Posted July 19, 2010 What, no Robin Hobb or James Clemens yet ? They're my two favorite writers ^^. The Banned and the Banished series by Clemens is definitely worth reading, his current Godslayer series are in my opinion a bit less good, but still worth reading. Certainly worth reading as well is pretty much everything by Robin Hobb (Farseer Trilogy, Tawny Man Trilogy and Rain Wild Chronicles are for me the 3 best series she has written). Posted July 20, 2010 My reason is that the Inheritence books are horrible pieces of literature. It has horrible cliches, contradictions, impossibilities and absolutely terrible purple prose. Go here for more proof; you only have to read the first chapter's page to realize how horrible the book(s) are! Share this post Link to post

Posted July 20, 2010 I know Keys to the Kingdom was added, but Nix's other books were some of my favorites from when I was younger: The Seventh Tower Series and The Old Kingdom Trilogy (Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen) by Garth Nix Share this post Link to post
Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) I'd say; Wicked Lovely Series by Mellissa Marr Ingo Series by Helen Dunmore The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins Fire-Bringer by David Clement-Davies Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams Also- might I suggest breaking up the list into genres? Say animal, fantasy, sci-fi, etc? That way its not just a block of text, and easier to navigate. Edit: Oh, right, fantasy. I still think sub-headings would help; animals, urban-fantasy, high fantasy, etc. Edited July 20, 2010 by Completely Different Share this post Link to post

Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) Well, it has fantastic elements... While I suggest the Death Note series as a whole (written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata), if you're only taking books, I'll throw in this. Death Note: Another Note, the Los Angeles BB Murder Cases by Nisioisin. Edited July 21, 2010 by Dr. Paine Share this post Link to post
