@purplehaze - on the PA dept of health website, we have a tall, but short "loading bar," if you will, that has the phases along the bottom.  it's only filled in for phase 1A.  and i'm in phase 2. lol.

my upper arm doesn't hurt as much as it did yesterday, so that's a good thing. :)

i might stalk for more gemshards.  i can't breed mine until next week.  i'm still looking for more red and green ones XD

Here is Maryland's site: https://covidlink.maryland.gov/content/vaccine/

Of course no time frame for when each phase will come -- too many unknowns.

I am in phase 1C.There doesn't seem to be any bumping to a higher level due to co-morbidities until you get down to Phase 2, so I guess hubby is 1C also.

Glad to hear that your arm is less sore today.

exactly this.  i half-jokingly think it'll be like May. there might be more truth to that than joking, actually.

My daughter-in-law is actually in Phase 1A as a healthcare worker, but last I heard she had not decided whether or not to get the vaccine. She has severe allergies and asthma and the reported allergic reactions concern her, in addition to the fact that nothing is known of possible long-term side effects due to the relatively short testing period. I don't think the process has gotten to the clinic where she works, yet, anyway.

ooh, lots of good points, purple.

i think my aunt has gotten her vaccine, but that's because of the type of facility/old people community she lives in.  my mom might be due to get hers in our next phase, i think.  maybe by the time you're able to get yours, we may know more about the vaccine side-effects too.

my Dr doesn't think i'll be able to get the vaccine at their office, because the certainly don't have the super-cold storage for the Pfizer vaccine.  i thought the Moderna one could go in a regular medicine refrigerator, but who knows?  we have two hospitals, a number (4?) of urgent cares, and several Walgreens and CVSs that all can give vaccines (hopefully!!)  by the time i'm able to get mine.  even hubby - who hates drs and needles - will be getting a vaccine.  this is not to be trifled with.

in other news, i haven't seen any gemshards in the jungle today, but i've only popped in every so often, and only like once or twice just before the :x5 or :x0 mark. *refreshes again*

edit - if i buy one from the market, and it's the wrong color, i'm stuck with it, aren't i? or can i trade market hatchies?

My sister works in a nursing home. She got Covid around the same time Trump did. She has a history of allergic swelling. She said the shot is mandatory at her job, but when they will get the vaccine is still up in the air.

I was about 90 minutes, in fact, back and forth hauling donations out of my office finally (all had been there since before Christmas), and then sat and ate lunch at my desk when the pizza arrived. I plan to do the same tomorrow as I only managed to move a little over half the stuff from my office. At least now I can open my printer and print things. I could not do that this morning. We had another successful shop day!

Good morning, CPA! B)

*sets out coffee, teas, juices, apples, brownies, and croissants with butter and jam*

One of the (feral) kittens has decided I'm a good thing to snuggle up to. I think he's missing his mama.

I have one of those, too. And about the same color. Her stripes are big and bold. She's smaller and younger looking than she actually is, slowly growing. When she is anxious to eat, she starts to spin around. Her mama is small, too. And even though she's stayed around, when she decided it was time to wean the kitten, she didn't relent. Hisses and slaps every time her baby got near.

Huh, I missed this Three rare aquatic creatures known as baby dragons are going on display in an aquarium at Slovenia’s Postojna Cave, one of the country’s biggest tourist attractions.

Olms can survive up to 8 years without food and have a lifespan of up to 100 years.

What a pretty kitty!

Apparently by the end of the month Maryland will be opening Covid vaccinations to everyone 65+. Not sure where they will be given, but I think some of the pharmacy chains will offer them. I hope they will be able to get enough of the vaccine to meet the demand. And hopefully appointments will be required. Otherwise there may be a lot of waiting in line.

It is my understanding that even if you have had the vaccine you will need to continue to wear a mask. It is apparently still possible to get the infection and just be asymptomatic, but still able to shed the virus and infect others. :o

i've seen this too.

so i was off from work today - slept in until like 11:10 a.m.! :)

fiddled about a bit, eventually went to the pet stores for random cat things (litter, filters for their water fountains, food for Miss Picky, err, Luna.  we're still trying to figure out what canned food she'll eat)

Ash is quite a bit of ninja who only wants to go outside.... he was right at the door by the time hubby unlocked it to toss the goodie bag (from the litter boxes), but he didn't get far.  we do have a harness that he has to get used to wearing first, and then he can go outside XD

His much shyer brother looks just like him. :)

And... :o really? That's scary.

I finally have an office space again. I have spent about five hours over the last two days hauling donations out of my office and over to the shop, stuff that had been in my space since well before Christmas. (Found a Lego set in there! Not sure if it's complete.)

I used Tractor Supply pelletized horse bedding (compressed pine sawdust) at $6/40 lbs. for cheap cat litter. If you moisten it a bit, it crumbles which is what I did at first with the kitten. And add diatomaceous earth if any bugs start sneaking in during warm weather.

And a spray bottle of water combined with vigiliance should discourage the lurking near the door.

i use so phresh cat litter from Petco - once you buy the original 16 ($7.99) or 32 pound container, you can bring the container in for refills that cost a little less ($5.99) and help the environment.  i've been using first two containers for litter since fall of 2019, and early last year i added two more containers - and with 7 cats, we need it! :)

and if Ash wants to go outside, he needs to learn to use the harness first XD

Good morning, CPA! B)

*sets out coffee, teas, juices, apples, brownies, and bacon and eggs*

It's pouring! And so dark out from the rain clouds that the sensor light outside came back on after it went off for the morning. If this keeps up, I won't be able to open today as our yard floods so badly (and Bahamians don't go out in the rain if they don't absolutely have to).

Good morning!

*takes an apple and a brownie -- that's a balanced breakfast, right?*

It rained here most of the day yesterday, but is sunny this morning. Yay!

I was awake before 5 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. I think my anxiety level over this unrest in the country is getting to me. :(

One in each hand? Definitely balanced!

*hugs* Stay safe. I hope all ends up well.

Our rain stopped around 9 a.m. and I wouldn't put any stuff outside so sure was I that it was coming back, so of course it never did.

And that problem customer showed up just after 2 ( we close at 2 on Saturdays), so one of my volunteers physically escorted her out the gate. The volunteer was far more polite than I was likely to have been so I was grateful she was there.

Yay for not blue! In dragon context! ;)

The food truck's playing music again. It's going to be another night where I am glad of the 10 p.m. curfew.
