Elbereth quickly dodged and said "Aren't I supposed to be saying that to you, Empire scum? We elves work to preserve nature, and you Empire scum come in to destroy it. You are the ones starting this war, we are just protecting ourselves." She then used magic to make a vine grow and entangle Henry's foot, before charging in, and rolling around behind him, to slash at his back.

Zailik had gone to assist Elbereth as he fought through some of the soliders. He did keep himself hidden, assisting the elf from afar for the first few boughts of the fight she had with Henry. Once she started using magic, he made himself known and covered the Henry's front side, so if he tried to escape it would be that much harder.

"I agree with the elf, you've cause more trouble than they have these past few months let alone the previous years." He commented as he readied a small spell to knock away one, if not both, of the blade the other soldier held. He doubted he would be that lucky to hit both, though if the shot was right, he could very well be able to.

 

Jayes helped Stoy as he covered the other man while he attacked a soldier. He slashed at a soldier who attempted to stab Stoy in the back with a fallen spear, running him through before pushing both away. Someone tried to steal the bow strapped around his back, though not only did the positioning make that impossible, it also made it very noticiable and caused the other man to die from a well placed burn on his chest from magic. Jayes' sword struck another soldier as two tried to doubleteam him and get to Stoy. One still fought back as the blades caught, sending a loud clang through the air as the impact jared both fighter's arms.

 

Draith was helping Akira as best she could. She had knocked down three of the horsemen as someone shot an arrow at her. It burned away before it could make contact, though a magical one replaced that space and was sent flying back at the original shooter. It didn't hit the target but did lodge itself into another man. She'd take either. At least the spell sent the original target screaming away as Akira's tail smacked down. He fell off almost right away, stammering something as Draith said a spell to end his life instantly. It was the least she could do right now.

Another arrow whirled past her head, off target and wild, as the shade rushed up to one of the horses. Jumping up, her sword cut through the rider as he tried to jump off and allowed her to be rid of one more horserider. The horse itself ran wild through the fighting, crashing into two other horsemen on its blind stampede and sending the whole group down to the ground. The two riders were pinned under kicking horses while the one Draith had sought out was knocked unconsious from the impact.

Henry cleverly cut the vine, jumped out from between them pointing both swords at them. "You two are disgusting varden and should be feasted upon by rats!" He said twirling the two blades with mass attacks at both of them.

 

Stoy successfully pulled a rider off his horse. Topeznite had hidden in a hole in a tree and ever so often he checked. He rode his horse spearing one man.

Akira caught one of the running horses in her mouth and ate it, going for a fear factor as well, still swinging her tail still as she ate it. Once done she spurt fire at some of the soldiers, making sure not to hit any of her allies, not even Draith.

 

Elbereth seemed to hiss before she quickly blocked and then used a spell to make a sink hole right where Henry's right leg was, a very deep one. He then went in and quickly went around the back of him again, this time going to literally chop off one of the mans arms. Soon enough both Mist and Night stopped chasing horses, and quickly came in to help Elbereth and Zalik with Henry, being sure to dodge his swords, coming in for bites and cuts whenever they could.

Henry found a good reason to be 6"9. It was easier to get out of the hole. Some men turned and charged forward attempting to spear them all.

 

Stoy speared more, maybe he would be a good dragon rider.

Akira noticed the men going for Elbereth and Zalik, and charged at them, grabbing some of them in her mouth, and shaking them, before tossing them away. The rest she blew fire on, or tried to stomp on. Elbereth simply kept up her attack. Dodging what and when she had to.

Henry aimed a stab at the gut of the elf when the hound leaped up on Stoy. He grabbed it and attempted to twist it's head.

Jayes helped Stoy with the hound, slicing at it's side to hopefully get it off him. He was still fighting off a few men trying to stab their way to them both. "You people don't give up on lost causes do you!?" He yelled as one of the men sliced his arm. It looked a lot deeper than it actually was, though that didn't make it any less painful.

 

Draith had followed Akira, slicing through anyone in her chosen path. She was fighting her way right up to Henry, though not as violently as might have been expected. Much of it consisted of dodging an attack here or deflecting another while leaving the attacker stunned.

 

Zailik aimed his attack for Henry's stab as the magic had missed and found another target to knock a spear from. He was trying to deflect the blow to Elbereth when he noticed Draith practically behind Henry. She had pretty much come out of nowhere from the mass of fighting, which he had learned to expect. She had gotten hurt through all of it, though the cuts and scrapes paid no bother to her as usual.

 

"Call them off Henry. You're going to loose this fight just like last time." The shade's tone was one rather calm, though awfully serious for what the magician had expected. Then again, Zailik hadn't expected her to hold back from attacking the man like she was. He saw that she was very ready for any attack that would come her way, having debilitated two spearmen already with just a few quick words. What worried him more though was that the runes on her sword glowed faintly. The last time they did that didn't bode well for anyone in the vicinity.

Henry froze. Three people fighting him. He whistled. The horse he had hidden galloped over as Henry expertly got on as he took off towards the hills, the remainder of the men followed. But they started firing fire arrows trying to burn them in the landscape, as they watched a nice forest fire they rode off.

 

Stoy gathered Topeznite out of a burning tree. "We must leave!'.

((Wow I missed a lot! I apologize for my absence. There has been some issues in real life but those have been resolved.)) Astraea was surprised to see these men attack so bravely. Didn't they know who they were facing? She wasn't sure what to do exactly so she just tried to stay away from the enemy. The hatchling was doing a pretty good job avoiding the darts as only one hit one of her scales.

 

But then a solider came charging at her. Everyone else was busy fighting or at least trying to stay alive and there was no place to hide. The soldier pulled out a sword and took a swing at her. She was small so Astraea dodged the attack and dashed throught the man's legs. Once on the other side she leaped onto his back and used her teeth to bite his exposed neck and to breath smoke in his eyes.

 

The soldier now couldn't see very well and the hatchling made her escape. But as she was gliding off the back end of the soldier's spear whacked her in mid air causing her to crash to the ground. It was painful but Astraea ran as fast as she could away from that man.

 

She then noticed that a tree was on fire. The hatchling couldn't find Elbereth either and that made her nervous, but she still felt her presence. She showed her a series of pictures in her mind. One was where she was at, the second was an image of her looking around, and the third was of Elbereth. ((Basically she's wondering where her rider is.))

Elbereth easily twisted away from the jab, deflecting it with the help of Zalik. She then hissed as Henry fled and caught the forest on fire, then yelled "Coward!" She then got the pictures of Astraea and quickly found her, grabbing the hatchling up and saying "So sorry you had to go through that." She then ran back over to the group. Looking at the fire, she sighed and quickly started chanting in the ancient language. She had dealt with forest fires before, not to hard to stop, and it wasn't to bad yet. Soon enough clouds gathered over the trees and started pouring rain on the worst of it. The minor things, the fire was just pulled off of, into the air, before dying away. Once it was put out, Elbereth looked exhausted. Night and Mist were now by her side, helping to make sure she didn't pass out, and soon enough Holly flew in by Elbereth's head, and Midnight galloped to her side. Elbereth smiled at them and said "I'm fine." Before setting Astraea up on Midnight, and then getting up on the horse herself. Once up, she moved Astraea to her lap. She then said "We should still move on. They may regroup and try to return." Akira had roared at the fleeing group, knocking down the few stragglers and the slower ones, killing them with a claw. The fire she was about to try to help out with, when Elbereth took care of it. Looking at the Elf and seeing how tired she was, Akira quickly fed some of her energy to her to help her out. Not a lot to be missed, but enough to give Elbereth more strength. Elbereth nodded at Akira for thanks once it was done.

 

(We'll just say that Will has been on Akira's back this whole time, and Akira has been protecting him. Where the hell did DS disappear to anyways? I hope she's OK..)

Henry stopped in the middle of nowhere. "Men form a group. Cover yourselves with leaves and mask your scents. And get out some crossbows. Well ambush them." they did as told. They also hid the horses and lay still in the grass slowly crawling into an ambushing position.

(Wow... Henry is incredibly persistant... but stupid.... Someone doesn't keep coming back for more with the same, diminished, troops. I'd say he'd only have 20 men tops now, depending on how many he had in the first place.)

(He thinks that he can win without losing anymore that there hidden... so yeah your right )

((I tried contacting her Akiraa.... No responses at all. And my typing is going to be slower due to my computer being dead and iPods not really be efficient for fast typing on long posts))

 

"Typical for them though. they'll run as soon as the going gets bad." Draith commented as Elbereth commented on the cowards. she too was helping out with the fires where she could, taking out some of the larger ones so the elf wouldn't have to deal with them.

"They'll be back whether or not we move off." Zailik said with a bit of venom. He was getting tired of being chased all over. For now he sheathed his sword, walking off toward the horses.

"Coming back or not, we can at least get the upperhand if we do move." Jayes watched Zailik walk off. He turned his attention back to Elbereth, Akira, Draith and Stoy as well as the two hatchlings.

The hatchling was set on Elberth's lap. She noticed that the tree was no longer on fire thanks to the beings putting it out. It was a very cool sight for the little one. As for deciding on whether to move or not move Astraea really didn't have a preference. She did however notice a some how familiar stag next to the ashes. It looked at her and then moved back into the forest.

Zailik had come back with the horses, giving them out to those they belonged to. He left his own horse with Draith as he passed the others on to their owners. Once that was over with, the soldier mounted his own horse and turned it around after it started to try and walk away. The stubborn streak still hadn't dissipated in this one. "So we going after him or not?" He asked as Jayes mounted his own horse.

"I'm all for following them. Right now they're scared and weak... what better time to deal with them than now?"

"Anytime they wish." The shade's curt response confused the magician. He assumed there was some sadistic chime to it, though he dared not to ask what she literally meant by that. "They'll be back either way, as you said Jayes, and chasing them down now will save us both the hassle of waiting for that time. Plus, it makes for a good chance for a surprise attack to cut them down before the ***s cause even more trouble."

Zailik hadn't expected that much of a response from Draith after she got on her own horse. She hadn't spoken much for the whole of a many days, especially so heated about one minor thing.

Will had been zoned out for a long time and before the fighting happened he just kind of passed out... Probibly from not getting enough sleep as of late. He even staid passed out during the fighting and flipping Akira was doing, hinting that some magic was behind it, not just sleep.

As the group wandered about trying to decide on what to do he suddenly started back into consciousness yelled. "I'll take you all on" and promptly tumbled from Akira's back, or he would had if his legs hadn't been strapped into the dragon saddle. He hung there in confusion then tried to reach up to the saddle to pull himself back up, but he was failing.

Akira nearly jumped when Will snapped back to life, before reaching back with her head to try and help Will back up. She also said "Are you alright Will? You just sorta.. passed out. Are you okay?" Elbereth just looked up from what she was doing, before sighing and saying "Astarae, wanna come see if we can help Will?"

Will blinked up at her from his less then flattering position and smiled. "Just grand" he replied but something was off about him... Something, different. "Um... Where are we?" He asked, looking around with an upside down view, a kind of odd innocence in his dark eyes.

[Dragonhatchling]

Will's waking up stopped the progress of possibly moving, yet no one got off their horses as of yet.

 

"We're not in any place super special." Jayes answered Will's question as he walked his horse over to Akira a little more so the rider could hear him comfortably.

Zailik's horse stirred restlessly for a moment before he calmed it down. "You hungry at all Will? We've got some extra food if you want."

 

Draith was perhaps the less welcoming of the three. She was still bent on finding where Henry actually ran off to. She was beginning to wonder if he was bothering them for more of a reason than just to bother. Her last want was for him to go to Galbatorix. Even though he likely already knew their whereabouts and plans, it wasn't good for his suspicions to be given credit and therefore given a reason to do something about it.
