I would still like to be able to see the code on occasion I do get  links screwed up and need to edit said URL.
An example could be I forget to change a view to a lineage link and notice it and will want to fix it.  (Common thing to do in the bingo game.)
Also I noticed the older news topic's first post in this section seem to be missing there text/pictures.

Seeing code: If you have other, possibly workable solutions, please feel free to Suggest them . Otherwise, you can use BBCode while making a post, but for editing, you'll have to work off the formatting bar (for now???). Sorry. =(

Click the hyperlink formatting button to edit links - it's the one that looks like a chain link, kinda.

Yes, the announcement posts with custom graphics required special coding to preview, which was broke in the upgrade. If TJ has to go back and fix these one by one, I doubt he will. I'm not sure there's a way he could go back and mass fix them, but as they're previous releases, it doesn't seem like that's fully necessary.

Ever since the forums got changed, I've not been able to use them in IE.

I just get a pop-up saying:

Quote

Internet Explorer has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

I have to use Chrome instead, to use the forums now.

The Cave still works fine in IE, and everything else still works fine in IE.  It's just the forums that don't work, since the change.

And it's REALLY annoying - having to keep switching to Chrome just for the forums.

Is this a bug?  Is anyone else finding this?  :(

Also, can't get used to all this cold, unwelcoming white space.  The old forum colours was warm and inviting - will we be able to get that theme back?

Tried following a thread? It's in the top right corner, click on Follow and select how you would like to be notified.

Did you change anything? Because I *still* have to log in every time I switch computers - last time was 6 hours ago.

yes i have.  right after the forums were first changed, i had a notification for every post that was posted in threads i follow for the first day.  and then nothing in my email.  i do not stay logged onto the forums 24/7 so the email notifications help a lot.

For ever. TJ answered this here.

Even he can't change it :(

I had the same issue for a bit, here. I went into my notifications (the bell at the top right corner of the page) and fiddled with options a bit to try to get things the way I wanted. Then I went into my email's spam folder and discovered that apparently it had decided with the change that emails from the forum suddenly looked too suspicious. :P So you might want to check both your notification settings and your spam filter to mark them as safe. Emails seem to be coming through fine for me, now that I've got that sorted out.

Is it up-to-date?

Is compatibility mode active or whatever it's called? You could try to toggle that.

Cleared cache and/or DC forum cookies?

Nope, it's automagic now. Above the message, for each users it says if and when a message was read, and if the other person "left the conversation" aka deleted their side.

Yay, 1.0 spacing is back! :D Thanks TJ!

It's sad that the we're stuck with the WYSIWYG editor for the time being, but I'm warming up quite a bit to the rest of the changes. I like the profile page a lot better now, and I'm very happy that the notepad came back with our old information stored inside! I was worried about having to comb through DRs and find everything I lost.

No, only for the moment. Here's TJ's quote:

On 7/3/2017 at 10:29 PM, TJ09 said:

PM capacity is currently unlimited due to the conversion leaving way more messages than people previously had. I will slowly add a cap and reduce it down to about 1000 (5x the original cap). This may not happen until after I get a chance to add "proper" management tools (such as archiving).

If you follow the link in the quote I provided, you'll see we're quoting the same thing...

Chrome has been having hissyfits about how "unsafe" the DC forum is now. I pulled up "view source" because, usually when it has a hissy fit, it's about a site using "http" instead of "https" in the links, and that's exactly it; this page alone was dinged as having 197 "http" tags, most of them associated with images. I imagine a lot of them apply to signature images (looks like I need to update mine, too, LOL!), but the very first one that got dinged was embedded in the Body tag and related to a site called "schema.org."  Anyone whose browser settings are completely suppressing "unsafe" http tags may be getting blank pages because of the one in the body tag, and those of us who turned off that suppression are getting "this content is unsafe" warnings with the content. You'll definitely want to update the tags related to schema.org, and maybe it would be possible to insert a quick-and-dirty text-replacement script to turn any http link to https within signatures and forum posts (the way anyone typing "alot" ended up with a tiny little monster gif -- which I loved and now miss) to fix most of the rest.

Not every image hoster offers https, sadly.

This isn't new; all of the http images in people's signatures and avatars have been http since before the update.

Then can you please be more detailed on what your notification settings are set to, as well as what you are wanting them to do?

I can see people's signatures if I go to their profiles but they are still not showing up on posts. There's probably a box I should be ticking somewhere but I can't find it.

When viewing one category, "forums_forum_##_desc" appears at the top instead of any description.

When you go to Account Settings > Signature, there should be an option for whether or not you'll view other people's signatures. It's right above the box for editing your own.

So, I'm still getting used to the new look (and would like to add myself to the list looking for a "less-white" version.    I think the worst thing for me is that IE, which is my default browser and has never had a problem with the site before, does not like the new software.  I do not have access to PMs, Notifications, the theme menu, or the ability to post.  And getting to my profile requires clicking about 20 times on my name to get it to go.  Currently in Firefox and everything works.

It is nice that I can be logged in on both now and it refreshed my settings (Seen others say ask about this, I've never been able to log on to two places before, so I thought it was new o.O).  "Theme" is there and shows a url it is supposed to redirect to but doesn't, and I have what looks like 2 search bars on top of one another, (second is covering where the PM and Notifications buttons are supposed to be.) I don't know if that is something wonky on my end, or IE's.

Now that I've managed to get my PM box can I just lol at having all the old pms and still not being at old max?  (120 total, guess I don't talk much)

Thanks.  I had forgotten about Compatibility Mode, but don't see how to toggle it on this computer.

I cleared cache and cookies, but that hasn't made any difference.  :(

And it's so weird, cos everything else works fine in IE, it's only Dragon Cave forums since they got changed, that doesn't work.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you. It now works if I switch to desktop site but not on mobile. I guess that's better thank nothing!

When I go to my profile I still have the issue that the add is pushing the information down and because it's in white font it's invisible ~ the content count, joined and last visited information -_-

I would like it the pinned topics were a bit more separate from other topics.
