I'm not sure I like the new format but then I'm not good with change at the best of times. However, I am very grateful that you're able to take the new egg codes! Thank you! Is the egg breed statistics chart still somewhere (how many of each breed is at the site)?

Hmm, rats. Try hitting the tab key, then Enter? That works for me.

I have the same problem with my iPhone. The problem is, I don't have an "Enter " button.

 

 

The page loads funny for me. It's all jumbled together. I'd take a screenshot if needed, but just picture taking the page and shaking it up, and that's what it looks like. I'm using what I like to call "Safari Lite."

This is just personal preference, but I find the fact that the page is now fixed in size somewhat problematic, because instead of having a vertical scrollbar at the side of my browser window if the page is too large to display without scrolling, I instead occasionally get a scrollbar within the frame holding the eggs. Particularly when one of the hatchlings has matured on that refresh and therefore has a larger sprite than usual. Similarly, I find the popup field somewhat unweildy and distracting- if I want to look at the stats, for example, and happen to slip and fail to hover my mouse at exactly the right place, it will pop up the main window instead of the stats page, so I have to move my mouse back off and try again. Also the way it's tucked away in the bottom of the screen always gives the feeling of the bottom of the page being cut off, which I find to be distracting and kind of obnoxious. (an alternative to this last point would be to have it "collapse" into a closed or miniaturized window instead of half of it disappearing off the screen)

 

To be honest at the moment I personally prefer the old layout, as it was easier to navigate with fewer distractions, and overall I personally find sidebars more aesthetically pleasing than information crammed into the middle of the page and large blank spaces on the sides.

What I disliked from the start at the old design was that you always need to scroll to see if something happened when you click an entry or the arrow beside it. That's why it is fixed at the bottom now. And I like it. It's much nicer if you like to clean up the page.

 

I used the css hover effect to avoid using javaScript. It works without it. Now that the fallback is done I can go over to prgramm some nice jQuery stuff (that's javaSript).

Like I said... I'm not done with everything. I'm a busy person. And since I'm new to jQuery It might take a while.

Still I wanted to release the Layout now because I think it is better suitted for adding 21 entries at a time.

I can make the Tabs wider/bigger if that helps to hit them properly.

 

And the width of the page has always been fixed to 960pixels.

There is no frame. There is a div tag that's made scrallable. Before the whole page scrolled, now only the content part needs to be scrolled.

 

The Lair works in all modern browsers (haven't tested chrome yet). I don't support IE6. And I don't have a smart phone (so I can't test for those).

Changed the layout in a way that it doesn't need hover things anymore.

 

It works for me in Firefox, Safari, Opera and IE 7 - 9.

I don't have any portable devices that could go online (apart from may laptop) so I can't test (and program) for those.

 

And now I'll try to get a magma from the cave and a nebula (still only have one of the alts ). And then I need to do 60k clicks at GPX+ ... Need TDB to be done.

Means I'm done with the lair for a while.

I don't see much difference except for the tabs under "Silvi's Lair" and adding the dragons goes across rather than up and down. I think it looks great!

Much better Silvi, thank you site works fine for me in chrome too! Only sometimes a hatchie seems to have some kind of colored background which is weird. like this

Ah... Still need to add this to the user guide or mark it somewhere... highlighted entries are critical entries. There is Yellow for less than 2 days to to red less than 2 hours.

Don't know if it's just me/my puter, but I entered my dragons just now and started to remove some hatchies from 'egg areas'.

 

I clicked on the removal mark by a baby Magma and checked at the bottom, where the last hatchie marked for removal (a Deep Sea) in another area was still showing not only as the 'thanks for removal' script but as a picture, which may now be normal, as I only checked because something didn't feel right somehow.

 

I returned several times and repeated the procedure, (this being the last hatchie needing to be marked on the page) including after the first time I came out and checked back here, in case this was something already experienced.

 

The Deep Sea hatchie was still in the window and, even after my hammering on the removal mark yet again, it seems evident that the Magma hatchie was not marked to be checked for removal.

 

So I thought perhaps I'd better mention in case there was some issue with hatchies not being relocated to their appropriate places.

I don't know. When I got to my PC this morning I noticed entries piling up for breed check. I haven't changed anything. But my breed check is throwing read errors now when trying to look at the DragonCave egg/hatchi pictures. Already pmed TJ, maybe he changed something otherwise I have no clue what I can do at the moment.

 

Only option seem to be a manual breed check. And there is a lot to check currently.

 

The Breed Stats are connected with the breed check. If I can't check which breed an egg or hatchi is I can't tell how many of a breed there are.

Here's exactly what I just PMed Silverdrak:

 

In less than five minutes I wrote a script that will repeatedly mark eggs as whatever breed I choose. I think I've marked at least 100 as mints already.

 

Having people doing it manually is opening the system up to inaccuracy and abuse

Which is certainly not very good for those topics that are "relying" on the stats. It's not like the motivation isn't there. Want to prove that golds are becoming extremely common? Mark a few non-golds as gold. Want to convince people that mints are rare? Submit every mint you see as some other breed.

 

And the automatic method being used was not only generating an extremely high number of requests to the DC server, but also bypassing the API.

And that's what I answered:

hey... I'm not stupid. An entry has to be checked by more than one person. And I'm also able to block IPs.

 

In fact none of the currently checked entries are updated to the actual table, which is used for the stats. I was still waiting to have enough double checked entries.

 

Like I said I'll remove the stats.
