Posted July 12, 2010 Well what do you want to do when you grow up?? If you are already "grown up" what are you doing? is this your dream job? or is it a job to make money till you can do your dream job? Well i'll start I am going to finish my highschool and getting my CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). Then I'm hoping to get into the advance training (i have to be invited to join so i'm hoping) to get my PN (Practical Nursing). After you gradute that they help you get into one of three things: College/uni, a job, OR military. I'm planning on going to college to become a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit... aka newborns needing to be in the hospital for those you who don't know) Nurse part time. Then I might decide to either go into Midwifing or just staying a NICU Nurse. So what do you want to do?? or are you doing it?? (sorry if this is a repeat topic went through 7 pages and didn't see anything) Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2010 Right now, I'm trying to be a music teacher. But my dad wants me to go into English. Or Law. :| Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2010 I'm working on becoming a pharmacist at the moment, taking my two years of college before going into an actual pharmacy school. Hoping I get in, the folks there are pretty strict about stuff. :\ I dunno what I'd do if I didn't, really... Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2010 Something to do with forensics, or some sort of spy that listens to other government's secrets on planes and stuff, or an archeoligist. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2010 My parents obviously want me to be a doctor or a lawyer for the money ;| but I'm really not good with either... I'm okay at reading (for lawyerism I suppose) and I get A's in Biology D: But... Yeah. I love little kids (I sound like pedo bear) and I kind of want to be an elementary school teacher. ;< I'm sure my parents wouldn't approve; but I really love to teach kids! D: So honestly? I have no idea what I'll do with my life! 8D Share this post Link to post

Posted July 12, 2010 Well, I'm planning on doing something with graphic arts or computer security. Maybe teach GA, even, but probably not. I think I'll volunteer at a no-kill shelter, too, maybe. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2010 I'm a biomedical scientist at a hospital/university. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2010 I always had the secret dream of becoming an artist. Either singing or painting. But I know I'm not going for any of those, as they're pretty much uncertain career paths and I don't feel I'm good enough to be able to make a living out of it. I was going to pursue being a vet, but then I almost fainted when I saw my kitty getting vaccinated. So I scratched that out, too. Then I decided I love foreign languages so much that I wanted to be an interpreter. However, to do that with our terrific educational system, I'd have to spend 2 years studying completely irrelevant subjects I hate and then continue studying on an island quite far away from home. And I'm simply not willing to make those sacrifices. So I'm doing none of those things I really want and I'm aiming at becoming an architect instead, which I like but not love. I have no clue what I'm going to do if that doesn't work out... Bottom line: I suck at deciding about my future. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2010 Well, I'm an adult, but I don't have a career yet. Frankly, I'm more and more convinced I would be perfectly happy to work in a cafe for the rest of my life, assuming I could actually live well off of that. For serious, though, I would love to do something with 2-D animation. I'm not entirely sure what that field looks like at the moment, but I think that would be an awesome career to have. Animation is a lot of fun for me, even if it can get a bit tedious. Just seeing all those frames come together is extremely rewarding. Share this post Link to post

Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) Oooh, something to do with entomology would be lovely. :3 I adore those little bugs. x3 Almost any other strand of biology would be cool; don't want to risk working with viruses and other ickies, though. o_o Practical work with animals, as in poking around their insides, is a huge no-no for me. o_o I have an incredibly weak stomach. Writer or editor would be bloody wicked, too. Edited January 24, 2011 by WonderBubbles Share this post Link to post
Posted July 12, 2010 When I grow up, I want to be a writer I'm 41 and still waiting to grow up and be a writer That's sort of a pipe dream really. What I'd do if I had the time and the money to do that. Instead I'm doing a job that I quite like; it's challenging, keeps my interest - it had better seeing as I am 3/4 through my PhD. Posted July 12, 2010 Well, long-term, I hope to be a bestselling author, or at least a writer who can afford to write full-time. In the meantime, I'm going to college in the fall, and I plan to earn my degree in English and Spanish, then work with editing, translation, publication, and/or advertisting until I can support myself on writing alone. ~Feathers Share this post Link to post
