After walking for some more minutes he came across a Lotad(lvl 6) but not really liking the pokemon he let it go and continued walking...

Jumping, Alice pointed at the Zigzagoon, "Poochyena! There's my new Pokemon!" She looked down at her precious Pokemon, "Bite! Bite! Bite!" Alice exclaimed, watching a puzzled look appear on Poochyena's face, "Really!? You don't know that? Well, what do you know?" She looked at the Zigzagoon, starting to make his escape.

 

Suddenly, Poochyena burst forward, slamming himself into the Zigzagoon, and watched it fly into a tree trunk. Smiling, Alice took a stance, "So you know tackle? Is that it?" She asked. Poochyena lifted his head a howled but Alice couldn't see anything happen, "What did that do, exactly...?"

 

The Zigzagoon slowly pushed himself up off the ground. Although he originally was looking for some water, he was now ready for a fight. Readying himself, Zigzagoon jumped forward, tackling Poochyena across the field. It was a fight of tackling since that's pretty much all the Pokemon knew at this early stage in their life.

 

"Tackle, Poochyena! Come on!" Alice shouted at her Pokemon. The heat of the battle excited the young girl. She watched as Poochyena gave one last tackle to the Zigzagoon. As the wild Pokemon fell to the ground, Alice dug through her bag for a Pokeball. Somehow, they had all slipped to the bottom! Frantically searching her bag, Zigzagoon was struggling to push himself up. Poochyena stood, growling at Zigzagoon but glancing at his trainer every once in awhile as if to say, Let's go, pick up the pace!

 

Finally, Alice managed to get her hand on the Pokeball, pulling it out, Alice threw the ball at the Zigzagoon. As the Pokemon disappeared with a red beam into the Pokeball, she watched the red and white capsule twitch back and forth. She could hardly stand the wait.

Zaak pumped his fist in the air, the pokemon had been caught! It was his first capture, too! He grabbed the ball, hesitated for a moment, and threw it out. The cat-pokemon appeared. Zaak took out his pokedex, remebering what the professor had told him about learning about pokemon. He scanned his new pokemon, who was still sound asleep, probably very worn out from the battle. He learned that it was not normal-type, but instead dark. "Cool echo, we got a friend for you, and its a dark type!" echo smiled.

 

As the pokemon woke up, she shook her head in disgust, but was happy when greeted nicely by the boy who she had formerly thought to be an enemy. She hesitated for a moment, but then hopped onto his outstretched arm, taking a place on his shoulder. "Haha, your really a great pokemon, you fought hard too! No hard feelings right?" Zaak asked. The pokemon smiled, and Zaak took that as a yes.

 

They headed on, down the path, until they found a strange house. Walking in, it seemed welcoming, Zaak saw a girl, helping out some other pokemon. "Hey there, Im Zaak he said. "This is Echo, and this is, uh, Scarlet" Zaak said, quickly thinking of a name. His new pokemon smiled in agreement.

((Lynn is on Route 1, but she's a bit further along than Alice. I suppose it kind of depends on whether or not you want them to meet up.))

 

Lynn just giggled at the Pidgey's adorable response. "Well, I'm just going to Pring Town," she said, looking in that direction. "I thought I heard something coming from there yesterday... I can't help but wonder what it was." She looked back at the Tiny Bird Pokemon. "I don't guess you can tell me what it was, either..." She stood back up and began walking toward the town, looking back to see if the Pidgey would follow her.

(Wait Stormzone! Are you on route 2? I thought zaak and Akira were going to travel together T.T)

 

Akira sighed and said "I see, it's a fight you want? Alright..." She sighed again, she was wanting to handle this nicely, yes she was planning on catching the Tepig, but by befriending first, not attacking. Akira pulled out a Pokeball and said "Swirl, come on out!" Soon, the little Poliwag pokemon, with a swirl on it's belly popped out. Akira smiled and said "In an act of niceness, you may move first Tepig." She then waited for it's attack.

Austin jogged on Route 1, though it wasn't the relaxed kind of jogging. It was the high-speed paced kinda jogging you do when you want to go fast but don't feel like exerting all the energy it takes to run. Skarmory was behind him, gliding on the slight breeze. Not paying attention to where he was running, he suddenly heard a rustle. Looking down, he cursed inwardly. He hadn't even realized he was standing in the tall grass. Not bothering to see what popped out, he continued running, hoping to get away from the thing. Unfortunately, his plan failed, and he was stopped in his tracks by the pokemon in the grass. Frustrated, he paused and waited for it to reveal itself so he could battle it. Running away had failed so far, after all.

Fallen Angel ~ The pokeball shook once... twice... a third time... and finally, a click! was heard. Zigzagoon had been caught!

 

Pokemon Caught: Zigzagoon, level 3, Calm nature, increased Sp. Defense, decreased Attack

 

((for being this your first battle I'll allow you the catch. Besides, it was a good post and Zigzagoon has a high Catch Rate. But remember don't doing this again without my permission))

 

stromzone ~ Maria was busy helping a hurt Bidoof. The small beaver had crashed to a rock while it was swimming in the river, but Maria was taking care of it now. As she worked on the beaver's leg, a cheerfull "tad! tad!" could be heard. Maria's assitant, a cheerfull Lotad was walking around the place, carrying the medicine and all the instruments the pokemon veterinarian(?) needed to help the many injured pokemon that arrived to her clinic. "thanks Lotad" the woman said as she grabbed a bandage from the pokemon's lillypad and used it to cover Bidoof's leg. When it was done, she smiled to the small semi watery pokemon "you're good to go now" the Bidoof nodded and after saying thanks in its strange language, it jumped back to the river and swam away.

 

When Bidoof left, Maria arised and cleaning the sweat from her forehead she sighed in relief, the Bidoof will live (). She was going to head back to her clinic when she heard a voice "Hey there, Im Zaak he said. "This is Echo, and this is, uh, Scarlet" Maria turned around to see who it was. She saw a young boy accompanied with a blue Ghastly and a Purrloin. Not knowing who he really was but trying to be as nice as always, she smiled "Hi Zaak, nice to meet you" she said. Her Lotad not wanting to get out of the conversation jumped to a side of Maria "tad! tad!" he said smiling...

 

((Maria is not a girl, she is a woman in her late 20's and, Purrloin is as big as a full grown cat... well maybe not at this level, but is a little to big to be on Zaak's shoulder))

 

Alicia Jewel ~ "prrr?" the Pidgey said. It had no idea what the girl was talking about, but still, it was interested in her doing. The bird flew to her and landed on her shoulder, it wanted to see what the girl's intentions where, and this was a perfect place to see the same she sees. "prrr! prrr!" it cawed in happynes, the bird was enjoying the trip.

 

akiraa ~ The Tepig got angry at these last words of the girl. "In an act of niceness, you may move first Tepig" How did she dared?! She not only hurt his precious tail, but also was showing pitty on him? No, this could not be ok. Tepig crouched back, stepping firmly on the ground and let out a loud Growl towards the Poliwag. After, not even letting the Tadpole time for a reaction, he pushed himself towards the Poliwag, running as fast as his stubby legs let him and Tackled the blue tadpole directly to a house's wall...

 

ziposaki ~ A fiesty Bidoof(lvl 2) began to laugh as it made the boy tripping. The tricky beaver began lughing so hard it did not noticed the big armored bird diving the air over it, nor that the boy had noticed its mischief...

 

stromzone and ziposaki ~ please erase those OOC oly posts, this is a IC Thread so I don't want any OOC only posts.

 

Me ~ A couple minutes after leaving the Lotad behind, Kaiser encountered another pokemon. A Poochyena(lvl 5) came across him. "hmm... this is nice" said Kaiser. And without letting the pokemon time to react he threw a pokeball in the air, letting out Bagon. "Bagon!" the tiny dragon yelled. "Bagon use Bite on that Poochyena!" said Kaiser. Bagon nodded and ran towards the black dog like pokemon, Biting it on its back...

Alice squealed in joy as she finally caught Zigzagoon. She couldn't believe it! Alice rushed over to the still Pokeball and picked it up, kissing it on the red paint. Stuffing ti into her bag, she ran to her Poochyena and knelt down beside him, "We did, Poochyena! We caught our first Pokemon together!" The small Pokemon jumped up and down, yipping in excitement. He didn't know exactly what happened but Alice's mood rubbed off on him.

 

As she stood up, Alice turned and began walking down the road towards Pring Town, "Just because we have another member of the team, doesn't mean you can slack off, though!" She continued her walk, ears alert for any more Pokemon.

 

As she walked down the road further, she could hear the sounds of more approaching Pokemon. She looked down at Poochyena, "Think you can handle a good fight?" She asked. In response, Poochyena barked as if he mirrored the girl's confidence. Alice sat down on the ground, waiting for a Pokemon to come her way. She figured that if she waited, a Pokemon would eventually stumble upon her.

 

((And RyuKaiser, I don't want to catch this Pokemon, just fight it for experience.))

(You do know Growl wouldn't affect Swirl much, it uses special attack, not attack. )

 

Swirl was about to jump out of the way when the Tepig crashed into her. She was slammed against a wall, but quickly shook it off. Akira quickly said "Alright Swirl, use Bubble!" The tepig was still close, and Swirl quickly let out a few bubbles. They collided with the Tepig, bursting once touched.

"Wow, so you heal wild pokemon?" Zaak asked the woman "Because Scarlet here was just caught, and shes pretty worn down". Scarlet showed this by dramatically yawning and putting her head down. "It seems like your pretty good with wild pokemon too, so could you give me any tips on finding rare ones?". Echo floated over to the Lotad and happily tried to start playing with it.
