Daily Dragon Fix

Recommended Posts

I apologise, I did a derp while adminning today and my pudgy fingers ended up slipping around on my touch screen and hit a code next to an adult rather than an adult. Affected code is LWmnp. Sorry about that. DX

The site is down for an unplanned server maintenance. Sorry about that, folks. I'll edit this post when it's back up (it should be soon).

Edit: And we're back.

Could I suggest a slight site edit to DDF? I haven't read back through all the pages, so I don't know if this was suggested already, but...

You know how when you 'view all', and there's the page buttons at the top for 0-500, 500-1000, etc. -- could you put another set of those at the bottom of the page? When I scroll down the page to mark the adult/fogged/dead dragons, I then have to scroll all the way back to the top to click to go to the next page.

(I love DDF, btw; big thanks to everyone involved in making and and maintaining!)

Hi! smile.gif I think the site is down again... Is just me or is another server maintenance?

Mrrp; it's loading up fine for me right now. D: What error message are you getting (and which URL are you using)?

Thanks for answering, also loads fine for me now. I have the page in my favorites so I do not know the exact url.

Sorry if I caused too much trouble sad.gif and thanks again. Finally will be able to hatch my eggies!

For those curious about when exactly the rollover happens according to the e-mails I had DDF send, I've got quite a few e-mails in my inbox now (and just turned the temporary feature off):

Day-um, that's a lot of e-mails. No wonder I was getting fed up with them toward the end.

Distribution:

08:00 = 14 (in sum, 14 / 63, i.e. 22%)

08:01 = 15 (in sum, 29 / 63, i.e. 46%)

08:02 = 5 (in sum, 34 / 63, i.e. 54%)

08:03 = 8 (in sum, 42 / 63, i.e. 67%)

08:04 = 5 (in sum, 47 / 63, i.e. 75%)

08:05 = 6 (in sum, 53 / 63, i.e. 84%)

08:06 = 2 (in sum, 55 / 63, i.e. 87%)

08:07 = 2 (in sum, 57 / 63, i.e. 90%)

08:08 = 1 (in sum, 58 / 63, i.e. 92%)

08:09 = 1 (in sum, 59 / 63, i.e. 94%)

08:10 = 0 (in sum, 59 / 63, i.e. 94%)

08:11 = 2 (in sum, 61 / 63, i.e. 97%)

(Plus outliers: 08:18 x 1, 08:46 x 1. Downtimes?)

While I figure that's acceptable, I still want to make the timing more precise by turning it into a cronjob. smile.gif

Was that the time of email receipt or of email sending? If first, it may just have been delivery delay.

It's the time the e-mail was sent. smile.gif

Whoops! Bit of a mishap behind the scenes, please check your codes everyone! Looks like a hatchling or two bolted while I had the dryvac on. They'll be fine of course, but if your list of dragons entered into DDF looks a smidgen shorter than it ought to, sorry about that!

Thankfully none of mine got loose! tongue.gif

Umm, I wonder what is going on really, but it seems I can't log in into my account. Aside that, when I tried to register too, the name was already taken. Remembering password isn't an issue, since I am 100% sure from it.

It shouldn't be that long since I last time visited either.

In case it helps, the username would be same as my forum name.

Hmm, you're still in the database. *headscratch* What error are you getting? If the login 'just' isn't sticking, maybe check if you allow cookies? (I understand it's a silly suggestion, in a way, since from the way I'm reading your post you haven't changed any settings in your browser, but I figure I might as well... it's the only thing coming to mind off-hand).

I am getting "Your password was incorrect. Please click here to try again.". The password I'm using is 100% correct whenever I'm typing it (typed it even slowly, letter by letter), and haven't changed it ever in DDF.

The cookies are allowed. And even after clearing the cookies, the site gives me same error.

So I tried going to the site today and it won't come up. It shows something completely different- a list of related links and a picture of a person. Any ideas what's up?

Never mind. I just read the first post.

Silly little feature request: could our account info show our average clicks per day?

I imagine this can't be too difficult since it keeps track of our entire clicks since joining, and likely also knows our join date.

I was just curious about this while clicking today, heehee.

Hmm... I could probably add that. If it's not there by the end of the weekend, shoot me a PM, it means I forgot about it. laugh.gif;; But you're absolutely right, it should be trivial to add. smile.gif

Having only found this site recently I find it soothing to click while I am sitting in the evening while we watch a show or read to each other.

A great service and I hope to do my part. smile.gif

Sorry that I couldn't click on them yesterday but due to the major ice storm we got here overnight and into Sunday morning my power was off when I woke up at 10:30 and it remained off until quarter to 10 at night when it came back on!!! Had no power or heat within that time frame. Had running water, food ,flashlights, blankets and a battery operated candle for light, along with a radio, phone service until it did. For breakfast had cereal with milk and my juice no coffee. For lunch peanut butter and banana sandwich with gingerbread cookies and diet coke. Found out I still had some hot water so had hot chocolate and a roast beef sandwich for supper plus a piece of apple pie and ice cream (which was getting pretty soft). Should be ok now smile.gif

Since I removed code caching, that means "the end of codes" is actually not 100%ly accurate, in that you may end up viewing a handful of codes twice (-> if a few were removed while you're browsing and your session thus assumes the ring is larger than it is making you view a codes from the start of the ring a second time, or -> if a few codes were added alphabetically before the current page you're on and so codes from the page you were just on are pushed onto the page you're clicking to at that moment) and a few codes not at all (-> again because a few codes were removed and a code slid to a page back while you were switching pages, or -> if codes are added that alphabetically sort at the 'end' of your ring, and the assumed ring size doesn't account for them).

If you understood that, you deserve a cookie. <3

Aha! That's exactly what I came to ask about...I thought I'd try to click my entire way through the current set of codes today, then noticed I was getting the same page of dragons two and three times in a row. blink.gif
