I have to do my usual first pairing tests... The Gemshards' poses don't really fit well with the Sweetlings, but the Rivers aren't so bad. Naturally, I like them. :3

 

 

The same pose imbalance still applies, but the red Gemshard's colors are nice together with alts.

Blue-banded and Striped Rivers don't look too shabby together.

I think that Colossus X Despis, Despis X Colossus, Brute X Colossus, and Colossus X Brute all work well together. All the dragons are "heavy" looking and have more earthy or subdued colors.

For contrast, how about Bleeding Moon X Colossus, Colossus X Royal Crimson or Black Tea X Colossus?

and Brute x Colossus is my love, and so is Colossus x Royal Crimson

 

The 'contrast' of the others doesn't sit well with me; I think there may be a better way to contrast the colors without doing a muted, earthy tone against a vivid, almost fluorescent one. That's just my opinion though.

 

And the Colossi and the Desipis have that pose imbalanced mentioned above that doesn't tend to sit well.

I'm definitely breeding my Plated Colossi to Reds and Depisis, maybe Brutes…and in a twist, maybe even a Magi or two. Sparks will fly >

I want to try Striped Rivers with Undines and Blue-banded Dragons.

Gemshards with Skywings, Sunsets and Swallowtails.

I want to breed my Plated Colossi with Stones, they seem most closely related. But I also like them with Desipis and Ember. But PB will also be an option. They are so wonderfully detailed that they look good on their own.

 

For the Gemshard will probably try a PB line, but I also want a male green Gemshard x female River checker. They look so nice together.

 

The Rivers go well with so many breeds, Heartstealer, Silver, Blusang, Black, Blacktip, Lumina, Storm, Tsunami... I can't decide.

Love the mock-ups, Sock. I am absolutely doing a Plated x Desipis lineage (and possibly also a Desipis x Plated, lol) for Halloween. Now I just need to make sure I have enough so each of my Desipises have a mate...

 

I'm enchanted with the color scheme on the Imp x Red Gem. I think that will be a thing as well.
