Posted July 30, 2015 I can't honestly see why they would HAVE to be for Hallowe'en ? I think they are fab and a great addition to the REGULAR breeding pool. Yes! I agree they could have been great Halloween dragons, but I'm glad they won't have the holiday breeding restrictions. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 I'm lucky, they are at their brightest at around 1pm for me, so when there is no school I get to see them glow all day Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 My biggest disappointment with these guys is that, because I'm 5 hours ahead of EST, I am pretty much never going to see them at their shiniest. But they're awesome anyway, thanks Fi and Verridith! Get up earlier? 6 hours ahead of DC time, but for work I have to get up at 5.15 in the morning, so that's exactly the right time to see them shiny. Just have to get my phone and look at them Bet my dogs will watch me watch my dragons and wonder, what's so Special Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 http://dragcave.net/lineage/o5Jam Either this dragon likes jam or it likes to jam. I've got an idea as to what I should name it. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) Get up earlier? Pft, that's easier said than done. I'm having trouble to get up on time 1 hour before cave maintenance, which is 8am for me ... Edited July 30, 2015 by Ruby Eyes Share this post Link to post

Posted July 30, 2015 We thought you guys might enjoy some of the lore behind these guys. Have you ever been outside alone at night? It can be kind of spooky, especially if it's really dark out. If you should spot one of these guys you'd immediately feel safer. That's because the glow isn't just light. It's light mana based. They dispel dark mana in the area, warding off some of the threats of the nighttime. Spirit wards are nocturnal. They will roam the countryside at night, not just hunting for food but watching out for weary travelers who were caught out by the nighttime and are hurrying to get to a safe refuge. They don't usually act directly but will remain nearby, dispelling dangers with their glow. The intensity of their magic is under their control, and they'll ramp up the glow for greater threats or let it fade if there's not much out there to worry about. They're a good sized dragon and can look pretty tough, so most normal predators don't want to tangle with them. Because of their magic creatures who might be disposed to have nasty tempers will either avoid them or be soothed into a less aggressive attitude anyway, so not much threatens spirit ward dragons. Posted July 30, 2015 So as it been answered why the males lost there nose horn as a adult? Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 Sound like the ideal nighttime traveling companions! I love these guys and the coppers and shadow walkers, Fiona, you make such intelligent, gentle breeds and I want lots of all of 'em in my cave <3 Share this post Link to post

I didn't see them but once before I went to sleep, so I didn't know they get brighter as the night goes on? kewl! but yeah, 5am is not my favorite time of day, either! Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 At their brightest @ 3 am :0? What does that mean (Ugh, I leave for a couple of days and this happens, lol) Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 Love the use of that icy blue for the highlights. Awesome! Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 I rarely see the Nocturnes in their blue phase, looks like I'll miss out on this most of the time too. Bummer as their night view is pretty stupendous. Am also in the camp of wanting that toggle button to make their 'glow' view the one I always see. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 At their brightest @ 3 am :0? What does that mean (Ugh, I leave for a couple of days and this happens, lol) They change color depending on what time it is. Around 12:00 cave time when their glow is the brightest. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 happily living thing locked. got my final pair from the alpine and 4 others to gift tomorrow after i get off work. picked up a CB purple for my project too and it looks a lil bit out of place in the midst of so many dark eggs and hatchies. lol Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 I was lurking in the Alpine to look for metals and snagged a Cheese dragon instead, not what I was looking for, but wow I feel lucky. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 Oh my stars... All the stages are beautiful, but that brightest coloration is phenomenal. Absolutely my favorite coloring of any dragon we have! Such amazing work!!! I wish that they would change hourly throughout the day so I could see that coloration more often - but I'll take what I can get. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 My first 4 gendered 2 male and 2 female without influence. :3 Share this post Link to post

Yes, I am also happy that they are not Halloween dragons, with the breeding restrictions. That would have messed up a lot of plans for breeding them. Can't wait for mine to grow up. I am obviously not Fiona, but if they're mostly light magic oriented why would they choose to bond with an evil person to begin with? Share this post Link to post

Posted July 30, 2015 I am obviously not Fiona, but if they're mostly light magic oriented why would they choose to bond with an evil person to begin with? Pretty much this. I don't think you can force a creature to be a familiar since it's a symbiotic bond. They have to be willing. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 30, 2015 Maybe they were forced to bond? Maybe since their evil-repelling glow is controlled by them, what they repel is actually dependent on what they BELIEVE is evil. Following this line of thought, if they were raised among evil they would repel good because they were raised as villains. Kinda scary, if these guys could turn to the dark side.
