From light into darkness

Anna nodded and went to fetch the brush before heading to the kitchen, getting stopped by Mistro and Jach. Jach came from the kitchen with a cup of hot coco for his wife, having added the small marshmallows in it and a sliver of peppermint just how she likes it. He gave it to her with a soft kiss. "My beloved queen deserves to be pampered after safely bringing in the crown princess." He purred. Anna then moved behind her and started to brush her hair gently as Jach went back outside to start the meat smoking.

Sam smiled at Abi when she (Abi) headed to the kitchen to get her (Sam) the hot chocolate she (still Sam) wanted. Then she looked a bit confused when the former came back, but then it faded when Jach came out of the kitchen with her hot chocolate that was prepared how she liked it. “Thanks dear and oh um thanks again,” she said when he gave her the mug and after she kissed him back just as softly as he did her while looking a bit embarrassed when he said that she deserved to be pampered. When he went outside to smoke the meat, she took a few sips of her favorite hot beverage while Abi brushed her hair from being the chair she (Sam) sat in.

After Jach stoked the fire with apple wood logs he came back in, washed his hands and then sat down at his wife's feet and started to rub her feet and ankles after removing her shoes and socks. "After so many years of being pampered you're still not used to it? You went through a hard labor, you deserve a good rest until the party tonight." He purred as his tails and horns came out, his wings still remained hidden for it was still daylight, however he used his thin tail to play with his daughter as she shook her rattle and squirmed trying to grab at the wiggly thing waving above her. He tilted his head when a car pulled up and Zander and his husband stepped out of the car heading to the front door, Zeroth immediately there to receive them inside.

“Oh that feels nice and I’m just surprised with how random the pampering seems is all. Aw thanks dear,” Sam said in reply to everything that Jach said with a smile before also tilting her head a bit when she heard the car pull up in the driveway which caused her expression to turn into one of curiosity as to who it could be. “Maybe it’s Zander and Austin,” she said after a few minutes as she couldn’t see the front door and was only guessing before having her attention be on Aria as she was trying to catch Jach’s thin tail.

Indeed it was the two boys she mentioned, Austin had reconsidered becoming a demon and now was one. He wore his deep brown lion in like tail like a belt, a cowboy hat over his small golden goat horns and has a pattern like a African wild dog on his skin, although he keeps most of it hidden with boots, jeans, long sleeve shirts and his ombre chocolate brown to sandy hair swept over one eye. His eyes remained their bright muted blue, only more cat-like than human. Freckles still dusted his skin changing to white in the darker patches of skin. 

 

Austin tipped his hat to Jach and Sam as he and his husband came inside. "Howdy. Had to come see the little one for myself, Zander wouldn't shut up about how cute the tyke is. " He drawled, having spent years with hellhound and unicorn training with the roughest demons, he picked up a southern drawl with a old English accent. 

 

Zander grinned and went to the cradle. "She's in bloomers! Hi little sis! I see you like uncle Greed's rattle! Oh honey can we adopt one? " He looked at Austin with pleading eyes as his husband joined him at the cradle and pulled out a little grey and black Cerberus stuffie and tucked it in beside her.  "She is a little darlin'. We'll talk about it later love, you are busy and I work long days. A kid isn't a puppy or a snake. I still need to get used to this whole demon thing too." He said softly. Zander took his love's hand and kissed it. "I didn't mean now, but further down the line when we're both ready. We can get practice in with little Aria by watching her for mum and dad at times when they need a break. " He said softly.

 

"Awww... You guys are adorable. I'm glad my sons are happy with each other. " Jach cooed at the tender moment the two had shared.

Sam smiled at Zander and Austin after they came inside and the latter tipped his hat towards them before listening to everything he said afterward. "Hello Austin and glad you could come and see her. I also like your new look; it looks great on you," she said before Zander went over to the cradle to see Aria. She smiled a bit more when she heard their little girl make cute gurgling noises at her older brother while she was still sucking on the rattle that Zeroth had given to her earlier that was a gift from Greed. She then made an 'aw' face when she heard everything the other couple said during the sweet, tender moment that they shared.

 

"Yes that they are and I am as well," she said after Jach said what he did and after the former couple's conversation was over. "Will you guys be staying for the picnic dinner we'll be having later in celebration of both Independence Day and Aria's birthday?" she asked curiously a few minutes later.

Zander nodded. We will until Austin feels the effects of the demon power. He just turned a bit ago so it's still new and I need to teach him how to hide his demonic features. ." He said softly and Austin nodded. 

 

Jach nodded and went to turn the meat while the guests slowly trickled in as dusk came.

“Okay. I know all about that as I had to do the same thing when I was turned into a demon,” she said in reply with a nod of understanding. She then watched as Jach went outside to turn the meat afterward and looked outside for a little while longer before having it go to the door when she heard guests start arriving around dusk awhile later. She greeted them from her current position on the couch and told them to get comfortable while the food was still being prepped.

Jach greeted the people and then had them move outside to see the fireworks over the small lake they had and helped serve everyone.  It was when the party was full swing and they where getting ready for dessert Mrs. White and her four children came running in. "Oh? This is all the ruckus I heard? Well, since my kids' bedtimes are too early to travel to the city and watch the fireworks there, can they stay here and watch your fireworks? Oh and is any of this gluten free? " She wined. 

 

"Karen White, I thought you'd come. There's food for your picky and hypoallergenic eaters. However the cake is for invited guests who RSVPed with Abby and you turned it down so, we only made it big enough for everyone here to get a slice.." Jach said waving her to the table set for her and her kids needs. 

 

"I GET OUT OF BATTLE TO FIND OUT MY LITTLE BROTHER IS MARRIED AND A FATHER?!"  Came a booming voice as a large man as tall and built like Andre the giant with dark skin like Shaquille O'Neal, golden lion eyes and hair like Merida's father from Brave streaked with gold and silver beads in his beard and messy mane. He gave a blazing white grin and threw open his arms as Jach- quite tiny in comparison to the gigantic man- ran into them. "Abadon! Brother Pride! We tried to stop by but you were busy with Leviathan during our honeymoon. I even sent invitations for the party in the central circle when we announced Aria to the people! It took you a little longer to deal with Levi then I thought it would. Abadon you have to see my lovely wife and beautiful son and daughter! " He said leading the large man into the middle of the group.

Sam went outside with everyone else as Jach gestured their guests to do so, greeting the rest of them that came after the initial ones did earlier while she was being spoiled by Abby. She had Aria in her arms, who was still chewing on the rattle that Zeroth had given to her that had come from Greed, so that all the guests could see her and then she planned on putting her back in her crib a bit later so that she could rest. As it was announced that they could now get food by Jach a little while later while the fireworks were going off over their small lake, she made her way over to the main table, spooned out some food, and then put it on her plate afterward. She apologized to the people behind her for being slow as she only had one free arm due to the other one mainly holding Aria. They said it was okay and they understood before she nodded and commenced with getting the rest of her food until she was done then made her way over to an empty spot at another table where some of the guests were already sitting down and eating at.

 

She was halfway through eating her food while holding Aria in her lap when Mrs. White came over with her kids. She heard some of the conversation that she had with Jach, but mainly tuned it out as she was listening to the other conversations going on around her at the table. She had just finished eating her food and was about to get up to get a slice of cake when she heard a booming voice that she didn't recognize coming from the back door. She jumped slightly and tried to look towards where it had come from, but there were a lot of people standing in front of that spot and blocking her view. When some of them moved out of the way, she saw a hulking tall guy that was the same size as Andre the giant and same skin tone as Shaq standing next to Jach but couldn't hear what the latter was telling him.

 

When it seemed to be over and she saw them heading towards her, she smiled in greeting and wondered if maybe this was the brother they couldn't see while they were on their way to their honeymoon decades (thought that sounded better than "years") ago.

"Sam, this is my brother Pride, Abadon. Between him, Bell and Mammon , well... Mostly him and a bit of Bell, with Mammon kinda helping them budget and set up a schedule... That I made it so long in my chaotic, hellish, damned family." He laughed. Abadon smacked Jach's back and he stumbled forward getting caught by Austin. 

"Brother your flattery will fall flat on my younger brothers, I did most of the work! I may be the second eldest, but I take the most from father in both appearance and mentality, which is why Father favored me! Now tell me your little wife's name? " He said leaning down to take Sam's hand in just three fingers eyes piercing into her own. 

 

"Samantha Echlare.  Her name is Samantha, and this is my sons Zander and his husband Austin- that I'm leaning on- thanks.." he said as he was straightened up by his son-in-law. "And the newest addition, Aria. " He said with a broad grin.

 

"For one who practices humility.." Abadon said the vertue with malcontent, "You seem awfully close to being like me brother. " He finally blinked still looking at Sam. "Abadon is my name, the Prideful one, favored of Lucifer and second Duke of Hell." He said lowly, his voice a rumble to those who couldn't read his lips. He then straightened and look at his brother. Jach huffed and crossed his arms "I have every right to be proud of the lovely visage I helped my wife create! " This earned him a laugh from his brother, a booming sound that seemed like fireworks themselves. "Right you are! I too am greatly pleased with my own offspring! "

"It's very nice to finally meet you Abadon and I'm glad you could make it to the party. I'm sure Jach told you that we wanted to go by your ring while we were on our honeymoon but you were too busy helping us with our business while we were away, called Leviathan Shipping at the time, for me to meet you. Ah and I'm glad you turned out okay with their help," Sam said in reply to everything Jach said while mostly saying everything she did to Abadon while the last thing was said to the former. She then listened to everything Abadon said in reply to what her love said and was about to tell the former her name when she heard the question of what her name was while looking back into his piercing gaze, but the latter (Jach) did it for her.

 

She shifted Aria a bit to be on her right hip from her left when she heard her love introduce Zander and their daughter to Abadon. She nodded in official greeting to what the latter said after he broke eye contact with her before smiling a bit more at the other before listening to the rest of what they said afterward, giggling a bit in response herself to the last things that were said.

"Leviathan Shipping?" Abadon said tilting his head. Jach grinned again. "Yep! Named it after Levi to piss him off more. Levi is Envy too dear, but now it's called JSZ shipping. " He said getting his brother a good portion of food and a piece of cake much to Karen's chagrin. 

 

"Ah, alright. I don't get out much. But I have to see my brother and his family with my own two eyes for me to believe it. Jachqulin a family man? Bah! It's good to know that you still run a cutthroat business though brother." Abadon said as he ate the entire plate.  "Speaking of, you know I'm much too proud to enjoy a party of this size, but I do have a proposal for you." He said in a dark tone. 

 

"That will have to wait till after the other guests go home brother. If you have traveled this far I know it's not some simple trivial task you're asking me to do, so I'd rather discuss it with you and my wife after the celebration." Jach said in a tone that made the fire seem cold and a couple guests shivered. It was clear it wasn't a suggestion but an order from the King of Hell to Abadon, and although the Prince of Pride, he knew when his little brother gets that tone, it's time to shut up and wait.

"Oh okay and yes, I know. That's why I said that it was then called Leviathan Shipping," she said in reply to both things Jach said about who Levi was along with what their business was called today before hearing everything else that was said afterward.

 

"I'm glad we could finally meet and you could meet our kids as well," she said to Abadon with the smile still on her face from earlier and then got a bit concerned when Jach's tone changed which caused the fire to feel a bit cold. She wondered what kind of proposal Jach's brother had come to them with, but would have to wait until after the party was over to find out which she was fine with. "I'll be back. I'm going to bring Aria back inside and in her cradle since everyone's seen her and she seems to be getting a bit sleepy," she said when the other conversation was done before heading inside to do what she said she'd do. After she had put their daughter back down in her cradle, she headed back outside and got a piece of cake and fork before going back over to where she had left both her love and her brother-in-law.

"I would keep her with you." Abadon growled lowly. Jach noticeably bristled at the simple statement that carried a lot of meaning in just a few words. Jach took Aria and tucked her in his arm eyes sweeping the Forest. "Unfortunately everyone," he announced. "I just remembered my wife and I have been up since the morning and would like to rest. Thank you all for coming to visit but please, you must go now. I'm sure all of us are tired." He said so coldly not even Karen and her kids complained about not seeing the fireworks as they quickly left, leaving the immediate family, the staff and Abadon there in the growing shadows.

"Oh, sorry. I just thought she might be warmer inside," Sam said before Jach retrieved her again and held her after he reacted the way he did. She was a bit confused as to why he did that as she hadn't caught the meaning behind Abadon's words, but then that quickly faded as he made the announcement to the neighbors about her and Jach needing some rest and that the party was over. She got a bit concerned when she saw the shadows and heard the cold tone he used in his announcement. "Are you alright dear?" she asked with the concern in her voice and showing in her expression and in her eyes as she looked at him.

When the last human guest was escorted home Jach folded his demon wings around his wife and daughter still scanning the woods. Abadon studied the confused Queen and the equally confused Prince of Hell. "You two haven't been apart of the family long enough to know that if I heard about something during a skirmish with the eldest brother, then he knows it too. Eris complained about how much luck you have gotten lately and of course, Envy didn't expect you to actually go through with the wedding, your Majesty." He said smoothly eating a pice of cake. "Envy is many things, but a cowered he is not. Abandoning the field of battle could mean only one thing and that is he's planning yet another coo for the throne. This time however, the King has more weaknesses to exploit." He explained setting the now empty plate aside. "Greed would be neutral and Lust is with us, but War and Gluttony are always going to be with Envy and Sloth is finally awake now... I don't think this planet can take another one of our wars..."

 

 Jach was now fully a demon now at his brother's last statement although his angelic wings where hidden by a Devine power in a small silver band on his horn with his mother's black and white feather dangling from it.  "Sloth is awake? That could be troublesome. However if he dares try to get me brother, he will get one big surprise. I'm stronger than ever and my family is immortal. Need I remind you, I know his entire true name, as I do yours and my other siblings' as well. He can't say mine, Aria's, even Zander has carefully chosen names in the Devine language that protects them. My wife can handle herself, don't doubt the strength of your Queen."  He said darkly holding Aria tightly in the corner of his arm like he was sheltering her under his wing.

Sam also transformed into her demon form after the last guest was escorted out of their backyard, leaning against his shoulder after feeling his wings wrap around both her and Aria. “Well I wouldn’t know of them anyway. I was only turned into a demon about one-hundred of so years ago (thinking it’s been that long but if it’s been longer than that, I can edit) so Jach would probably know better but I might just be grasping at straws at that statement,” she said to one of Abadon’s statements before hearing the rest of what he said as well as what all Jach said in response afterward.

 

“I’m happy you have such confidence in my abilities dear but I might doubt myself if I ever find myself up against them. I’ll just have to work on them a bit more to get some more practice in,” she said in reply while sounding a bit unsure of herself but also still having a small smile on her face afterward all the same.

"Your power is part of mine. A Devine bow in your hands and they'll be pincushions before they even see a single hair. " He said softly his claw curling around a strand of her hair. 

 

Abadon  snorted. "And your son? Even I can clearly see he's rightfully Envy's child. Did you forget Asmodeus, that it was after the death of one of your brides that War and Envy removed your wings? You nearly transformed into your complete dragon form, and brutalized our brothers but now that you have half the power you had then not even you can stand your ground against four revolting Dukes of Hell. " He said calmly. 

 

"I can, and I will. Don't doubt the power of your King.  Aria may be just born today but she too has incredible power.  Father came across a text saying a demon born from wedlock is thrice as powerful as both parents. He may have taken advantage of my mom, however he did indeed wed her that's why I'm so powerful. And my daughter, being born out of pure love and matrimony is triple my strength." 

 

At this statement Abadon spat out his drink. "What?! " He coughed. "Is that why you where obsessed to be tied down? To have a powerful child?!" He growled lowly. "To make sure you are unchallenged and have strong allies behind you like Lucifer did? Well played brother." Abadon said with a slow clap.

 

Jach snapped both tails in the air just in front of Abadon's face. "Don't lump me in to the likes of father! I wanted marriage to not be alone anymore, feel real love and be apart of someone else. Not to create stronger spawn to help me keep my siblings in line. I'll do that myself." He snarled flames turning a deep purple and black. "Now leave! You have overstayed your welcome and unfortunately ruined a joyful day for my family." Jach snarled looking down at his wife handing her little Aria back who was starting to fuss from the noise. "I'm sorry daddy is loud darling... Shhhh.. shh... Maybe one more feeding so she gets back to sleep would help. I'll see our guest off."

"Oh um okay. I'll still practice anyway just in case," Sam said in reply with a blush on her cheeks at the action of Jach curling one of the strands of her hair around his claw before listening to the rest of the conversation between the two brothers.

 

She stiffened just the slightest bit when she heard what Abadon said in regards to Zander being Envy's child as well as Jach's other pair of wings being forcefully removed by the former and War before taking some breaths to calm herself down again. She told herself that it wouldn't help if she got mad over something so trivial as what was being discussed so instead, she just clenched her hands together to share what she was feeling inside.

 

She then glared a bit at the next statements Abadon said that caused Jach to react the way he did and kept them that way until she noticed the fire turning a deep purple with black color and then she got concerned while having her attention be on her husband. That was still showing on her face when she heard him yell at his brother and then had her attention go from being on the latter to being on Aria when she heard her start fussing before she was placed in her arms and she heard everything that her love said. "Okay to both and don't be too hard on him dear. I can go on a short flight with you later to help you calm down a bit more after she's asleep if you'd like," she said in reply before kissing him softly on the cheek and then turning and heading back inside afterward.

Jach nodded and turned to his brother. "And don't ever say Zander isn't my son again. Envy lost that right when he let him be frozen in the snow by his own mother abandoning him.  Now, I thank you for the warning and prepare accordingly but it is time for you to leave." He growled at his brother who promptly stood, bowed and disappeared in a burst of flames and smoke.  

 

Jach turned to Zander and hugged him tightly. "Don't worry about your dad my son. Protect your sister and your mother and I will check on the spells around this area later. " He said softly and wrapped Austin in a hug too. "You are also my son as well now. You may have just turned, but you were a strong soul in life and in death, now you are a demon, you are stronger than you where before. Don't let Envy get into my boy's mind. Envy has the ability to drive people insane with self doubts. Keep him grounded." He said softly to Austin's ear  and the lad nodded. He let go of them both and headed inside to check on his wife letting the three staff members know they are to check house security.  He loomed in the doorway of the baby's room watching his wife silently.

Sam had gotten a bottle from maestro and was now up in Aria's room, feeding her while rocking gently back and forth in the rocking chair that was there. As she did so, she hummed a song her mom sang to her when she was a baby and she remembered. After the bottle was empty, she set it down next to the chair, and then continued to hum until their daughter was asleep. She continued to rock the chair a bit more to make sure she was really asleep and when she was satisfied she was, she got up, and put her gently in the crib that was there for her. When she turned to head out of her room, she saw Jach looming in the doorway, and headed over to him. "Hi dear. Everything okay?" she said and asked softly so as not to wake their daughter.

Jach's eyes where distant and looking lost. After a moment he blinked and looked down at her. "We both need to practice our strength. My wings where attached not too long ago and my power has increased since I had them removed. I'm sorry the day ended on such a sour note. " He said softly stroking her wing gently.  His second pair shimmered into being, completely engulfing the doorway. He plucked a feather, pricked his finger with the tip and glided to the window weighting something in his blood on the sach before drawing the curtains and clicking on the star projector night light along with the baby monitor.  He then moved to the crib and tucked her blanket around his daughter, slipping the feather under her mattress and kisses her between her nubby horns. "Sweet dreams my little princess." He purred softly before rejoining his wife at the entrance. "Let's go check on the spells on the land. " He muttered to her.

Sam looked a bit concerned after a few minutes when she noticed that his gaze seemed to be elsewhere before it faded when he looked down at her after noticing that she was there. “Okay. When would be a good time that we should do that? It’s okay. I am glad to have finally met Abadon even though he brought some not so good news,” she said in reply before kissing him on the cheek while he stroked her wing gently and she enjoyed him doing that. She watched his second pair of wings appear before he took a feather out of them, go over to night light to turn out on along with the baby monitor, and then kiss their daughter between her nubbed horns. She then nodded when she heard what he said to her (Sam) softly when he came back over to where she still was in the doorway to their princess’ room before leading the way out of it and outside so that they could do what he suggested.

"Soon. " He said as they were finally out in the open air, spreading his wings. "My ancestral home in Germany is a great hide out. I own half a mountain range and we can use the paternity and maternity leave as an excuse for work.  It has the most Devine power since that's where Father fell, and where I was conceived and where she gave birth to me. Envy or any other of my brothers could get there.  We can practice our power there and strengthen it so we don't have to worry about civilians getting hurt." He said as he flapped and was airborne in a second.
