Posted January 13, 2021 oh yikes, purple, that's awful! if the worst i feel is getting repeatedly punched in my arm, i made out well then. give your friend a socially distanced or virtual hug from me. ah, welcome to Weather Weirdings in January! Share this post Link to post
Posted January 13, 2021 We had unanticipated rain today. Almost all our pillows for sale are now wet. That's not good about the vaccine reactions. The coworker who went to the U.S. over Christmas (just had to attend that wedding, didn't she?) now has Covid. Thank goodness, she never came into the shelter between returning to the island and finding that out. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 13, 2021 Sorry about your coworker with Covid. Glad she didn't expose the rest of your crew. I can kind of sympathize with her feeling she needed to go to the wedding -- depending on how close she was to the bride and/or groom. That is one of the hardest things about this pandemic -- the milestones and special events we are missing. Hard sometimes to know how to weigh the risk. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 13, 2021 True. It is a tough decision. I'm a homebody at the best of times so I have little trouble staying put now when need be. Share this post Link to post

Posted January 14, 2021 I have my main job, my house sitting that has almost completely stopped as no one is travelling, my aunt for Sunday breakfast (which stopped in March 2020 and will never recommence now she's in a nursing home), and a friend's for morning coffee (which seldom happens these days as her 93-year-old mother needs a lot of care so she's more often there than at her own home)... and shopping as needed. Oh, and the occasional Monday lunch with another friend. Hmm. Not much of a social life, really, outside work. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 i'd also have meals with my mom from time to time; as well as birthday parties for my nephews (they're 10 and 4, with birthdays in september and november.) oh, and easter and xmas meals with my inlaws. maybe family get-togethers could happen in the fall again. i dunno. Posted January 14, 2021 Easter and Boxing Day were at that same aunt's, so won't happen there any more. My dad and his wife did Christmas Day (but not this past one, of course). Hopefully you can see your nephews in the fall! Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 i hope so too! i saw them both (and my one brother & sister-inlaw; and my other sister-inlaw too!) back in October, when my daughters had their birthday party for hubby and i. we were outside, and masked if we weren't actually eating. and i've seen my younger nephew a few times since then, but we were masked as well. i think, personally, we'll be masked for quite a while even if some of us have been able to get the vaccine. here's a funny - i go back to the Drs for my 6-month appt in July (bp, cholesterol check, and shingles dose #2). the Dr said she hopes that i also have the covid vaccine by then. LOL! i'm still thinking May though, so... maybe. also, i'm in Phase 2, as PA is calling it - that's after Phase 1A, 1B, and 1C - bascially the 16-65 "everyone else group" - so.... Posted January 14, 2021 We don't have any kind of Covid vaccine timeline yet. Or vaccines at all, so far, for that matter. Hooray for 10 p.m. curfew. The generator for the food truck nearby has finally stopped for the night so the people can get home. (ABBA was unsuccessful at drowning it out.) Good night! *poofs in a cloud of fruit teas* Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 i don't know what our timeline is but we're still in Phase 1A g'night Lagie! Share this post Link to post

I'm not counting on being mask free until at least fall and probably longer. Our Phases sound pretty similar to yours. I think I am in 1C and have no idea when that will start. So far no word on where and how the vaccine will be given. Right now it is still being given at hospitals to their workers and nursing homes for residents and workers. I am surprised by the reports of how many health care workers are refusing to get it. Share this post Link to post

Posted January 14, 2021 Good morning, CPA! *sets out coffee, teas, juices, apples, brownies, and toast with jam* Chilly again this morning. I hope the rain stops by shop time but I am not optimistic about that. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 Rain, rain, go away! Ello there! *inhales tea* It's pretty cold here too, because of it the cats are now looking for more snuggles Right now I'm gonna relax before studying for a test and do math homework. Also changed back to my old username. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 Smart cats! Welcome! Do you have a specific short name we can use? Like Zic or Daft or... ? The rain has stopped. Huzzah! (Please stay stopped.) Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 You could call me whatever you want! And it's nice to hear that the rain stopped! Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 @purplehaze - on the PA dept of health website, we have a tall, but short "loading bar," if you will, that has the phases along the bottom. it's only filled in for phase 1A. and i'm in phase 2. lol. my upper arm doesn't hurt as much as it did yesterday, so that's a good thing. i might stalk for more gemshards. i can't breed mine until next week. i'm still looking for more red and green ones Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 (edited) Saw Shimmer, Jester, and Amalthean Eggs dropping in Abandoned. What did I get? A Magi with SUX right in the middle of its code. I think I'm being taunted. Huh, what bird was that? It was the size and shape of a bluebird (which live here) and it dived in the leaves after a insect, then flew back to its perch. 🤔 It must be that phoebe I've been hearing, but not seeing. Also saw yesterday tiny purple flowers called 'Spring Beauties.' Also wE hAz yOuR rObInZ. pAy tEh rAnSoM aNd wE wIlL sTaRt rEtUrNiNg tHeM bY mAy. Used to live near a small town where vultures migrated to every winter. Every year, people in the town would demand the town remove them. The town would be like 'we'll get on that, but we don't meet that often and it'll take time,' then they'd wait for the vultures to migrate back north. One small instance where beuaucratic red tape is a benefit. Edited January 14, 2021 by Long_Before_Sunrise I think of stuff to add after the fact. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2021 *sneaks in while eating lunch* I left one of my volunteers on cash, and before I'd even left she was asking how long I'd be gone... But the pizza and the peace in my office was totally worth it. Back to shifting boxes now for another half hour before I relieve her. Share this post Link to post
